Summary and Preview
Imagine what it would be like if the "normal" people around you found out about your otaku status?? Even in Japan, it is quite frowned upon. In fact, the main character in this manga, Katsuki Ganota (pun to the title "gan-otaku", short for GUNdam-OTAku, meaning gundam-geek/fanatic), got dumped numerous times because of her gundam obsession.
When she left her country town to work in the city, she decided to let go of her past and start afresh. She's the top employee in her company, and everyone seems to be awed by her. However, she is still unable to rid herself of gundam goodness. She is torn between leading a 'normal' facade at work, while trying to cover her otaku tracks (her mobile phone ringtone is a gundam character theme!). To make matters worse, the guy she's interested in at work HATES gundam (due to a traumatic childhood incident).
This is a hilarious comedy manga about female otaku-ness! It would be advantageous to know your gundams, but not essential. There are some suggestive girl-girl/yuri action, but nothing too promiscuous. Good for a light-hearted read and some insights to an adult otaku mindset (in a good-natured humerous way). [6gatsu]
