That's cap my friend, every genre "some"??. Are you aware of the isekai genre?. Anime wouldnt live anymore with that poor view. Isekai is just a bland copy paste industry. A wish fullfiment and thats an fact. Keep that genre in kodawa where it belongs,

Ironic enough burn the witch is an isekai since as proof that ninny jumped into "another world"
Digimon? I agree the Isekai anime nowadays is bland and carbon copy but in 90's Isekai anime were full of creativity and much better world building stories without needed self-insert plot all over again like Kirito from sword art online.

For me Digimon and Overlord should be the best example for writing Isekai. Even If Oda and Shimabu make an Isekai, they can still execute much better.

I was not aware of SxF being so famous in Japan. Damn.
I guess I didn't take a closer look at the previous numbers.

How??? There is literally zero chance that it's not going over 400 chapter. ZERO.
In my experience, 100-150 chapters are more than enough to tell or close a story, but it also depends a lot on the pace of the author. And Horikoshi in general has always been pretty quick in storytelling.

Then it also depends on the conditions of the magazine. The Jump currently has too few Big series and many above average series, they don't want to cut titles unless they sell really, really bad.

So until the situation has stabilized a bit and it could take a few years, I would say that no well-established series is really at risk.

UU is above stuff like Yuuna and Platinum End, both declining but still significant series, confirming that there will likely be pretty big growth for this volume.

Oh for sure, I was talking about nowadays speciafally which I gave a extra caption of "nowadays isekai". Hack sign series, shoujo to shounen esc isekais.
It was alot of experimental and actual story telling what an story is about. Not every have to be ground breaking big brain writing but atleast mann be atleast a bit original, isekai =/= another world. there is so much you can do with it like go to space/ labyrinths or heck even about burglars from an new LN lord of mysterious.

My favs has a opie concept like problem children & no game no life on how well they execute something with explanation/ unique world building/ denies the harem concept which makes it refreshing

But if I see another kirito look alike with (self insert random cheat power) + harem to defeat the demon lord for the 1038x. Sorry Its just too easy to trash on..

(Shield hero does it well imo)

People can like what they want but there are things that ya have to be aware

But oh well it's just me being serious since the sole purpose of this genre is entertainment.
Its reflects the japanese espcially and people in general of wish full-fillment for neet that reflects the era. A genre I once loved but now being very discreet.

Sorry if it was offensive looking with my comments

Any back to jump, maybe we should make an isekai-jump section to talk about this further

It seems to have placed better than with its previous two volumes. At least for the first day that is. The closer it gets to 20k sales in 3 days the better. Prices mean nothing without the popularity to back it to continue living in Jump.

I think Undead Unluck and Mashle are more or less the 2020 hits. Now for both of them is just rising. I'd say Ayakashi Triangle is going to be the 3rd 2020 title to sell well. Shark is my main question for 2020. And we can't discard a November manga that we won't notice if it will become another hit or die until 2021.

Then we have Yozakura Family which is the big question in general. Yozakura is that strange case giving both "is going to survive and be a 30k hit" and "is going to be axed before chapter 100" vibes.

Magu, Dolphin, and Roboco all started up high, so it's still possible for any of them to survive longer. Dropping to 5th last isn't too big of a deal since Undead's been there a bunch and it seems to be growing really well.

My guess on Yozakura is that, since it has fairly decent sales that aren't dropping, it'll probably stick around until they've built back up a roster of promising series again and don't have half the magazine filled by rotating new flops. Which considering there's only 7 older hits (soon to be 6, or possibly even 5), may not happen until it's long enough to end naturally anyway.

AB sold like 10k on its previous volume, shouldn’t it be axe fodder?

IS 30k really considered as a "hit" for Jump though? I mean they axed S8 and RxL despite both selling more than 30k from vol.1 on. Why should they see a series that needed 50+ chapters to get to that point as a "hit"?

S8 and RxL were both from veterans who had high selling manga so their sales expectation for them were different. Not to add that they both started to decrease in sales after volume 1 iirc. Not saying that hitting 30k after 50 chapters is a hit tho

Because those both plummeted quickly after volume 1 instead of only going up like Yozakura has.

It is no use selling well only in the first volume, sales have to continue selling well in the next.
I did not follow RxL, but I believe that at some point his sales dropped a lot and he was canceled.

You're using two of the biggest comebacks Jump has had in the later years, one from the author of one of the biggest spokon before Haikyu!! and the literal author of Naruto. The first one started selling 100ks to drop with every volume at a Boruto pace, and the latter started selling 12k first week from the get go with a 2 volume release. Now you're comparing these to an author who only had an axed 2 volume series. Not the best way of doing it, imo. Not to count standards have completely changed in the span of a few years. But sure.

It's also worth remembering we used to have a long term 30k club, Isobee and Zumou both got long full runs while never really growing much but having stability.

Yozakura is selling enough to potentially stick around, it's just a matter of if jump will do it.
