You know, the Kyubi/4thGear/Getsuga Tenshou/Adult Gon thing would have work in Black Clover if it was established early on in the story, like in other shounen series. It´s obvious this manga is made up on the run. Well, at least Pierrot will see the potential. Or what, Am I not allowed to state an opinion?
I think this is one of the rare moments where BC isn't asspulling something. The demon stuff has been hinted at since chapter 1 and reappeared in the water temple arc. It will probably be executed poor now, but it didn't come out of nowhere.

The Gon powerup on the other hand did come completely out of nowhere. HxH is pretty low on foreshadowing in general really, it explains things in depth after the reveal instead so people don't notice/bother about it much.

Funny thing is, I was hoping and expecting for Deku to go through something like this pre-Kamino if All Might dies. It wouldn't be some kind of hidden power awakened per se, but just a Deku that's been driven to the edge and utterly snapped using 100% OFA unconsconciously and miraculously, is not suffering the backlash/or the backlash reduced. And even, it'd still lead to development for his character.
That would have actually been detrimental to his character because Deku is being written as a kid that is developing through pure hard work and besides the meeting with All might, has not really been given any breaks. All Might only decided to make him his successor after he put himself in danger, stupidly and recklessly, to save Bakugo. Deku will be praised but he's never been considered as someone with a lot of talent, just a guy with a dangerous quirk. Very few people in 1-A and teachers as well itself actually consider him as someone to watch. Suddenly using his quirk would almost reverse this point and besides, even if he can, his body cannot withstand the actual full 100% OFA.

"Gon-san" yes came out of nowhere but the the process in which it came about was actually established prior in regards to how Nen works of course its just entirely vague like most everything in HxH so it seems like an asspull on every other level but given how Nen works and Gon being known as a prodigy in the field it makes sense.

That is indeed true, but there's what Deku said about using OFA more freely or more intuitively. So I was wondering if in a state where all sort of rationality and self-awareness goes out the window and is instead replaced by instinct or killing instinct in this case, would Deku be able to control OFA better?

Yeah, but in Naruto you have this moment when Naruto has his 1st instance of the Kyuubi transformation. And that was waaay before his battle vs. Gaara. How do you expect me to believe this thing in Black Clover with the lack in development of his demon stuff? It´s easy to forget that it was foreshadowed, and I actually forgot the foreshadowing, so a lack of development doesn´t excuse for this moment to happen.

That sounds awful

Isn't this on par for Jump? I know it might look like milking but at this point Naruto is just too much of Japanese society to just end it and Boruto's story might be fun to watch. Its the same with Dragon Ball. For kids, if their favourite show suddenly ends, that would be heartbreaking
Must be, and my first thought was milking which why I'm not sure how I feel... the Lee gag manga and anime was hilarious though. With this and the anime in a few months it's alot of Boruto coming our way. But the manga is terrible so far, although new material is coming next month.

This concept of milking doesn't really exist for series like One Piece, Naruto, Dragon ball etc. There's a term "国民的漫画" or manga known by everyone including people who do not read manga or watch anime. This includes series like Pokemon, Conan, Anpanman, Sazae-san, Doraemon etc. These series are a part of everyone's childhoods and are too much a part of Japanese Society's fabric that they simply cannot end. It helps that they will also continue to bring in profits but this huge influence means that continuations will continue, maybe even after the creators pass away like they did with Osomatsu-san which is another such series or more specifically Osomatsu-kun.

Apparently volume 12 of Hero Academia is getting bad reviews on Amazon JP.
From 4chan:
The newest volume is getting flamed in Amazon JP. It's the "provisional license exam" arc. People are calling it a redundant story that feels pointless after so many chapters of the heroes fighting villains. They also talk about how the setting is becoming too small and hasn't grown and the story is stagnating. They complain that Hori keeps introducing character after character and then not doing anything with them as well. One person complained that Ochako's crush on Deku could be better implement and that it doesn't feel cute or appealing right now.

I agree that it's the worst arc, but damn, it's not that bad

Yeah, I saw that on release day. It's not the best arc, but it certainly isn't a 1 or 2/5. It just looks worse by the fact that the previous arc was so good. It was a necessary arc, hardly redundant, and there were a lot of great character moments. I understand that Uraraka's moments in that arc are debatable though.

this was the Todoroki vs Inasa stuff right?

yeah, those chapters were not great

I remember I complained about some chapters being only 15 pages in this thread, I wouldn't notice they were so short if they were satisfying

Right....its best not to take these reviews seriously. Its far from a bad arc just one that needed to happen in transition between a huge event. Pic related was a bad arc as with everything involving Yato during this final stretch in Gintama yet it got 4.5 stars because of Kamui fangirls.
