Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

4 movies in 7 years... yeah..
give me BD/DVD number.. its irrelevant if it sales less than 1 million or even 10 million.. how many different is BD/DVD number can made??? take a look at box office Movie_800 million and 1.2 billion (naruto shippuden movie 1).. thats like 400 million... again movie BD/DVD not anime...
because i know bleach anime did well..
Bleach is giant franchise.. none deny that.. i just want compare movie number to another Giant franchise//

I dont know why you hate MHA so much...
MHA will fine...MHA sales great in USA alone... beat OP nonetheless.. in movie
for manga.. MHA may already peak.. but i doubt JUMP will rush it....2/3 years?? lol... i bet another 5 years is no reach, deku got 7 quirk to develop, they all still in 1st year, for gods sake.. ///
JOKES on YOU, honestly i hate MHA too..more than BC...

this is why i never talk about establish series// and always want to talk newbie series///
their FAN are something else, man....
With regards to BD/DVD, someone can correct me but I remember seeing Naruto's total anime DVD sales was 1/4th of Bleach's total anime DVD sales.
Dont remember where I saw but I'm sure you can google it yourself.

And I don't hate MHA? What a funny conclusion. It's the newer series I've enjoyed the most in the past 5 years although I dont read it anymore because of lack of time.

What I've said about MHA is basic practice among any franchise.
You want a quick example? Off the top of my head, Transformers and TMNT movie franchises. Or heck, DCEU. None of these franchises are currently where they "planned" to be.

Theres a reason why Bleach's anime stopped after 2012. This falls under the above. Why Bleach didnt have movies after 2010? Because its filler ridden main anime started to lose ratings, thereby lowering demand for it. Didnt help that its manga was also slowly declining. Consequently, youd also see that sales of the anime in DVD/BD were also dropping.

MHA with its declining sales has a very realistic possibility of being another one of those cases in the future. Not saying its gonna happen 100% but you'd be naive to think that wont happen.

Speaking of Bleach, all this new stuff is celebrating its 20th anniversary right? Is all this promotion considered "big" compared to other anniversary celebrations? Which other series do you guys think had amazing news and promotions for their anniversaries?

Totally random question, but what ever happened to those two miniseries that were being published exclusively in the online series of Weekly Shonen Jump? I feel like I haven't heard anything about them in a while, so I assumed they ended already but I was never too sure how long they were supposed to be

even you are miss my point.. i know BDDVD bleach ANIME sales better than Naruto.. 750k vs 300k (naruto and boruto)??? i may miss much and may not update cos its like years i never see again... (i research this one time to look gintama BD/DVD who sales like 900k, and not update after 2 new season)
but how about MOVIE BD/DVD for Bleach?????. since my first post i always talk about movie, then you bring anime in the mix...

well, my bad then, i got caught in the heat about MHA,,,

it can happen, it may not happen.. time will tell..

Heh, 2 volumes are above golden kamuy on release date, and GK sold 140k in 4 days last volume. Definitely doesn't look like it's going down anytime soon.
I mean with two more reprints already scheduled it is a given it's not going down anytime soon. KNY should break OP's record in two or three weeks tops, way before the half-year sales cut off.

Saw this on r/bleach

Project no. 1: Burn the Witch will be serialised in Shonen Jump this summer, then it'll get an animated movie this fall (not winter as someone claimed, they clearly said fall in the stream). No specific dates, all we're getting for now is 2020/0X/XX and 2020/XX/XX respectively.

Project no. 2: There will be a Bleach art exhibition in Japan next year (2021/XX/XX).

Bleach TYBW Arc: XXXX/XX. Yes, that seems to be all we're getting.

After the Burn the Witch one-shot came out, Shuheisha wanted to turn it into an anime immediately, but they decided against it since it was too short. When Kubo decided to turn it into a weekly series, they immediately started working on the anime at the same time.

Kubo designed the 20th anniversary logo - it's not the new Bleach logo, as someone claimed, it's only for the anniversary. Bleach's main logo hasn't changed.
Dragons are the Western equivalent of Hollows, Witches are the equivalent of Shinigami. That was pretty obvious already, but there you go. They also pointed out that the whole Eastern/Western branch thing was teased in the manga years before Burn the Witch happened. Overall, they made extra sure to emphasise that Bleach and BtW are set in the same universe.

The first chapter of Burn the Witch will take place a day after the one-shot.

Brave Souls announcements: it'll get a collaboration with Burn the Witch at some point, and they're going to release some Sternritter characters soon.

Volumes 1-48 of the Bleach manga will be available on Jump Plus for free, but only in Japanese. The Burn the Witch one-shot is free as well.

They also confirmed that Kubo wanted to take a break instead of Bleach being canceled, so all the people who still believe the “conspiracy theory” about Shonen Jump hating Kubo and screwing Bleach can rest now. They said specifically that after Bleach ended, Kubo told his editor at Shuheisha that he wanted to "rest for like 15 years", and the guys at Shuheisha weren't happy to hear that. They were hyped for Burn the Witch when he came up with it, and they seem to be super hyped for the upcoming serialisation as well.

I think 4 weeks is more likely, but yeah, agreed.

This is kind of random, but today's episode of MHA should be really good. A few sakubutas have hyped it up, Hayashi Yuuki (the series's music composer) said we'll regret if we miss it, meaning he probably composed a full song for this one and the series's official anime account has been making a countdown for days now. I'm really curious to how it'll turn out since it's the festival performance and it's a moment that's been expected since the beginning of season 4.
If you paid attention, a few episodes back did confirm Yuki Hayashi composing the original song, with Ayapeta writing the lyrics. Seems to me it'll be in English, but it makes sense, I guess (even though I'd prefer a Japanese song.

so it seems those aniplex buying bleach rumors were false, Pierott is listed at the bottom of the 20th-anniversary website. there goes my hope for a new studio to get their hands on it and breathe new life into it. another bland pierott adaptation here we come.

Can confirm here. Scroll down. Seems Pierrot's picking the adaptation back up. It's gonna be like Fairy Tail: Final Season, where it'll probably be a long runner for a year or two. This would make sense, as this might be replacing Black Clover when it ends in the summer, actually. It would be the perfect time to. Wait for the manga to build more content while adapting the last of Bleach.

I am wondering if this means BC will take a hit in sales. If the sales tank worse than they predicted, they could just outright rush the series to an ending.

I'm fairly sure that's not why their name is on the website.

They have a YouTube link with music/images from the anime on the website. I think they're legally obligated to put their name, or the video could be taken down.

you cant compare that to MHA, i mean MHA already on 2nd movie and sales more.. what fact?? its just assumption.. what if scenario..
Bleach's second movie also made more money than the first, so your point is completely moot.

But wasn't it supposed to last 16 years? XD

Yeah I saw it too. It's not straight up confirmation but it's a very real possibility. Could also be a copyright of the old anime.

Either way, if it's Pierrot, they will act on seasonal or long-running based on the committee plan (and if it's getting on BC place, ofc would be long-running, which having 20 volumes on the arc, I guess it would make sense?). Outside of that, if it's true, we'll just have to wait for staff to see which talents will be on it.

Yeah, but I swear, you should see the streets in some countries. It's absurd. People are just completely mental. We're in the middle of a full on worldwide pandemic and I still see parks filled with people with no masks, people going for a stroll, out on their bikes, etc, like, hello guys? Please make an effort to turn on your brains.
Keep in mind that, in my country and some other European countries:

- people are allowed and even advised to go walking or biking, alone or with people who live under the same roof, because sunlight and physical activity can help boost the immune system and also being out in nature reduces stress;
- there is (has been) a shortage of protective masks, so using them for yourself while the doctors and nurses need them so much harder would be really freaking selfish. (Everyone who still had masks was asked to donate them to the hospitals.)

As long as those people in the parks are not gathering in large groups or making direct contact (a distance of 1,5m is advised), they are doing exactly as the government asked them to do. That's not something they deserve to be ridiculed for, no matter how 'mental' you might find it.

(Unless you are talking about a country like Italy, which is in complete lockdown. There, people have been asked to stay home unless absolutely necessary.)

But they literally said in the livestream that they had Kubo extend the oneshot to give the movie more content.

Unless you're thinking the movie will be the longest in history, that can only mean that it's a miniseries.
That doesn't prove anything. They could continue the one-shot for the movie and then go further beyond. Nobody said this one movie would cover the entire series.

Saw this on r/bleach
So the one-shot isn't going to be part of the series? Huh... :blink

I would say that seasonal would be the best solution, basically they have an arc already concluded and a lot of material, there would not even be fear of approaching a manga ....
