On the topic of HZ, I cant even imagine how long this current arc will be. Its essentially gonna be an entire arc of the 15 most significant characters fighting each other, with each fighter having 15 fights each. Im sure they wont all get focus, but it could easily be well over 100 chapters considering, which is interesting because if the anime isnt successful, it’ll probably get cancelled anyway. And its not like Ushio will even be close to his goal after this tournament either. Will be interesting.

Just end SnS so that Tosh can start his own manga in WSJ. A battle shonen or romcom written and drawn by Tosh with uncensored nipples in the tankobon version = next big thing.

Honestly, this is what I've said a couple of times. Tosh can truly draw great action pieces. All he needs is a good author, and not a hack like Tsukuda. I guarantee if Jump finds a good author for him, it will be one of Jump's future pillars alongside HeroAca.

So I just read the first chapter of Momiji no Kisetsu and really enjoyed it. Apart from the art looking off in some panels, it was a really good first chapter, probably the best one so far in 2018.

On the other hand, Kimetsu is the title that had the second highest number of color pages last year. And this year, 4.

I certainly wasn’t expecting it this soon, but I do hope the series does actually end here. No point exploring Blue or international or whatever with this level of writing. Though I doubt it will end. Can’t imagine it would be cancelled just yet given Jump’s current state, and Tsukuda isn’t a good enough writer to be able to end the series so assertively either.

After that interview a few months ago that showed how large of a role Morisaki played in how the story progressed, and them joking that Tsukuda should be listed as the advisor instead, I’ve realised that Dr Stone is pretty much the same thing. Both series with aspects that require specialist knowledge which is their main selling point and somewhat guides the series, yet when it comes to the story telling and parts that the actual author is in charge of, they fall flat. This was evident with Stone early on, hence the heavy shift to the more sciency aspects. At least Soma had a decent start and better characters. But there’s been practically no story telling in Stone since, which is kinda funny because it pretty much means that the fans want as little of Inagaki’s influence as possible... Weird seeing such a shift since I’ve heard ES was quite strong in that aspect. But it’s also interesting to see that more series seem to be taking this direction lately.

Stone and TPN are weird to read lately. Ideally i want Shokugeki no Souma to end on its anniversary in November, so a final arc of 24 chapters.

After not looking at Act-Age for a while, thinking that it was doomed, I actually think that it has a shot at surviving now. There has been a real "change" in tone, making it closer to a competition shounen with the proper introduction of the rival character, and it kinda matches with the rebound in the ranking.
