I didn't get too much farther than I last spoke to you about it... I'm a slow reader, and Koe no Katatchi happened.

One thing that's been a bit of a problem for Kaguya-sama is that there seems to be no real story to it. Each plot is handled within the chapter so it's hard to immerse yourself. The battle of wits is quite entertaining and I love Kaguya (the male lead isn't particularly appealing). At this point I'd pick Neverland over it.

There are quite some names I have heard, but not read. Otoyoemagatari is about the woman who is married to a child, a series which has an incredible art? Saw a couple of panels on 9GAG, was really impressed. I tried to give the anime of Akatsuki no Yona a chance, but felt kinda annoyed by Yona herself. It seems that she has become quite the woman now, hasn't she? Jagaaaaaan was a tad too weird for me. ^^" I wanted to read Tomo-chan, unfortunately the +5xx chapters scared the hell out of me. u.u You have a thing for the romance genre?

Otoyomegatari is about marriage in central Asia in the 19th century, there are several couples featured. The main pair is the one you mentioned. It's a really charming manga (with some sad parts, epic parts too) and it is one of my favourites. The art is exceptional, especially with the embroidery detail.

Yona was meh to begin with for me as well. She has got a lot of good character development since the beginning, thankfully. Tomo-chan is only 1 page per chapter, and it comes out 1 chapter per day. It's pretty funny.

I don't have a thing for romance but I'll read them. Manga/anime romances are more appealing to me than Hollywood ones, which are cringe. What are your thoughts on this particular topic?

Until last season, I never followed anime weekly. So it is a good experience to watch them with you guys. I like to binge whole seasons if possible. You're watching Index/Railgun, how are you liking it? It is my next planned anime.

So, you better not mess with Brandish the country people demolisher, huh? It's not very popular here in Germany, thus I don't know how it's played. Yes I'm more into football (soccer doesn't trigger me xP), since I was born and raised in a football country such as Germany. Not to mention that in Turkey (where my parents come from) football is the most popular sport as well. But I only play it as a hobby with friends, and this even very rarely. It's not easy to come together with people of different ages who have different commitments in real life. Til 2011, I was a fanatic rooter of the Turkish club Besiktas, but the revelation of a big corruption scandal in the Turkish league took away my passion and interest. Or let's say the lack of proper punishment (for Besiktas as well) was the main reason. They literally swept the whole corruption scandal under the table. Well, it's no surprise since a lot of (big) clubs were involved and I don't have to tell you that the Turkish League Association wouldn't risk to take the financial consequences of an enforced relegation for those clubs. Anyway, I still enjoy to watch football, but not with the passion I had back then.

Damn, I should stop googling those places you mention. Makes it harder to not pack my things and book a flight to Brandish's mansion. It will be so fun if I think about it.

Guess you are right with Otoyomegatari. It's not like I've heard much about it, but when I did it was only praised.

About Yona, I often see some panels here and there and as I said before, it looks like Yona developed a lot. Especially in the recent chapters, there seems to be a lot going on? Anyway, it's interesting to see that Yona had a rough start for you as well.

I can't remember watching a non-anime romance tv show ever, so that should probably answer your question. xD As for movies, there are probably a couple I've watched, but I can't even name you a single one. That also says much I think.

I just finished Index/Railgun yesterday. I can wholeheartedly recommend it you. Well to be honest, Index is not that special in my opinion unless certain characters appear. It's still good though. Railgun on the other hand is very good, especially Railgun S is an awesome, adorable and thrilling ride.

I like Mahoutsukai a lot 2 eps in, and I do plan to start the manga.

I'm asking myself why I mentioned SnK, it feels kinda random in the convo. Not that it matters, I absolutely love SnK as a watcher and reader. I know there are a lot of people who didn't like the recent revelations and change of scenes (I hope I don't spoil that much), but I was more than fine with it and looking forward to each chapter.

I read a couple of manhwas:

Just to name some examples: no development whatsoever in Girls of the Wild's + neglect of the once appealing genre, boring repetitiveness in Noblesse in regards to plot and fights and plot stagnation in DICE.

As for The Gamer, I wouldn't advise against it. In my opinion, it's just not my cup of tea because it lacked a certain seriousness in the plot I was hoping for and thus the tension was missing for me. It also had a lot of boring, repetitive stuff. I include the term "boring", because repetitiveness generally is not a deal breaker for me as long as it is executed in an interesting way. But maybe @Jammin can tell you more about The Gamer. I guess a lot has happened since I dropped it.

So, if I were to recommend a manhwa, it would definitely be Tower of God as it has an amazing and hilarious cast (especially badass female ones), a fascinating world building (even though it gets not explored as much as I want), incredible art (the art improves a lot later) and a very mysterious plot. Holt picked it up too and he is amazed as far as I can tell.

As for The Gamer, I wouldn't advise against it. In my opinion, it's just not my cup of tea because it lacked a certain seriousness in the plot I was hoping for and thus the tension was missing for me. It also had a lot of boring, repetitive stuff. I include the term "boring", because repetitiveness generally is not a deal breaker for me as long as it is executed in an interesting way. But maybe @Jammin can tell you more about The Gamer. I guess a lot has happened since I dropped it.

It's gotten better. It still has the issue it had when you dropped it though. That being the transition from a RPG parody into more of a normal contemporary supernatural battle webcomic. And that was kind of it's main selling point. Without that it's good but not amazing.

The thing I recommend people read now is 4 Cut Hero.(you can also find it on most manga reader type sites) It is absolutely amazing. Easily one of the best manhwa's and by far the best comedy.

Otoymegatari is the stand out for me. I recommend it without hesitation. Also it's not really a romance despite being a manga about brides (I don't want to give that impression). It's more about those people's customs pertaining to marriage.

Gosh, those pages are outstanding. I think the second one is the first picture I saw in the web. Just staring at them makes you want to read the series, even if it's only for the art. But yeah, I'm more than convinced that the series as a whole is a great read. I won't pickup a new series any time soon, but I will note this for the future. I might pick up this one or Kaguya-sama based on your future recommendation. For now, I plan to read Made in Abyss, Kimetsu no Yaiba and Railgun. Tomo-chan, Kaguya-sama/Otoyomegatari and 4 Cut Hero (because Jammin doesn't stop hyping it) might be next. I'll pass on Yona.

Haha, niichan recommended it to me once, but I didn't pick it up for whatever reason. Ultimately, I picked it up because of the WW and Alpharez campaign. Mikoto Misaka won't disappoint at all. I won't spoil you that much, but before I watched Index/Railgun I thought she would be difficult to like at the beginning, because she is often ranked at the top of every tsundere list I saw. But... just watch it!

Right, it has become quite controversal lately. Well, when a lot of mystery is involved in a series, people get easily disappointed about the revelations. I can't really blame them, because the mystery part is one of SnK's charm and revelations - whether they are good or not - kinda "take away" the thrill and suspense, obviously. Revelations hardly do good to a series.

On top of that, the author - how do I describe it without spoiling too much - kinda shifted the scenery. I didn't dislike this shift, but I can understand why others do. Again, it's hard to explain without spoiling. All I can say is that SnK is one of my favorite ongoing series.

Yes, that's at least my humble opinion. But you shouldn't base your decision on that. @Lady pompom-chan still reads Noblesse and enjoys it? The Gamer is in @Jammin's top 5 ranking.

In regards to The Breaker:
It is indeed very popular (well that is... as popular as manhwa can get of course ^^"). There are two parts "The Breaker" and the "The Breaker New Waves". I would recommend the first part without hesitation. It's a really good martial arts series. As for New Waves (which is a continuation), there were a lot of things I didn't like. Little focus on characters who have/had a lot of potential, the MC kinda failing to man up, weird powerlevel handling (sometimes) or the end of the last arc (). Well, I don't want to shit on New Waves. It has cool fights, some incredible characters and the story is more than fine. But I belong to the minority who doesn't like New Waves as much as the first part. New Waves is well received by most people. So, if you decide to read The Breaker, you sure should read New Waves as well, even if it's just because of that one character whose name I won't tell ya. If you ever thought Whitebeard is the most badass old dude, be prepared: there is someone more badass!

No, I haven't heard of Priest. You are better off asking @Jammin such questions, because he still checks new/other manhwas out as opposed to me.

I don't think you're in the minority regarding New Waves @syx it was a pretty heavy loss in quality overall, and I feel like that's something most people agreed with. The sole exception was the old guy whose name shall not be mentioned, he was epic

Why are you guys not mentioning the #1 thing @Brandish needs to know before reading Breaker? I feel like there is a very important fact you haven't made enough of a point to mention and recommending Breaker to someone without mentioning that thing is like guiding a blind man off a cliff.

Anybody thinking about reading it needs to know it's on long term, possibly permanent, hiatus. And not like at a natural stopping spot either. Why are you guys not mentioning the #1 thing @Brandish needs to know before reading Breaker? I feel like there is a very important fact you haven't made enough of a point to mention and recommending Breaker to someone without mentioning that thing is like guiding a blind man off a cliff.

Anybody thinking about reading it needs to know it's on long term, possibly permanent, hiatus. And not like at a natural stopping spot either. Oh god, I failed so hard... Seriously, before I started to write my post, I was permanently reminding myself "don't forget to tell that The Breaker is on indefinite hiatus, don't forget to tell that The Breaker is on indefinite hiatus, don't forget to tell that The Breaker is on indefinite hiatus" and then I DID FORGET IT! >.<" I even went as far as to tell Brandish to read it. I don't think you're in the minority regarding New Waves @syx it was a pretty heavy loss in quality overall, and I feel like that's something most people agreed with. The sole exception was the old guy whose name shall not be mentioned, he was epic

Is that so? I had the feeling that I was talking to a wall sometimes. I still have the feeling that New Waves is well received overall, dunno, maybe my mind is playing tricks on me.
