I read your entire post but you're calling me an idiot because I called out on your racist bullshit like this?
Definitely feels like you guys are being too free with your use of the word "Racist" here.
There are certain cultural things that are there in every manga/anime that won't be replicated by an outsider easily. It's not that they can't do it without training and trial and error. It's just not something that would come naturally to someone who is not from Japan.

Similar to the lines of how outsider cannot make a South Indian movie or even Bollywood movies for that matter. There are so many cultural influences that go into making a South Indian movie that outsiders will most definitely miss out. It's not racist to say that. It's just being grounded to reality. That doesn't mean outsiders CANNOT accomplish it. There would be exceptions because those exceptions would have studied the influences thoroughly.

Look. You've written reasonable points which are still debatable but I'm mainly responding to this quoted part.
All I said regarding race is that it bothers me a bit to see french (or any western) animators working in Japan solely over the fact that I like Japan being homogeneous as possible. It's a personal preference of mine as I mentioned.
Not sure if he worded it extremely poor because he's not talking about the things you've stated. There's no reason anyone should feel bothered about an outsider working in a different community.
Even in anime, it does bother me a bit to see French animators. Admittedly, it doesn't bother me to see Korean or Chinese (from asian countries) artist/animators
Also here's his first post. Key word here is "bother".

If this isn't racial bias then I don't know what is.

He said "personally". To him, someone from a different background might bring their way of animating/art/style/whatever into the japanese medium that he enjoys which might take away it's unique nature.
Take Boichi's art for example. It's pretty fucking unique in the current era of japanese manga. Put it next to most Korean manhwa out there and you'll see the resemblance. There's a reason why some people don't prefer Boichi's art. It's because to THEM, it's not what they expect when they think of Japanese manga/anime.
This does not make them "racists".

What do you mean different way of animating? Squash and stretch and all the common western animation techniques are already prevalent in Japanese animation industry. Not to mention, western animators working in Japan are influenced by anime in the first place. No sane western animator would move to Japan and work in an unfamiliar environment with shit pay if they weren't passionate about it so this excuse isn't going to work.

No it's not. There are plenty of mangaka in Japan that draw extremely realistic and detailed art like Akira Hiramoto and Shinichi Sakamoto. I Google searched Noblesse and The Breaker which are two of the most popular Korean manhwa in the west and they're barely similar when it comes to the art style.

Not preferring their work =\= Getting bothered by an outsider. Nobody sane says they feel bothered by Boichi working in Jump. You're trying extremely hard to excuse his behavior.

How would you feel if I said I don't prefer Indian directors or actors working in Hollywood because it bothers me? Admittedly, it doesn't bother me when I see a Chinese or middle eastern actors but I get bothered by Indians. It's just a personal preference.

Aaaany day now. I'm assuming once Takumi's match is done, we'll move on to something for Megumi, then the final battle with Asahi, or Saiba, or whatever his name was. That's just the lowest possible estimate though, it could go on for much longer, we all know how "final arcs" can be.

Different work cultures, different ethics all come into play when working in a different country.
Also, people have moved countries for shittier jobs and pay just to have a different life because eventually that would be more fruitful. Half of the people who move to Middle East from South Asian countries experience it. So, lets not even go there.

Those selective examples tho. I've read the Breaker a bit. It's very clearly trying to imitate japanese manga. But despite that there are moments in the art you can clearly see Korean influences.
Also, you just kinda proved my point with the fact that the 2 most popular manhwa in the west don't look Korean but rather resemble more closely to japanese art styles.

Not preferring their work =\= Getting bothered by an outsider. Nobody sane says they feel bothered by Boichi working in Jump. You're trying extremely hard to excuse his behavior.
I'm not. If he really means he will be bothered by an outsider despite that outsider not bringing in any outside influences and won't have a negative effect on how the existing culture influences the work, then yeah its a different story and I'll agree with you. But all his arguments seem to prove he thinks it'll negatively affect a work that shouldn't be affected by something outside of Japan. To me, it seems as tho he just wants to preserve what make japanese anime special. An outside factor can destroy that and I understand that possibility which is why I'm "trying extremely hard" to defend him. (not trying hard at all. Literally typing this during my breaks and transit back home. So I'm quite jobless).

How would you feel if I said I don't prefer Indian directors or actors working in Hollywood because it bothers me? Admittedly, it doesn't bother me when I see a Chinese or middle eastern actors but I get bothered by Indians. It's just a personal preference.
Don't really care, personally. But Im sure others would have an issue with it. My mindset has always been if a person is RIGHT for the job and contributes positively to the role, they need to be given a chance irrespective of sex, gender, nationality. So, I guess you could say I agree with both your views.

...I'm confused now.
