Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

Priscilla.
(She was close to a knight templar before her awakening after all and it was her defeat at Teresa´s hands that made her to the Big Bad of the story.)
Without Teresa, she might been a new one...
Claire would be dead though...

Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

Speaking of which, if Teresa haven't existed, who do you think would be the most Popular Claymore on the forums? =P
If your talking about with all other things being equal, like who is the current second favorite, I'd defer to the favorite Claymore character poll http://mangahelpers.com/forum/showthread.php/33736-Favourite-Claymore-character which is currently Clare, followed by Miria/Galatea. However if your saying Teresa didn't exist so that neither will Clare and the story would be different, well who could possibly say? We would have to experience this alternate world. Priscilla would probably not have awakened, Miria, Helen, and Deneve would probably have perished on the awakened being hunt they first did together, etc.

Can't say for definite, but I have a feeling the classier ladies would get top spots. Galatea and Irene definitely rank very high. For say, you wouldn't know what Clare or Helen etc. would become, but I'm certain Galatea would stay classy as always :verily

Actually now that I think about it, without Teresa, there would be no Clare as TStew says. The girl would remain nameless... how about in this alternate universe, it is Priscilla who saves her instead? :O

Not sure how i would feel about that , would be kinda cool.

But that just reminded me of something that always bugged me.....why were they giving Teresa missions to kill normal Yoma...she is the number 1 you would think shed be busy fighting awakened beings

has it been brought up how the org seemed to seek out awakened beings(like Roxanne and Cassandras era they seemed to be fighting awakened beings all the time....even the number 31 fought awakened beings all the time), yet when Teresas generation came around they never actively sought out awakened beings , and then after the peita they started seeking them out again?
just seems off that Teresa was sent to kill 6-7 yoma, when Noel and Sophia said that "any one of us could have taken on the yoma presence here" when referring to the yoma hive-that makes be believe that a number 5 could take on a entire village of yoma....why was the number 9-4 not sent out to slay a mere 7 yoma.

unless this has to do with the "section" of the island each warrior is assigned to i never quite understood that like are they given an area to protect/if a village asks the org for help they send the warrior whos "section" that village is in ?....so Teresa was sent to kill those 7 yoma in that village because it was located in her area?

no.12, I'll give you an answer but you'll probably not like it. I'm sure that was all done for effect and progression of the story. Teresa's arc was early on in the series. We didn't even know what an awakened being was yet, that was to be revealed later (at that point we thought warriors that went over their limit turned into yoma). But they had to portray Teresa as supremely powerful so fighting a huge group of yoma was about right along with the progression (we had only seen fights with fewer yoma up to that point). So they showed her prowess well without giving away what an awakened being was yet. I am sure she would have fought many awakened beings at various times, there was a flashback at some point about one of her fight with an AB wasnt there? But to make it seem more realistic and less per script, you could probably imagine that she happened to be the closest to the area when the request came in. Like maybe she was hunting an awakened being in a bordering town at the time, and needed an easy job to allow herself to rest a bit. Plausible? :hmm

They are divided into different sections of the island, probably most kakuseishas left Teresa's territory when they felt her youki, they are intelligent like that.

Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

Not sure where to post this,

But i was re reading Claymore and was wondering have we ever seen another warrior evade a sword swing the way Roxanne did on the bottom right panel? It kinda looks like a dust eater variation ?

Not exactly as she did, but there's:

http://www.mangastream.to/claymore-chapter-26-page-32.html - Top left panel, looks like Teresa's falling down to her left a little to avoid the swing,

http://www.mangastream.to/claymore-chapter-30-page-14.html - Top right panel, it's not too similar but it's still an unorthodox way to dodge.

http://www.mangastream.to/claymore-chapter-101-page-5.html - Bottom right, pretty sure that's as close to the Dust Easter as you can get.

Ok cool, so its probably just a odd way of evading.
or maybe it is something Roxanne devised after seeing the dust eater.

Alicia could be the same, i assume in her training they taught her all the ability's of older Number ones(more so the ones that would improve evasion and power).
I also think the org has files on exactly how each warrior preformed there ability's.

In my eyes, Raki is still rank 1 for Dust Eater clones.
Now that i look at it , he kinda dose look like he is using dust eater....even his sword swing had a "Dust eater" vibe to it.

Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

That's just how claymores evade close attacks I think, but dust eater is much different, it's a pendulum really , to use it completely one must start moving a little then executing the long moves (just like Cassandra did with her little head movement). Anyway I would really like to see how Roxxane "died" , must have been something crazy maybe her own fault a just for boredom seeing as she didn't seem upset about her death at all.

Re: Claymore Hang-out Thread

Speaking of the Dust Eater, ever wondered what he leg movements would be like? I can understand some of them like how she would be facing down and would flip around, but do you think Cassandra would do a whole jump up and dive sort of thing as well?

I to have wondered how she moves her legs in dust eater , i would love for someone to fully explain how Dust eater works, i get the pendulum thing, but how dose she move her legs, is she "slithering" or just running with her back/face as close to the ground as she can get? all kinda confuses me.

Detox- I think Roxanne may have been killed by trickery(the org tricked her into a situation in which she died in) but i think its probable that it was one of the other "Top 8" that took her out(we know it cant be Teresa, Hysteria, or Cassandra). I think we are going to get a "extra scene" that will show us Roxannes death and the warrior who killed her, and at the end of the extra a Man in Black will say "good work Sistina you are now the new number 1" and it will end(or something like that)

Yeah I agree. Those examples are just avoiding a sword, nothing really special beyond a bit more extreme dodge than most. Though I am not read up completely, just a little ways past the reveal of the Dusteater actually, I think the dust eater is an attack, not a dodge, and of a much longer sequence of things to make it happen (starting with the wobbling, etc), and ends with the face slidingacross on the ground, which is quite different.

I've always imagined it as her feet being flat on the ground in the same place (maybe balancing on her toes or heels when she manoeuvres around) except for when she flips her body over or when she actually moves somewhere, the rest is just her using her flexibility to get closer to the ground. Like at the start of Chapter 118 I can imagine her leaning forward then twisting her feet round to flip her body over. Through her entire Dust Eater sequence in 118 it looks like her feet are flat on the ground, especially here . I guess that does stick to the pendulum idea if she's swinging around without actually moving anywhere.
