Discussion New Roles and New Rules Suggestion Thread

Submissions for new roles need to follow the next format in order to be considered:

I. [Place Holder Name]

II. [Affiliation]

III. [Short Description]

IV. [Long Description/Idea/Premise/Scope]

V. [Priority/RoleType/Interactions/other Specifics]

III. Can once per game make a Day phase lynch be the top 2 voted people instead of regular 1 top voted person. Every player has 2 votes but cannot vote the same player twice.

IV. PMs the host on the night before the day he wishes to use his power on. Host announces at start of day that the 2 top voted players will be lynched.
Everyone gets 2 votes that they can use on 2 individual players. Both can be moved once like usual. Example:
!votekill1 PlayerX
!votekill2 PlayerY
!votelock2 (locks on PlayerY).

Any other format is also fine as long as players specify who they are voting and if it's a new vote or they are changing their first one.

V. Doesn't have a Priority, happens at the end of night after all other actions. Doesn't target another player. Primary role.

Since it happens at the end of a phase, the player can be both blocked and killed to prevent it happening.

I. Psychiatrist

II. Townie

III. The Psychiatrist investigates one person per night phase to see if the player has a Secondary Role. They get a "Your target has a secondary role" if that is the case, and a "Your target does not have a secondary role" if it's not. The Psychiatrist does not find out the allegiance of the target.

IV. It's a counter for scum secondaries without outright revealing them, leaving room for guess work and player reading.

V. Priority 2, Primary Role.

Rules on including those in a game:

• A host can take any of these roles and test them in their game. Depending on results from testing the role it will either be included into the Role list or need more changes/testing.
• A host at the very least has to announce in the opening post of the game that new roles are being tested, or alternatively even more specifically reveal the roles that are being tested.

Actually that sounds interesting. But how would that Zombie work, for instance in combination with Jesus? Will he rise twice, like first as Zombie Jesus, then normal?

That can be added and tested some time too. A Mafia Member that can't perform kills, who thinks he can though.

then a naive townie would be nice too, votes but his vote doesn't count. (It's listed but if it's not counted and that causes a tie host flips a coin)

Time Traveler - The Time Traveler hates spam and can travel to 1-2 pair of future phases (e.g. Pair of Phase: Day 2 & Night 2) He/She will return in the game when it reaches the phase he/she went to. The Time Traveler will not be able to join the next game if the game ended before it reaches the phase he/she went to because he/she was trapped. To correct the time paradox, he/she needs to wait for another mafia game to end in order to travel back in time. Anyone who targets the Time Traveler during his/her travel will be with him/her in the future. That player will be trapped as well if the game ends before reaching the phase they went to. The Time Traveler can PM the host anytime if he/she wants to use his/her ability.

e.g.
Day 2 - Time Traveler goes to Day 4. Day Time Vigilante targets Time Traveler.
Day 3 - Last Two Remaining Mafias was lynched and killed by Cowboy. End Game.
Time Traveler and Day Time Vigilante will be trapped in Day 4 and will not be able to join the next game.

The time traveler's activity and if someone got tangled with the Time Traveler will not be announced. The Time Traveler and the one who got tangled with him/her will be obvious when the host doesn't hostkill the "inactive players" who's now in a different phase of the game. The mystery of who the time traveler is and who is the one who got tangled will be mysterious then. The time traveler can be a mindfucker in the game.

Here is one role Unlimited voter disease, it's a neutral role that travels from person to person each day phase. The one that has it last decides who gets it next. And it's not a standalone role, it's just an addition.

The person that has it can change his vote unlimited times in the day phase.

I kinda like it. And we can add more additional roles. I actually like them.

Today I was thinking that maybe we could have something like Mafia Teaser which would be something like Mafia Janitor but he could tell host what role to show of the target. Like :

Mafia kill person x, his role is y but when MT uses his ability he can tell host to say that person x was role z to confuse townies. He can use his ability only once cuz otherwise it would bee too OP ... or is it still OP or stupidy?

How about a Mafia Role that after being killed shows up to be a Townie. A vice versa Death Miller.

If the member will show up as Townie with no role, way better. If a Townie with no role dies, you add the possibility of that being a Mafia member into the picture and that's it.

In teaser role, you'd have to worry about it being used all the time, even it's one time only, not knowing when it'll be used or whether it's already used. Especially if a player is relying on logical breakdown more than what players have done in past games, he/she is likely to go demented with the overload of possibilities.

Threesome Candidate - You know when there are lovers in the game (and only you know that aside from them) and you can check the players at night to find out who they are. If you find one of them, you can join their third party.

What if he doesn't join them (because one of them dies or he can't find one), he's just a townie?

I guess, just like the other lover. I think he'd be too weak if he was a 3rd party from the very beginning and if he could be mafia it would be bad for the red team.
