Re: I Solemnly Swear That I'm Up To No Good

In Sweden this is the standard.
Saying you love someone whilst being afraid of kissing people... That's odd. :p
Well I didn't just mean significant others.

Her confession in the confession thread she never even said it to boyfriends......which is why I brought it up :sweat

Re: I Solemnly Swear That I'm Up To No Good

I never said it to girlfriends either, although I've stayed away from longer relationships so I've never really gotten to the point where I even feel it, let alone want to say it. If she's been in longer relationships then it's a little weird because if you've had a partner for months it's not more than ok to be vulnerable and tell them how you really feel. Getting crushed is part of life and for every time you grow a little bit.

Plus I think she was saying the love was implied, she just didn't feel comfortable ever saying it, even to family...

This is pretty deep and neither of us are Naomi...I'm feeling uncomfortable :neutral

Let's take it to PM Blai, we'll gossip about her there :3c

Re: I Solemnly Swear That I'm Up To No Good

You have a good memory, xi0.
Yeah, I don't say I love you to my family very often at all, but I don't think that's very much of a problem since it is implied. I prefer to tease them a lot. That how people usually know I love them. XD I guess I just have strange ways of showing it.

I have never said I love you to a boyfriend that I've had. For some reason, it's insanely difficult. I usually dodge it and say things like "You're the best" or "you're my favorite".

bf: "I love you"
me: "Awwwwww, thanks."

Does that make me seem like a bitch? :fail

Re: I Solemnly Swear That I'm Up To No Good

I am about the same as you Nao, in the sense that I very rarely say the phrase "I love you" to relatives, nor to my best friends (unless we're having a deep drunk/high conversation) but I believe it's a psychological problem I have. One amongst many.

:fail Omg, I do that too. Usually, after the days I get really drunk, I get to hear all my friends gush about how they were really startled at how nice I was to them last night and that "I love you too, girl"! XDDDD :notrust

Does this make me the female version of Blai...? :iik

Those are perfect words for it.

It's not detachment, because I definitely love my best friends and family. No doubt about that.
But yes, I just have trouble being vulnerable about it. xP I'm getting all weird feeling just talking about it.

Yup. I'm too afraid to say it in case they for one reason or another disappear from my life. For example, there are details about my life that I, just until recently told my best friend about and I've known him for twelve years and he's told me everything. I just feel that if I tell them things I don't want them to know about me, they'll leave me instead of support me. Even if I know they won't leave it feels like they will, a part of me refuses to share love and trust.

Also, nao, if you get to know me you'll realise I'm pretty awesome so being my emotionally disturbed female twin wouldn't be that bad of an idea.

I actually found a friend who completely understands my intimacy issues (although she doesn't have them) and I've only known her for 4 years. She's definitely a keeper. <3

I think my issues might have to do with moving a lot as a kid, because I wasn't always like this. I wonder if something like that could happen.

I have a long lost twin? T-twinkies? :wtf

And yes, it's prolly some mental trauma you have. Traumas doesn't always mean your body will be in shock upon experiencing a certain feeling / setting etc but can be something as "taboo'ing" the feeling of being completely open and vulnerable to someone and creating this "shell" in which you keep certain things you "can't" say.

Re: I Solemnly Swear That I'm Up To No Good

Saying "I love you" is too cheesy and nowadays redundant since it gets spammed. I wouldn't tell anyone or share with anyone anything secret or intimate, unlike you two, no matter how close they are. Mostly because I'm paranoid and I can't ever trust anyone as history has taught me that trust is a delicate thing that people love to break. I've trusted some friends with stuff and it came back to bite me in the ass, so fuck that.

Either of you believe in asking for help if needed or just doing it all yourself? :o

Naom, why'd you move a lot?

Re: I Solemnly Swear That I'm Up To No Good

The meaning of such a phrase is fully subjective. It's not "too cheesy" to say just because people use it, maybe more than they should. It carries a subjective meaning that differs from one person to another and to me it's the most difficult phrase to say, regardless of how the rest of the people interpret it, or use it.

Re: I Solemnly Swear That I'm Up To No Good

Like always, those kind of statements are my opinions. I think that saying "I love you" is cheesy, unless it's really meant. I'd say it to a girl I love, but if it's a girl I liked, I'd feel too cheesy and probably fake for saying that.

Oh, and I don't think I meant to say it's cheesy because people overuse it. It's cheesy and people tend to overuse it, two different reasons why I wouldn't say "I love you" a lot.

If you weren't being serious, would it be easier to say? Like if someone does you a favor, would it be easier to say "love ya"? It would be for me, oddly enough. Guess it depends on the mood as well?

If it's not for a person you love then you wouldn't say it as it would be nothing else but a lie.

Even then, it can sound weird because you're not 100% sure if you love the person or not. It can also be lust that makes you think you love them. Life is very complicated. :(

Welllll, there really isn't very much romance, no. There has only been one kiss in 206 chapters that I recall, and it was one-sided at that. XD I love it for the art, plot line, and character development. I think there are many unique things anout D.Gray-Man that catch my interest. Plus, it's what got me into manga. Your first love never goes away as they say.

Do you like blondes? Don't even think about it. :notrust

It's weird how I've acknowledged this issue and all, but still continue to have it.

Naom, why'd you move a lot?
I scatter my secrets. I've revealed several of my deepest ones, but never all to one person. It's like spreading my investments. That way, I don't lose it all to one person's betrayal or anything like that. It's like business in a way I suppose.

I moved a lot because my dad switched jobs frequently. Then my parents got a divorce, and I don't live with him any longer so I don't move around anymore. Even to this day, I'm afraid to root myself. The last move I had was too sad for me I guess. :sweatdrop

I have a job interview tomorrow :yay

[c]GL on the interview~[/c]
