Still can't help but find the idea of being a completionist in most cases to be a cringey reason to hang onto something that's no longer entertaining or fun but honestly I get it. Boruto probably is the best example that relates to this. I still enjoy the world of Naruto and its lore enough, when the old cast pops up, the curiosity if Naruto dies or not. The manga from day 1 has been incredibly low quality though, and seems to get worse as the series goes on. So yeah I much rather be a completionist than a masochist, that stuff is for straight up weirdos. Makes no sense.
Looks like the japanese readers agree with this.

You can see a big downwards trend of volumes sold. Compare the 1st to the 4th volume. Both of them started with the same amount of days and after 5 weeks volume 4 sold 124k less than volume 1.

Was beel a complete flop though? I mean, yeah it wasn't a huge success but it was more comedy than action I'd say.
If you consider it as a comedy manga, it did pretty well. Furuichi was one of the funniest characters WSJ had since maybe anything from Gintama.
But yeah, if you talk about it as a battle manga, I'd say it didn't do well.
yeah, the manga had almost 200 chapters and an anime. It was in some way succesful. Maybe not in the way that Shueisha wanted but it had some.

Does anyone there read D.Gray.Man? I wanted to start reading, but the quarterly chapters discouraged me. Is the manga nearing its end? it's good?

DGM starts as a exorcists battle shonen with cool Gothic aesthetic and follows the contained yet fun adventures of a quirky and lovable characters with clear-cut goals

it starts going downhill after the Noah ark arc when it catches the DBZ disease and starts introducing bigger and bigger and bigger threats that comes out of no where

the plot have become unnecessary convoluted, meanwhile the battles degraded into people yelling about friendship while ramming into each other over and over again

I lost interest in it ages ago so I don't know if it close to ending and I don't care

Um what? How did you even get that translation? He is apologizing for melt down after working very hard on episode 17 and that the staff are exhausted. He also said in another tweet prior to this that he'll disclose something after episode 17.
No where in that tweet is he talking about the staff. He literally says "Next week's BC episode 17, lots of stuff "melted".... It's a lack of my own ability. I'm very sorry." No where there did he mention anything about staff and you don't say "力不足" unless something went wrong. What he's talking about exactly, we'll have to see on Tuesday. It might be overblown and just a few wonky frames but the director of a TV series doesn't just come out and apologize for his lack of ability if he's saying "we worked very hard and the staff are exhausted". Umakoshi tweeted out after a Heroaca episode that one animator worked very hard and it was in a praising, congratulatory tone. This is not in such a tone. Again, this might be overblown but we'll see the specifics on Tuesday.

In regards to his previous tweet :

He's saying he wants to announce something after Episode 17 airs and followed that with that crying emoji. He could be joking around but he doesn't confirm that something will be announced. Something might be announced or it might not.

Instead for me is the less interesting thing.

In fact it is normal for old volumes to sell more than new ones.

Oh wow, that's a definite drop. Look at numbers of volume 3 and 4 in their fifth week itself. Yeah, 3rd volume has 2 days more of sales but it's only 2 days and the 4th volume should've been covered up in those 5 weeks.
There truly is a limit to how much they can milk the Naruto cash cow.

But another way to look at is since this is running off Naruto's buzz, many would've tried getting into the series with the first few volumes and since they didn't like it, they would've stopped by 3rd volume or 4th. Meaning, we might see the sales stabilize at some point after dropping a bit more either in the next volume (5) or the one after that.

The cover of Golem Hearts is the best of the new series.
But the WNL cover is the best of the month.

Do you guys agree with the notion that Kubo created the greatest dynamic between a male and female character in shonen? If not greatest then top 3? I was watching Eyepatch's video on what makes a character feel real which reminded of this debate I've read during Bleach's ending on character writing and bonds.

HQ preview for next issue (leaking this week)
New anime info for MHA coming next issue, as well as new info on the anime and 2nd live-action movie for Gintama.
Also somehow missed that Soma's color page is for its 5th anniversary as well as new volume release.

I'm deadass I swear! Bleach's pitfalls have been exacerbated for a while but when I thought about it the most praise I've seen Bleach garner is from Soul Society and the main characters' bond. The post broke down how Kubo finessed a dynamic to make it more than we realized and interpreted, bringing up old interviews of the origin of the two from their names to their ashetics. It wasn't any triggered shipper post either but had slight bias. Like in general sense has there ever been a good dynamic in modern Jump among opposite genders?
