With Killer Bee there isn't even an attempt.

Basically Killer bee's sole purpose in the story is to be the "how to tame your bijuu"-sensei. He didn't need to have a deep personality IMO ( not like any of the other character does lol).

But in addition he also was an example of a Jinchuuriki treated right by his village as opposed to Naruto or Gaara, which I found quite refreshing. We've got enough "victims" out there as it is.

The first makes him a plot device. The second makes him redundant. It needs to be "his story" or it's not really a story at all.

He could have been a real character. Kishi could have swapped him out for like Konan or any one of the good character ideas he wasted in other places. A comic relief character there diminishes the series. A real character elevates it.

I never really thought much of Karin (and yeah, there was far more to the Karigetsu match) - Suigetsu and Jugo were far more interesting characters to me
Speaking of - I wish more had been made out of the Suigetsu and Kisame dynamic

It's a shame that we have never seen him and Itachi truly fight as a tag-team. =(

The thing is that even if Sakura's and Karin's reasons to be into Sasuke are "different", the treatament he gave to them both was just bad. Not to mention that they both were pretty much in denial when it came to him.

Sasuke/Sakura is a worse pairing to me because of the ending they got, but Karin isn't any better honestly.
