Although better than I thought, Saiyuki's day 1 sales are still pretty low. If it can somehow not plummet like most over new series do in this position, maybe it could last another volume, but it seems pretty unlikely at this point. If Yui Kamio can stay at about this level though, I'd say it could be the next Hungry Marie where they let it exist near the bottom of the TOC for longer than most other new series. Spy x Family thankfully looks like it's doing well though!

First episode of Dr. Stone was really good, very solid, art and animation on point for like 99% of the episode, unfortunately didn't had the same impact that the manga to me for obvious reasons but based on the reactions of the people who don't read the manga, the impact was there.

Now it's wait to see if will impact the sales, can you imagine if after all the pushing and promotion for the anime, the sales still the same or just barely improve? lol

Not all are Shoseki/day 1 numbers, but maybe others can get more specific. I also saw a lot of CSM was doing good on Amazon sales.

It's so silly to air Dr. Stone in a late night timeslot in a seasonal format.
It needs to be a long runner with filler to cater on its potential with younger children. An educational action show based on a Weekly Shonen Jump manga is insane not to air in a morning slot.
It's Bill Nye with a battle shonen skin. I don't get why everyone is so focused on pretending the series is so clearly something its not.

SxF sales is going to depend if it will drop or not. I think it will be a 30-40k seller.

The amazon ratings are perfect 5/5. I find SxF to be overrated as hell but nice to see a Jump+ title gain popularity.

I dunno, the series doesn't really feel like it could "work" with younger children. Dunno why, I just feel there's something inhibiting it. Might be the artstyle.

Dead on arrival. I think if Yui Kamio stays at about the same level on the daily sales charts for the next few days that it may actually stand a bit of a chance. If it plummets a bunch of places though...

I see it getting more praise over it's cuteness than comedy. Also nothing wrong with finding it overrated, it doesn't mean its bad. When I said I wanted a comedy series, I wanted something in the same vein as Takeshi/Bobobo.

That's called a changing market. A series like Takeshi was great at appealing to kids, but it would have to compete with YouTube nowadays. Spy x Family has a strong, ongoing plot with cute stuff which appeals to older teen and adult readers.

I'd say it'd be perfect for kids. After the first couple conflicts the series becomes quite comical in it's execution. I feel like Boichi was able to adjust his artstyle and make it really "light", especially with all the faces. It's really strange why they didn't go for Heroaca's slot or even Seven Deadly Sins' slot on Saturday mornings. Both those slots run 2 cour series.

That weird Youtube comparison makes me think you haven't actually read Takeshi and are under the impression that its purely a no substance random gag manga.
Looks can be deceiving young buddy, please stop judging books by their covers. Takeshi was a very tonally versatile manga.

I have read it, and my point stands. While it is definitely charming and has its deeper moments, it's still very reliant on gags early on and is absolutely meant for younger readers.

Legit, the more I read about the TOC, the more I'm convinced that the majority of discussion surrounding it is little more than myths being thrown around as if they were true.

At least, the position in the TOC seems to be pretty important for new series.

I do not know if the position is based on the survey or they use other sources to choose the position, but the new series at the bottom are not good sellers.
