The old style was a billion = a million million, right? And a trillion = a million million million?I only wish that my countrymen had had the balls to keep our counting system (and an old school English billion makes far more sense, is neater, and far more beautiful, than the currently accepted 10^9)
We Swedes (and possibly other European countries, idk) still have that system today.
Which obviously makes it confusing when you’re just learning English and suddenly what we call a “miljard” (a thousand million) is called a billion, and a “biljon” (a million million) is called a trillion, etc etc.
