I think friction with the air? I mean, at least at first Sanji needed to spin his foot into the floor, it was like lighting a fire with sticks. But then Luffy could do his flaming gattling...so maybe extreme speed with the air?

Ah, I think it's because you ignored the thread creator then. Ignorin Hannibal wouldn't make the thread invisible, especially when other people are posting in it. but yeah, the thread had few pages of Sanji talk, and then it further devolved into Luffy fainting after Hodi vs. Zoro fainting after Manslayer. S'all annoying.

But it'd be cool to see Sanji fight Jinbei and Zoro seriously.

Seeing how haki gets more complicated with each arc I'm thinking that maybe all these elemental techniques are actually also haki in a way. Like not armament haki but simply a very unique manifestation of haki.

Also with raidsuit(wich can supposedly not be lit on fire as seen in WCI) is Sanji unable to use his diable jambe techniques?

Luffy's red hawk while cool looking never made sense to me either, if it was due to speed then why does is hawk gatling not a fire based attack.

If all of this is due to haki, Oda better explain haki properly like Kishimoto explained chakra in the begining of naruto and set limitations and drawbacks.

Think Oda called it the flames of passion, but yeah, he said Sanji could handle the heat because he's a chef.

I personally don't like these kind if techniques or attacks too much myself. They almost make certain DF powers look pointless to acquire the fruit, somewhat..

ODA gives reasonable context and illustration to suspend your belief of an already fictional story. EX. Sanji's couldn't land a critical hit against Jabara because of his Tekkia, always minimized his damaged. So through high speed friction, he set his foot a blaze to burn into Jabara's defense. and with 2 hits he did so. Luffy's is similar but less believable; Using hardening haki, & a high speed punch to create friction on his fist for an fiery explosion.

I don't like these makeshift abilities that have similar effects to DF.. shockwaves, fiery attacks, ice attacks, etc...

But Sanji's DJ, is very believable for an attack. His hell memories is like am exaggerated gag attacks which im not mad at because it really is funny

Jimbei isn't a rival though and not sure he could put a dent into the Monster Trio especially after Wano arc if their future final fights who we think the majority thinks, then Jimbei will be behind them unless more are established for him to say otherwise.

Could be latent genes he unconsciously unlock from his family experiment and he is late bloomer which might explain RS and possible theory it can unlock more of his power out without needing it. Though Zeff's training does help a lot .

Doubt it. At least, hope not. It'd render Sora's sacrifice as well as the torment Sanji went through pointless. Prefer Sanji growing in strength the old fashion way, rather than being the result of his Father's machinations.

I'm liking the idea of Sanji's "Flames of Passion" being another form of haki though. Could potentially explain why he hasn't shown hardening yet. He developed another aspect of haki before hardening.

Not really. He can gain his powers and still the same guy. The issue wasn't that her kids gain abilities, it was because it make them emotionless monsters. Sanji didn't become that and thus even gaining his latent genes, he still himself end of the day.

He can harden as shown in the anime. Also thinking once RS unlock his genes, he don't use RS much anymore and become more his own power like another step of flames becoming stronger and color changing as well his body too.

Alright then, fair enough, but don't be surprise if Oda choose to go on that route as he seems to have plans with RS, so it wouldn't be bad off especially he still train to get stronger end of the day even with RS before discarding it.

Oda said in a interview stuff will be continue on more there since he can't do much in manga, so it's more like canon-filler, then non-filler. Plus he would be upset about it and told off if they did something wrong that they shouldn't done especially showing Armament Haki scene. I think the team would ask Oda about and give them the go, so I wouldn't say it's all non-filler when they are doing canon stuff from the manga.

I do see him not using it later on as well, but for another reason than just be pointless thing like it getting destroyed without added benefits at the end or fulfilled it's purpose like unlocking something deep inside of it. No shame for that as he still train as himself like I said.

Where does Sanji get his leg strength from?
We know Luffy went through hellish training as a kid, gains the progressive shonen power up, DF ability & fights the strongest enemies.
Zoro is constantly training lifting heavy weights..Sanji on the other hand seems to just create new attacks to get through.

Sanji should start to lift weights with hs legs. I'm sure he'll get great results from. Just thought it was a bit peculiar. Our chef has some serious leg power..but closes to training we see him do is run from a LBGT community on a island lmao.
