Never say they were blind followers, but they share same feeling of freeing Wano, that isn't a Zoro thing, so you can't use that excuse on why he is there as it basically everyone's reasons especially Luffy is one wanting to free country the most from his talks.Non of the Straw Hats are blind followers. They have personalities...Zoro was pissed of By Orochi with how he killed Yasuie & is running the country of Wano making the ppl suffer. He knows Kaido is the real shadow ruler & he wants piece.
No Zoro has not taken an attack from any Yonkou Lv character, but he has taken an attack from an Admiral and countered back, with the admiral referring to his strength to resist.
Zoro also is set up by the plot to damage & hurt Kaido much more than what the scabbards did. He was given Enma the only sword to hurt Kaido, it’s in his hands. & he has reached the top of Onigashima with the rest of the SuperNova’s that are up against Kaido & BM.
Zoro is going to play an important part in defeating Kiado. Oda had layed the ground work & now Zoro is present to do his thing as the 1st mate. & help Luffy take down an emperor.
Fujitora was playing with him. You thought that was his full strength? Please don't disrespect an Admiral going easy on someone when we all know Zoro would be crushed by gravity instantly if Fujitora wanted to use more power.
Zoro won't surpassed an former Roger and Whitebeard crewmate in one arc especially knowing Scabbards already give damage to same area, kinda nullify Zoro hurting him on his own if he take advantage striking a wounded part. Nothing special on that especially we seen even with Enma he struggle with the likes of Apoo and yet someone he be fine fighting 2 Yonkos just like that?
Nah, Zoro is not really push like that and only Luffy is brought to be major one to deal damage and defeat Kaido. We all know that especially Ace's flashback/backstory solidify how important it is for him over Zoro. He can have his spotlight, but able to fight an Yonko is kinda laughable after seeing his performance this arc. He can support, but not doing anything over Luffy or Supernova Captains on taking spotlight being the ones to defeat Kaido.

Oda mention his full power was one with Pica and yet even that didn't stop him getting defeated and fainting in same arc. Asura seems to no exist anymore or no longer his full power given he never use it on moments with credible threat and still struggle taking out enemies he should have taken care of easily, but don't.The problem is that we didn't see his full power yet. There are things like Asura that we didn't see after the time skip. He took a slash from Mihawk pts what makes you think that his durability went down? It wouldn't make sense. And regarding him fainting I think Oda made it like that so we can see one of the multiple similarities that Oden and Zoro have. I'm pretty repeating myself but come on, he took like a champion Luffy's pain something that was stated "imposible" to survive and took a directly stab to the heart from Mihawk and a Slice thru the chest with Your. I'm not saying he is going to do a 1v1 and defeat him with ease while being intact from the fight. I see him getting some important damage from the fight. And of course that he won't kill Kaido while he is fresh.

I think ppl ignore things like similarities and Oda building the plot in a very intelligent way and just think: "Well Luffy is the MC and he said he wants to defeat Kaido. It makes sense if he does kill him despite the fact that he doesn't have any way to do that."
Oden got similarities to Luffy. Nothing about him and Zoro are similar except being swordsmen, but that's it. They are overall different character and narrative pushing Luffy is being his own 'Oden' especially have his own group leading the charge just like Oden did. Also again pre-timeskip feats aren't very effective if current performance doesn't support it anymore. Do you think Kamazouu strike then is greater then Mihawk's slash and Kuma's Pain Paw? Doesn't make sense at all and just that he gotten weaker on durability and stamina compare to how he used to be on those stats. Don't think it supply the same anymore after that fight.
Also Luffy can hit his insides, so he does have a way to kill someone, so Idk what you mean there.
