Gray wins mid diff high diff possibly mi
with his secret power but i don't know
with his secret power but i don't know
Gray soloed bosses before, way back against Lyon in the Galuna Island arc.Neither did Gray solo any Boss. Just saying, Torafusa's defense was pretty strong. He could probably tank any of Erza or LFD Natsu's attacks seing that he was barely scratched by ISD Gajeel.
It's true that Gray is very strong in many ways. But what if Gajeel uses his Iron Shadow Dragon form? What if he turns into a shadow? Gray can't hit him at all with his spells. Even his strongest spells wouldn't have any effect on him because he is not actually there. And if Gajeel uses his Iron Shadow Dragon form, he is way better in defense and speed. Gray should be in a disadvantage then.Gray soloed bosses before, way back against Lyon in the Galuna Island arc.
Anyways, Gray should win mid-diff. Better stats. Better all around endurance, and stamina.
Ice Magic is pretty haxed as it has taken down even fire related enemies, so this argument of it not working against Steel is faulty given how this is a fictional manga that has zero reliance on physics.
Gray should whop Gajeel's butt.
Gray also has much better hype than Gajeel.
Gray can always catch Gajeel off-guard as well given his ice clone tricks. Not even someone like Silver was able to keep up. It all comes to tactics in the end, and Gray outpowers Gajeel in that regard. It's true that Gray is very strong in many ways. But what if Gajeel uses his Iron Shadow Dragon form? Gray can't defeat Gajeel just by using tricks.Yeah but gray can trick him with a clone no ?
Tricks will play a part in defeating Gajeel tho. Won't be the main factor ofcourse.Gray can't defeat Gajeel just by using tricks.
I know lol and he needs more feats too but he would be a hard battle for either of themGray can't defeat Gajeel just by using tricks.
Is there anything to back that statement or it's an assumption? I doubt it's something that can be do so easily. Also, you have to consider that gray himself would be in the area and he only subs in with clone. Odds are, even if Gajeel can tell it's a clone, the role of the clone would be achieved. It's only used as a distraction and not as though the Clone swaps to fight Gajeel for prolonged periods.Gajeel should be able to tell a clone from smell.
Gray is no smarter than Gajeel or Natsu in battle as far as I am concerned, they've all got good intellect for fighting.
It's an assumption. Gray can make the ice look a certain way, but smell I'm not so sure.Is there anything to back that statement or it's an assumption? It should be pretty clear by now to all that Silver was pretending and playing around with Gray, your whole point is just weak and invalid.Gray can always catch Gajeel off-guard as well given his ice clone tricks. Well gray mostly uses the clone to evade attacks or create an opening for one. It's not really a game changer but I do think he can possibly catch Gajeel off-guard with that. It's an assumption. Gray can make the ice look a certain way, but smell I'm not so sure.
If Gray can't project smell onto the clone Gajeel simply sniffs Gray out, then it's back to a normal fight.
If Gray can project smell onto the clone then Gajeel would be on guard as he'd smell 2 Grays. This may cause Gajeel to act defensively, changing the context of the fight. Gray could use this in a moment that Gajeel is overwhelming Gray.
Gajeel wouldn't be tricked from a clone though. There wouldn't be a "what? a clone?" panel if they fought.
That's inaccurate. Silver wasn't playing around with Gray. Infact, he was doing his best to seek despicable since he was trying to pass off as deliora. Sure he didn't fight all out but he was serious. I don't get why Gray's battle against silver keeps getting downplayed. Silver make things hard for Gray and didn't give him an opening to win because he needed gray to find a way to win by himself. It should be pretty clear by now to all that Silver was pretending and playing around with Gray, your whole point is just weak and invalid.
Gray and Gajell are pretty much equal the problem is if Gajell can use DF he can easily outclass Gray
So in your book letting someone win, while that person cant even make you move 1 inch from were your standing while leaving yourself open to attacks is being serious?????Well gray mostly uses the clone to evade attacks or create an opening for one. It's not really a game changer but I do think he can possibly catch Gajeel off-guard with that.

I believe DF wasn't allowed for this fight for Gajeel since it's a feat he's yet to display (even though he should have it).
Silver didn't let Gray win in the end. Gray was sacrificing himself with Ice Shell and Silver went full serious at the time.So in your book letting someone win, while that person cant even make you move 1 inch from were your standing while leaving yourself open to attacks is being serious?????
that logic.........
Any if DF is not allowed I still stand by statement that Gray and Gajell are pretty much equals
This isn't true at all.Gajeel should be able to tell a clone from smell.
Gray is no smarter than Gajeel or Natsu in battle as far as I am concerned, they've all got good intellect for fighting.
I don't know about Gajeel sniffing out Gray's clone... My initial thought on a Dragon Slayer's strong sense of smell was that they can only detect the presence of that person with their scent. So, if Gray used his Ice Clones and was still near the area, Gajeel would still smell his presence but wouldn't know the Ice Clones were fake. Therefore, I wouldn't go as far as to say someone like Gajeel can sniff out a clone so precisely. In fact, if that were true, Gajeel should have been Fairy Tail Team B's candidate during the Hidden Event regardless of Juvia's passion for Gray.Gajeel should be able to tell a clone from smell.

Gray's strategies aren't impressive, mainly because this manga isn't about strategy in fights. Sure Gray analyses but so does everyone else. Natsu and Gajeel both analysed Sting's DF after a scuffle. Basically when I think of intelligence I think 'do they use their magic well in battle'. All 3 imo do that, with none any better than the other. This isn't true at all.
Gray is extremely smarter than Gajeel/Natsu in battles. Mashima made this fundamentally clear, as Gray's victories compose of him 90 percent of the time outsmarting his opponents tactically and has far better feats than Gajeel/Natsu in that regard. Natsu and Gajeel aren't on his level in those attributes of analyzing opponents and finding their weakness.
It's akin to me saying Gray has equal amount of raw power in his attacks than Natsu.

I think the sense of smell is strong enough to tell that a clone in front of him doesn't have Gray's smell. Whether he can pinpoint the real location of Gray is another thing.I don't know about Gajeel sniffing out Gray's clone... Just like during the Tartaros Arc, Natsu was able to track down Erza and Mirajane who got captured but it took some time for him to accomplish the task or he would have just left and went to the Tartaros hideout immediately. What I'm trying to say here is that he can smell their presence and trace them directly to the location they are at but he can't exactly tell where they are like Cobra's hearing capabilities. Not to mention, if Natsu could do more than just smell their presence, he would have immediately gone to Erza or Mirajane in the Tartaros hideout instead of asking where they were.

I don't think it's a game-changer either even if he sells Gajeel the clone. Gray would probably back in his DeS now that he has that.Well gray mostly uses the clone to evade attacks or create an opening for one. It's not really a game changer but I do think he can possibly catch Gajeel off-guard with that.
What you deem "impressive" is irrelevant. It doesn't change the fact that Gray's fights are based upon tactics, and less on strategy. There's a difference between strategy and tactics, and Gray happens to be a very good tactician, and is 3 tiers above Gajeel/Natsu in that regard. No one in the manga analyses shit overall other than Gray, and a few characters.Gray's strategies aren't impressive, mainly because this manga isn't about strategy in fights. - I don't think GMG games count for much. Why put Natsu/Gajeel on chariot... They were having fun. They didn't put Laxus in any event either, while he would have been the strongest on any team (excluding Jellal).
- Natsu was using smell at a long distance, different to a combat situation where they'd basically be in front of each other or in the same area.

I'll let you have the last word on intelligence in battle. I think it rates much lower than power/physical stats/mental toughness in terms of what is going to decide the outcome. What you deem "impressive" is irrelevant. Natsu and Gajeel merely analyzed their movements, they did not strategize or make tactics over it. Gray puts more thoughts into his battles, and there's no point in denying that. He happens to have the much better feats when push comes to shove and outclasses those two in that regard, and this shouldn't even be a debate at all. Gray's best suit is his intelligence, mobility and variety. and possibly he can add raw power to the mix hopefully with some good destruction DeS moves soon.
You don't know whether the smell is strong enough, because you have no reason of any proof of it. The onus is on you to prove that the sense is strong enough for Gajeel to sense it.
No, it's called an error that occurred in GMG... not about having fun at all. That's a simply ridiculous excuse made now by you. Even more ridiculous when the point of these competitions is to prove your Guild is in the tops. Did you not listen to Natsu's speech in the end of Chariot? Does that look like someone who has having fun?
1. Silvers plan was to let Gray win from the beginning, and he didn't get serious he was worried about his son sacrificing himself to win, don't just read understand please.1. Silver didn't let Gray win in the end. Gray was sacrificing himself with Ice Shell and Silver went full serious at the time.
2. Silver was using his des move slashes and gunning at Gray seriously and still couldn't dodge Gray's clones. Silver's decent reaction speed wasn't enough for him to dodge. This is a legit feat.
3. Gray can counter Gajeel's DF with his Demon Force. and relevantly Gray outclasses Gajeel.
4. Gray wins this fight. and yes I do consider them to be on the same tier overall, just Gray gets the slight edge for me .
