Trivia - Top Ten Game - Interim Round 45: Naruto Characters

Being a host is fun. But only if your list resembles those of the others. syx has no fun.

Two Members have 8 matching characters in their lists, but none of them match in terms of points.

This is surpassed by two other Members who also have 8 matching characters in their list, but here we have a matching 1- and 10-pointer.

I considered to tier your lists (Sakura < Genin < Chuunin < Jonin < Kage < Akatsuki), but I discarded the idea, because it would give away too much information. Not to mention my frustration over your lists, since most of them would end up in the Sakura tier.

37 participants so far.

65 different Naruto characters have been nominated until now, and yes, the ones you dislike are all there, some of them with a considerable amount of points, mind you.

This was hinted by yours truly before, but I want to make this perfectly clear. We all know this meme right?

Shout-out to the Member who sent me a Hunter X Hunter list. The list is not half bad though.

Kudos to the Member who wanted to take advantage of the fact that I didn't read the Naruto novels, and thus blend Shigekuni Yamamoto Genryusai into their Naruto list (it is not lakhan220). That Member was even smart enough to provide a picture in the hopes I wouldn't check the internet to find out about this low level Genjutsu. But listen to me guys... my Sharingan powers surpass these of Bleach. I can see through Kyouka Suigetsu and my Amaterasu will extinguish any form of Ryujin Jakka or Zanka no Tachi. As jdw once said: it is impossible to troll Yondaime my Sharingan. Get over it.

You can't imagine how awful it is when there are characters with slightly identical names, and you realize it way later, which means you have to check the other pms for possible fuck ups from your side.

The feels when Members vote for a Mizu/Rai/Tsuchi/Kaze/Ho -kage, but don't specify the number, and you are left behind to figure out yourself which one they mean.

The feels when you don't know whether a list such as this:

...is a ranking or the points. Logic obviously tells us that it is a ranking (i.e. 1. = 10 points), but my continuous rechecking has proven this logic to be wrong in some cases.

Having participants with names such as Ēsu Taichou or Brandish μ is really bothersome when you work with a lot of lists/data…

The feels when Members list over 10 characters by mistake... you point it out... the Member says that she/he edited it to 10, but you still count over 10… : /

I'd have given Naruto points because he was a more complex character than given credit for, at first. Dude tried hard, but he also had to deal with loneliness and feeling like a hated burden. He was also innovative and smarter than given credit for, even though his tactics were more fitting for a prankster than for a genius like Sasuke or an intellect like Shikamaru. I'd have actually liked to have seen him work with Shikamaru as well, because Shikamaru's intelligence combined with Naruto's trickiness would have been awesome to see. Still kinda feel cheated that we didn't get more Naruto-Sasuke tag team fights that followed Part I fighting style.

I just like her, i dont care if she has flaws, i never expect a char to be flawless, or to make no mistake, to begin with.

I mean, I don't dislike Konan really. But fair is fair when talking about characters doing stupid shit.

Maybe true, but honestly thats the case of 99% of the characters of the series, noone for exple never mention about Hiruzen ( i do like him hes on my list too, might change though thinking about it) people are calling Tobirama nazi, but what did Hiruzen do, how did he deal with the whole uchiha thing ?

I think the main issue I have is the problems came directly after the removal of tension in the story. The parts after Pain's invasion were crucial to build towards a story end, and as a reader I wanted to buy into something, but that didn't eventuate.

I woulda been happy if kishi just kept obito as the bigbad...madara powers and all.
But the edo tensei ruined everything...idk

The series was not meant to go that far, i think everything past pain attacking Konoha, was additional. Heres an interview of Kishi and one of his editor (last part), who coincidentally stopped working with Kishi just after Itachi's death when Sasuke got mangekyo. its strongly implied that the series was pretty much over at this point. Kishi got a new editor and its precisely at this moment the series take a wrong turn (not saying everything was wrong after that but it has been stretched beyond necessary to the point to ruin everything, and yeah edo tensei was a huge mistake imo) my guess is that whats was originally planned after jiraya& itachi death, was something like, konoha vs akatsuki with an iconic fight sasuke vs Naruto, but well...

Before this, I had more respect for Gai as a teacher, as he appeared to be trying to act in a certain way solely to inspire his 'failing' student [Lee] - now it just looks like he is also unable to use ninjutsu, thus taking away somewhat from Lee's charm (he pushed through his inabilities to become a highly capable fighter)


... and then, his 'sacrifice' was completely negated by Naruto's Jesus powers

That's possible (a turtle, right?) - though it barely makes him that different from Lee IMHO

Wasn't it more because of damage caused by Gaara then by the Gates if I'm not wrong.

I also remember that you had to use a forbidden technique to open the first gate but it can be brushed over with " If you get good you don't have to use it " but it still leaves issue how earlier the gates were opening one by one while Gai went instantly into 7 closed them and went instantly into 8..

The only one that was showing to have actually drawback seems to be Gate 8 but as you said Naruto interference was all that was needed for it to not be case :P

Naruto fandom is onto us
