I think this is something I can agree with. Because making the one behind the Nine Tails Attack as Obito also raises questions like, he was able to get into the village THAT easily and take the Nine Tails, why didn't he just do it again with Naruto as a kid? Also that whole argument of the Tailed Beasts needing to be sealed in chronological order just goes out the window when you realize Obito was going to take the Nine Tails there and then.....

Aah no, no chronological order bar Kyuubi...u have to seal other 8 and then kyuubi. because if u remember, 1st ones to be sealed were Goubi and Nananbi. Well, if Obito could have gotten kyuubi, it would have been a huge win and advantage to him as he can use him for his bidding.

A large part of the dead characters being ranked is that they were ruined through Edo Tensei. People are ranking them based on their legacy, not their actual relevance IMO.

I mean, I also understand it though. So many characters ended up being a wet fart in the end that you kind of have to go back and only rank them for their positive qualities but REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Then there is the Sasuke X Sakura romance side. Or complete lack there off. Where Kishi never bothered to even explain why she liked him. Much less why he would like her. All of that is just completely missing from the plot. Which is really unacceptable. Even Karin got that much.

That was such a hard part of Naruto for me to swallow (#nohurr): being so desperately crazy about someone that simply trashes her. They were kids, I expected development from there ... to learn that they actually end up together...

His flashback with Bee and Ay - Yeah, that was just a display of 'cool', it added little to the plot, was rather pointless in general (did he really need a background with Bee and Ay?), made Minato appear a fool for not just shanking Bee (something that would've benefited the story IMHO)... and then he just walks away?!?

He could easily have taken those 2 out - removed a Jinchuriki and a Kage potential in one go and he decided not to...

... he'd lost a lot of the rawness he kinda had in the Kakashi flashback

Hahaha, I didn't even consider this. Though you do raise a good point. It was a time of war, so offing those two off would be the best move. Before we saw the Nine Tails flashback, Minato told Naruto that the perpetrator of the Kyuubi attack was someone so powerful who 'Minato nearly stood no chance against.'
In the actual fight, Minato offed Tobi in like two moves. Taht was an inconsistency.

But aye, he is a prime example to show that you can't make a character interesting solely through increasing the number of methods that they can flatten a mountain range

That's all there is, really, to Hashirama and Madara - rampant displays of power and poorly written backstory

I don't even understand the power struggle that existed either. Mokuton was so OP that they didn't even give it to other characters, yet the Sharingan exists and we're supposed to believe the Senju were on par with Uchiha? I get that we had less exposition for non-Uchiha in general but meh...

Yes and how was he gonna extract kyuubi from naruto ? If he kidnaps him while still small, he has on his tail multiple shinobis and risk of him getting exposed or hindrance in his plans. Moreover, there was no akatsuki still or had tht much power to stop the whole military might of a village.

Im talking about him being edo-ed therefore ruined. most of characters i think of, that have been edo-ed, were relevant to the plot (Asuma, Chiyo, Zabuza etc.), before the war (actually its precisely the reason they were edo-ed, just fanservice) I have nothing against deidi he was among the most brilliant chars kishi created when the story was still good ( i just dislike those mouths in his hands, too weird, creepy... )
