Summary and Preview
Third Girl is a story about a love triangle and talks about three different people. Yoriko is a 14 year old school girl that wants to have fun before she turns 20. She feels that after you turn 20 years old, you become too mature to enjoy the good things in life. Ryo is an electrical engineering college student and meets Yoriko but initially, is hesitant of having a relationship with her in fear that he may appear to be a pedophile. Eventually Ryo figures that as long as the relationship remains platonic, everything will be ok.
Miya is Ryo’s girlfriend and is as beautiful as she is high maintenance. She expects only the best to be provided to her, including men, food, gifts and attention. How will the dynamic relationship between these three individuals turn out? [vyc]

Notes:
Kouke Kazuo is a famous seinen mangaka. In the 1980's, he collaborated with a publication company called Studio Ship to create a magazine for students of a manga-writing seminar called Comic Gekigason-Juku (劇画村塾, lit. 'drawn drama village school'), where Third Girl and its oneshot prequel, D-Out, originally serialized.
Serialization continued in this magazine until chapter 48 in May 1988. After this, the magazine was discontinued, and chapter 49 was published in June 1989 on Comic HAL, a seinen magazine by Studio Ship. From chapter 50 (October 1991) to 60 (April 1994), the series was published in a Studio Ship josei magazine called Comic Corsage. After April 1994, Corsage was discontinued, and nothing more was published.
Studio Ship published an '8 volume edition' that included D-Out as a 'prologue,' but it only contained chapters 1 to 58. Chapters 59, 60, and a sidestory were left unprinted.
In 1995, Studio Ship was taken over completely by Kouke Kazuo and renamed Kouke Shoin. A year later, the company reprinted a 'novel-sized edition' that was 6 volumes long, and contained only chapters 1 to 57.
From 2006 to 2007, Kouke released an 8-volume 'Complete Edition' of the manga, which contained all related works published to date. In the final volume, the author strongly implied that there would eventually be a 9th volume to complete the story. However, nothing ever surfaced. [fallacies]
