Sure, sasuke lost family, but never was loathed by the village, discriminated against by the people. On the contrary, people saw him in high esteem and tried to be careful not to hurt his feelings, evident from how he was treated at academy. Not a single soul there wished bad for him
See naruto instead. No family,loathed and discriminated for his no fault and to top it off, he never knew why. People either made fun of him or wished he would disappear, had no friends and even was discriminated at academy, even by teachers. Certainly far more pitiful than sasuke.

So, crush reinforced after getting to know him, getting trashed multiple times , even when he tried killing her twice makes mores sense than the one based on the respect gained due to the similarity of the situation and how hinata notices subtle naunces of naruto and how he rose himself up from the drag to one of the best working his ass off ? Tht is what i meant.

Transmigrant makes it better? All of this was way late in the game, after we were convinced Naruto worked hard to prove himself, and sometimes was a simp, because of the nine-tails discrimination etc. It's more about the reader feeling 'cucked' with the total re-hash of Naruto.

Nope, it at least acknowledges the efforts of naruto up till end of pain arc to beginning/half of war arc. Much better than jesus reincarnation and destined, negating all tht i highlighted in ur post. He was rewarded for his efforts, sure the reward felt like being cucked, but does not take away anything from his efforts up to tht point.
So, imo, yeah better than reincarnation at least.

Yeah, Sasuke's character arc is just a shitshow. He was a big recipient of that Itachi retcon ravaging. When he was just an insecure guy who became obsessed with strength as he hid from his personal demons that was a legit character.

But post-Itachi retcon, when the cycle of hatred stuff really started to ramp up, his character just falls apart. Because we had already seen that he was admired and treated so well. He was solitary by his own personal choice where Naruto was solitary because he was ostracized. And then it just continually snowballed as Kishi tried to find ways to deflect responsibly for actions away from Itachi and later himself.

If he had the same backstory as Naruto where he was hated and ostrsized but for being a Uchiha, which in the later retconned historical context he should have been, then it would be at least semi-functional.

It's sort of a different flavor of the later problem with Naruto's backstory after that was retconned in. Because him being hating and ostrizised doesn't make sense at all with his parents being these universally loved and admired people.

I see it differently. I don't look at it from the start of the series, but from the overall history.

Just being nice to Naruto doesn't cut it for me for a person who was the Kage of the Hidden Leaf Village, a person who should be one of the most influential and powerful individual there.

And giving Jiraiya a 'pass' because he had stuff to feels like double standards compared to Kakashi. Just because Kakashi was in the village doesn't mean he had nothing to do, especially after the Kyuubi incident. As far as I recall, Kakashi is a ninja with the most completed missions under his belt. Not to mention that he was bascially a teenager when Naruto was baby.

The retcon put all three characters in a very sad spot in regards to Naruto. They all had the responsibility to take care of Naruto since his birth one way or the other. There are no excuses.
