Could Nekoma somehow beat Karasuno

Though with Bokuto's lines, feels like it could be suggesting a Fukuradani loss....against Karasuno.

I wonder how long this match will be, another 40+ chapter thing.

Nekoma v Karasuno is off to a really exciting start. WE really need a new season.

I really doubt that they would, Nekoma at least gets a set but Karasuno should be the winners. The whole build up regarding how Karasuno has had a losing record in practice, Hinata and Kenma's interactions etc, it all suggests that this is a Karasuno win.

Chapter 297 is out!

We're 27 chapters and 3 sets (up to Ch 320) in Karasuno vs Nekoma, and we finally get to see Tsukishima vs Kuroo, and how Tsuki's begun to really enjoy volleyball thanks in part to Kuroo.

Yeah it was amazing seeing him on the same level but I think kuroo will best him. Experience etc.

Absolutely loved this chapter. Finally, Kenma submits to volley. Hinata wins.

Last two chapters were absolutely intense. Very fast paced but still every point was quite clear and lots of tension in them. Kenma acting like volleyball-head at last. :zomg Still seeing it all in video game terms, but still. :amuse

Unfortunately, for everyone around, specially Hinata... it is all over. Great ending to a great match! Kenma thanks Kuro for getting him to volleyball. Such sweet characterization scene. That page transition was so fantastic. Karasuno finally but tiredly defeats their rivals Nekoma. We move on.

Last page of this chapter seems to tease they are going in next round against Fukurodani.

Ok, quarter-final duels are decided:

Karasuno vs Kamomedai (the team with the other ''little giant'').
Fukurodani vs Mujinazaka

Fukurodani vs. Mujinazaka started at least. In the end, Fukurodani would probably win, right? :) I mean if Fukurodani and Karasuno don't face off in this tournament, it will be somewhat anticlimactic and definitely out of style. My bet is Fukurodani loses the first set but ends up winning two out of three.

So did Mujinazaka blockers -btw that name is so long to write- just commit blocked that other guy on Fukurodani instead of Bokuto for one time, because they predicted Akaashi's thinking?

Wakatsu's spike seemed incredibly powerful, still, in the last page Akaashi and others were more interested in the setter, I couldn't understand that part very well. Did he do something special?

Bokuto is always so fun to read/watch :^_^:^_^ Really looking forward to the next chapter.

Hey, Bokuto in color pages :super

Bokuto was so much like Hinata on the last page. Maybe in the following chapters, he will fall short on a technical standpoint to Kiryuu but own him when it comes to spontaneity, sense, and passion. A little bit like Ushiwaka vs Hinata?

After Fukurodani vs Mujinazaka, we get a small rewind into what happened during the other match occuring at the same time, Karasuno vs Kamomedai, aka the new battle of the Little Giants. To top it off, there's a surprise character coming in to join the audience in watching the match, and it's one you might not have expected!

Haha, amazing! Asahi finally got that point. I felt a push would be the best option with that high set and the 3 blockers already prepped, but I never really thought he would go through with it. It's great to see the Ace rising again. Kamomedai have been quite the opponent so far
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

I felt it was a nice touch with Asahi referring to those monsters with Hinata and Tobio in there. This point will do wonders for karasuno. After a long rally like that, for Asahi to best the 3 blockers again is no mean feat. Things sure are about to get really exciting

Just read the latest 7 chapters in one go. Was sooo satisfying to finally see Asahi get over his anxieties and smash it through. :shakefist

This game is so gooood. Was worried after the perfection that was the Nekoma game the series might feel like it’d slump a bit but nope!

What a friggin’ way to leave us hanging with that last chapter though. :twitch

Aight, Kei is getting back on the court. I’ve been wanting to see something happen for some chapters:

They made a big deal about how "blockers are just targets" to Korai, because he just slams the ball off their fingers and gets the point.

Thus, I hope Tsukki sets up a perfect block, baiting Korai into doing his off-the-fingertips smash, and then timing it just right pulls his hands away so Korai just smashes it out of bounds.

It’s what I’ve been thinking every time Korai pulls that move. “Just move your hands so he slams it into thin air!” :XD Obviously they can’t do that - they have to try to block him - but just doing it once I feel could work. Would be satisfying if Tsukki won them the set like that even.

A-HA! Called it! :tem

Kamomedai is truly frightening. How aren't these guys the best? I feel they would half pummel teams like Shiratorizawa tbh. Their coordination is simply too exquisite. This has been such a thrilling match. They clearly have the edge over Karasuno, but Kageyama and Hinata are bound to evolve soon. I can't wait for it. It's been a while since it felt like Karasuno weren't going to win. They've almost completely shut down the entire karasuno team, even the Kageyama x Hinata combo is being handled almost easily now. I also have big hopes for Tsuki. He's out on the bench observing now, I feel he might be the one to come up with something to boost Kayeyama and Hinata (who still have to evolve nonetheless). Truly a thrilling match so far.

Such a beautiful chapter. Hinata once again inspriring so many people. Seems Kamomedia are completely unable to handle him at the moment. Its amazing how far he has come, and how he keeps defying the odds and fighting head on. Gramps inner dialogue and clenched fist made this chapter a very easy 10/10

Absolutely, Furudate is a genius when it comes to which character’s POV to show at any given situation for maximum effect. Fantastic chapter.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Another great chapter. Loved the touch with Aome knocking the stool over because he reflexively moved his leg as well. Hinata fooling even the blockers watching him on TV. :amuse

Now would be a good time to up the pace a bit. The "one point per chapter" chapters are effective, but it could get slow if the rest of the game will be showed like that.

And I'm at a point where I don't know what else could happen in this game to solve any inner conflicts or restraints in the characters. I feel like almost everything has been resolved at this point, except for the game itself. But then Furudate always has something up his sleeve to make things intense and climactic which I wouldn't have predicted, so looking forward to the coming chapters.

This is one of the real well-written manga. It constantly performs week after week.
So Hinata and Tobio are in full gear now. I guess even kamomedia's blockers are still human. This is the first time they were completely thrown around. Hinata is really in their head now, and who can blame them.

Hinata and Tobio are such a frightening duo. Too frightening. Tsuki is in now, and that's another crazy performer. He's gotten into the vibe as well, I suppose he's coming in to shut down koria. That needs to happen, because I feel Kamomedia's blockers are bound to find their feet again

Ayyyy. Rip Hinata. You were taken from us too soon.

o7

But seriously his workload this chapter was insane and when you add all that he's done in this match and the Nekoma game and how he didn't rest properly between the games it becomes apparent that he's going to reach his limits. It's a nice callback to the Shiratorizawa game too, when his legs just gave out and he couldn't jump on the block. Of course that time doesn't appear as serious as this time, because he could finish the game without being subbed. Right now we have to wait foe the next chapter to see how bad it's this time.

This was also one hell of a rally though.
  • The triple block getting Kageyama's dump,
  • Daichi's foot save/attack (hey Johzenji, first appearance in years, nice thoughts by Kita),
  • Tsukki's one touch on Nozawa's spike and Hinata's save,
  • Tsukki's run up and the spike from above the block( he really flew this time and was the art on point or what? The daclaration that he wouldn't be one upped + the shadowed art with just his eyes and teeth shining in white)
  • Kourai's save being admired by both Noya and Yaku
  • Gao spiking from above the block
  • Hinata saving(and Noya raising his fist while everyone else just screams)
  • and of course Hinata slaming the point from the ball he just saved while the flashbacks from the beginnig are being shown.
Jeez, reading week to week is just torture with the clifhangers, but so is waiting for the chapter to build up so that you can binge the game.

Haikyuu is probably my best manga at the moment. There's just so much emotion and awesomeness every week. Absolutely loved the chapter.

I certainly didn't expect Hinata to reach his limit though. Up till now he'd been smashing barriers and constantly getting better so the thought didn't even cross my mind. And hes still stealing the entire show. That last rally ending with him receiving and spiking was magnificent. Karasuno is in a real bind though. Pretty much all their points have come because of Hinata. Either him smashing home himself or being an amazing decoy. They're definitely going to struggle without him on the court. And worse, Kamomedia haven't exactly slowed down. The 3 blockers proved they're still at the top of their game by denying Kageyama and Tsuki. Asahi struggled a lot before breaking through. As things stand, I can't see karasuno beating Kamomedia without Hinata. It's been this close even with him, and each point is a hard fought rally. Without him it really looks bleak.

I suppose Tsuki's determination will not go to waste though. And we did see him really putting effort into his jump this chap. It could be something but it will take a lot more to make points against Kamomedia, much less winning the set. Guess it depends on how serious Hinata's situation is
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

It's hard watching like this. Karasuno is actually holding up better than expected, but I wonder if they can really pull it off. It seems so difficult, but it will be doubly painful for them to lose with this current team

why do i still believe kurasune cant lose this match?:facepalm ( well, dont get me wrong, i prefer they lose here so that hinata can progress and become ACE next season.)( also in that case, there will be a little chance to see boktou oshijima oikawa and others in the first year of university )

Isn't it over already though?

The chapter title gave it away. This loss was so painful even though it is not surprising at all and actually the sensible outcome. Hinata was already too much of a big blow, Tsuki also getting out made it a done deal. Korai's jump at the end was too beautiful. I didn't need to flip to know that was already a point.

It's a shame that the 3rd years don't get to win, but I'm so impressed with how well written this was. Karasuno at a point seemed near invisible and they've really come a long way. Their defeat was also perfectly done, regardless of how painful it was.

So I suppose Bokuto vs Korai finals. Kamomedia's team is too solid, though Bokuto has blown past opponents so far. Should be an interesting match. There's nothing that needs to be said to Karasuno. They truly played beautifully, but the first years need to work on stamina and fitness. Cos in the end, Tsuki an Hinata lost out on that.
