Mercphobia lifting an ocean is not multi-continental. When he dropped the water down on the city, it was a city level flood at best. Each individual water pillar could only destroy buildings. In any case, it doesn't matter. Ignia was able to swim through Mercphobia's ocean easily. There's actually no difference between swimming in the ocean when it's on the ground versus when lifted over a city, so this is doing no damage to Igneel. Mercphobia can only destroy buildings when he drops water pillars, and when he drops the entire thing it can only flood portions of the city.

Calculations aren't proof of anything when magic in FT has no relation to science. MP isn't the same as force, large mp=/=large force, so lifting large things doesn't equate to being powerful magic. Pulling down a meteor from space is leagues upon leagues more impressive than anything in the manga, at least by science, doesn't make Jellal and Eileen the strongest in the universe.

They are as proven with various cases, such as Natsu creating upward air current with his body heat, or lightning operating on real world lightning, being drawn to lightning rods, iron and carbon becoming steel, nuclear fusion, black holes having infinite gravity. Yes it is as the MPF shows for both hax and actual power. There is no way around it. Pulling a meteor from deep space is sub-relativistic speed at best
