I am really excited for this as I've been a huge RuroKen fan and the anime was something I grew up watching. If this means the Jinchuu arc gets animated, then that's just fantastic as it is arguable one of the best arcs in RK, even if the best of it already got animated as Tsuiokuhen. Ooooh, can't wait

Sorry to hear about Shiki coming to an end... Guess I saw it coming but still, I'll be sad to see it go.

The one-shot compilation looks interesting. I'm looking forward to Hoshino's.

It's not "same as SQ.19", but "different from SQ.19", in the picture.

I'm a bit "meh" at SQ having another spin-off magazine, since I'm pretty sure SQ.19 is more than enough, and they don't really need another spin-off. They could've simply make SQ.19 into a BiMonthly instead of TriMonthly we have right now :/

As it says we will know more in the next issue (SQ 2011-07), I assume it'll be out after that issue, maybe late June or early July? I doubt August can be considered as "Early Summer" any more.

Sala, I think you're mixing up Tsuiokuhen and Seisouhen... Tsuiokuhen is mainly the story between Kenshin/Shinta and Tomoe :x

It's Seisouhen that had flashbacks of Jinchuu in it.

IMO some of the best parts of the Jinchuu arc were the flashback bits when Kenshin tells of his past with Tomoe - which was in Tsuiokuhen Not to say that the rest of the arc wasn't good, but this part was the part that stuck with me the most. I'm not sure the new anime team can live up to the standards of animation, soundtrack etc that was in Tsuiokuhen, but I would certainly like to see them try, and if the rest of the Jinchuu arc could be animated just as well, too, that would just be great!

I can't remember much of Seisouhen at all as I watched it eons ago I just remember I didn't like it because of how they screwed with Kenshin I rewatched Tsuiokuhen a couple of times so that's fresher in my mind.

The fight between Kenshin and Enishi was in Seisouhen, as well as bits on the kidnapping of Kaoru.

Seisouhen is pretty mixed for me personally. I mean I liked the way the stories were told, and the overall feeling was really well made... Except I hated the way the portrayed the "final years" of Kenshin and Kaoru, and I told myself never to watch it again (but then I did, and hated it again, for total of 3 times I believe :P)

I mean story wise, Ultimo, Shiki, and Luck Stealer are probably the ones that's ending even sooner. Especially Shiki...

Why else would you kill off 6 of the main antagonists in 1 chapter :P

I thought Donten going to end because of its rapid story flow. Based on the story flow, it is not weird that it'll end in this month's issue; furthermore from the interview, Ohtagaki said he already finished making the story.

For other series, I heard Ultimo going to be total three parts, so it going to last for awhile. For Luck Stealer, I didn't read last chapter yet (because no one released it), so I'm not sure how long this one will last.

Hey um, this is a stupid question but what chapter is Gekka Bijin on?

Now for something significantly less stupid, the Vomic was pretty well done, and makes me hope that it'll get an anime even more. Or at least a drama of some sort.

Thats nice to hear. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Also, I'm ecstatic about the new Kenshin anime. One of my all-time favorite series and hopefully it gets all of its content fully animated this time and the anime reboots itself completely.

The voice actors for Ultimo's vomic:

Agari Yamato = Konishi Katsuyuki
Ultimo = Nakajima Megumi
Kodaira Rune = Nabatame Hitomi

Changing subject, I wonder if Jump SQ is becoming like Shonen Magazine (series are taking turn to take break). I don't want Jump SQ to become monthly version of WSM.

I think it's mainly because of the new series (having extra pages) and the 1-shots that's allowing them to let some of the artists rest for a month every now and then. With Shiki ending and the new series in place now, it should be more normal now...

But then again, SQ is a bit like Bessatsu Hana to Yume, where a lot of veterans from the main magazine is serializing... Betsu-Hana has a lot of series doing the one month on, one month off deal, and it's really annoying (considering the fact that the magazine is now thinner than before, but still costs 120 yen more than LaLa...)

I'm just glad the series I'm following closely aren't taking breaks at the moment

Well, with Takei, him taking a break is actually good news. When Jumbor two months ago reduced down to only a 20 page chapter, the next announcement shortly after was Shaman King Remix was being produced. So, when Takei takes a break, it means other things are coming down the line. This vomic may be the reason. (But he also has another "un-announced project" so it could be that too!)

This is dumb and stupid question, but I want to know how people think about it.

Many people put rivalry between Jump SQ and Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, like Shonen Jump and Shonen Magazine. So I want to know which one is currently in upper hand, not looking at magazine sales.

Bessatsu Shonen Magazine: It has one mega-hit series (Shingeki no Kyojin), but there really aren't well known series except Shigeki no Kyojin.
Jump Square: Don't have mega-hit series, like Shingeki no Kyojin, but it has numerous hit series, like D.Gray-man, Ao no Exorcist, Claymore, Tegami Bachi, etc.

I think SQ is better off. It has a wide variety of decent selling series. Cute girls, badass warrior girls, modern day exorcists, 19th century exorcists, fighting robots, vampires, Frankenstein, tennis players, mail couriers, and CLAMP (which is practically its own genre).

I'm talking about the July issue, which has gone up for another 10 yen from the May+June Issue (and a 50 yen increase from regular pricing), when two of their "established" series are on break.

Bessatsu is a fairly new magazine, while Jump SQ is some-what old if you count Monthly Shounen Jump too....and I doubt anyone actually compare the two magazines.
comparing SQ with Monthly Shounen Magazine is probably a bit more fair if you want to compare monthlies by Kodansha and Shueisha, although Monthly Shounen Magazine is pretty rare on the web....
