It took me a while to get used to Gon's new hairstyle actually, but at this point I do prefer it to 1999/early manga art.

BTW...remember when Neon learns of Dalzollene's death...and well just plain doesn't care.
And how that makes us think she's a bit rather selfish.

What about Kurapika?

Yes he did show remorse at Dalzollene and the others deaths. But yet at the same time it was because of Dalzollene's death
that he was able to speak directly to the boss and he seemed pleased with that. Do you think perhaps on some level
Kurapika was actually GLAD for Dalzollene's death?

To be fair, 1999's character design of Gon merely reflected Togashi's art style at the time. He really did look like that till about the middle of Greed Island. Togashi himself even commented that his art style changed dramatically during each of the hiatuses. MH's adaption reflects the most recent Gon design, which is fresh in our minds; hense our appreciation of it more.

I think it looks a bit static in the manga to be honest. His hair in the current anime looks a little more like his hair looked in the Hunter Exam arc. I prefer the way it looks like in the anime than the way it looks like in the latest manga chapters. In the case of the Nippon anime, they only got it right in the Greed Island OVAs imo.

Kite's hair. I'm really interested to see what they pick for a color.

Hisoka definitely. At first I didn't really like his wavy hair, but now I prefer it over the way it looks like in the manga. And I love the colours! Hisoka and the other four look great in the current anime, especially their hairstyles.

Kurapika wasn't glad he died i think, it's just that he took advantage of the situation. More like he choose his goal over his feelings. Also he's in a better position to avenge his lost comrades.

Yeah i really want to see Kite. Hopefully they choose a hair color i favor.. lol

Well...not glad so much that Dalzollene is dead but more glad that he's one step closer to his goal.

Something to think about---if Dalzollene had not died what would happen to Kurapika?

I wouldn't say he was glad he died, but moreso ambivalent. Sure, he's one step closer to his goal, but I think he'd be there regardless. I mean, even if Dalzollene were still alive, Kurapika could still go after the spiders. I get the impression no one would've stopped him if he had to step out and take care of something as long as it didn't interfere with a job he had to do at that moment.

Favorite hair? I'll have to say Hisoka, Machi, and Neon. Who do I want to see in the future? Kite, of course! And Biscuit.

I think Togashi depicts her hair (Biscuit)'s as being blond, I am okay with anything that isn't pink, green or blue this show sorta overuses those colors at the moment.

Right now I'm more concerned with how THIS arc is adapted.

Hunter Exam arc---Excellent in spite of the heavy but at the same time well thought out censorship and lack of Kite

Zoldyck Arc--A shaky start but a great finish

Heavens Arena--Brilliant

Whale Island--Awesome..though Kite flashback would have made it better

Yorknew-- Mixed feelings. Some of it is really great but other parts are really disappointing. This is the make it or break it arc.

Agreeing with everyone here. Hisoka's hair looks awesome, whether it's up or down. I also like how Gon's hair looks more... dynamic, so to speak. And Killua's hair looks fluffy.

I'm looking forward to Kite's hair too. I wouldn't mind brown or red, but I think it's be interesting to see it in blue or purple. I think I saw one picture where his hair was like that, hence my thoughts. I'm also looking forward to seeing

Also the reason I would like Kite to have red hair is because it'd make his transition into Chimera Kite much more fluid and easier to understand that it is Kite and remember that it is him. Blue hair Kite just looks weird to me even though technically it exists within the manga canon.

Actually no I'm not disliking Yorknew that much. I still like it. It's more the stuff I dislike about it...I REALLY dislike.
I'm hoping Yorknew will end up like the Zoldyck arc. A shaky start but then a great finish.
I admit that Yorknew has been thus far the weakest of the arcs for me---SO FAR.

Heavens Arena--9 out of 10
Whale Island--9 out of 10
Yorknew--7 out of 10 so far--If it gets better than 8 out of 10.

So pretty much I rate Madhouse and Nippon's Yorknew as the same 7 out of 10...However I rate them as so for different reasons.

Phew. After suffering from a bad bout of depression for three weeks, I caught up on Hunter 2011...

Amidst the discussion, I just wanted to point out that this is what I do too when depressed.

There's no freaking way. GI is no shorter than YS and YS will probably last for 24 eps or more. So GI end would be around the Summer Season start.
