1.3 million is around 260k for each volume, that doesn't seems underprinting to me when not even the 1st volume reached that number in physical yet.
That includes digital though, which we dont know anything about. I mean, according to oricon, this series sold a total of 220k copies last month. Even if they havent sold all their stocks, Its pretty obvious that a reprint is gonna be announced within the month which seems to be the norm for this series.

Kagurabachi has reached 1.300.000 copies in circulation with 5 volumes
Only 300k since mid October...when reprints of all volumes were announced

Comparisons. Next is to see if it picks up the pace to match the trajectory of Haikyuu (1.5 million at 5 volumes) Shokugeki no Soma and My Hero Academia (2 million at 5 volumes).

One Piece probably would end before FGO has any WSJ collab
To add on to this, I think One Piece will still be here in 2030.🧐

It was me. I missed the mark on what it would collab with, however...

-Undead Unluck is collabing with Street Fighter 6.

-Street Fighter 6 has a collaboration with SNK Legend, Terry Bogard.

-SNK has had several games where their series cross over, notably, Samurai Showdown characters have been in a game with Terry Bogard.

-Samurai Showdown (2019) had a collaboration with Guilty Gear where Baiken made an appearance.

-Guilty Gear is made by Arc System Works which also made Blazblue.

-Blazblue Cross Tag Battle features Under Night In-Birth characters by French Bread.

-Eltnum is a playable character in Under Night In-Birth, who is better known as Sion from Melty Blood, another game by French Bread which is based on the Tsukihime franchise.

-Tsukihime is canon to Fate lore, and Sion herself makes an appearance in FGO as well.

Ergo, Undead Unluck shares a universe with Fate Grand Order and my prediction came true.
I...I kneel.

Yelp, now I know that one piece or blue box are the most likely series to be next center stage for a center color page. But I think Blue Box will around the month of January while One piece will be for issue 3-4.

Next Hyo is a giant lady surrounded by a group of level 4 giant ladies.
Ok but unironically I find the Daidaborotchi to be a VERY good candidate for a Hyo

"Appearance: Daidarabotchi are colossal humanoids which resemble bald-headed priests. They have big, rolling eyes, long, lolling tongues, and pitch black skin. They share a lot of similarities with other giants, like ōnyūdō and umi bōzu, but they are by far the largest giants found in yōkai folklore.

Behavior: Daidarabotchi are so large that their movements shape the world. They build mountains by piling up rocks and dirt. They even pick up and move mountains to other places. When they walk, they leave lakes and valleys behind in their footprints. Because of this, many places across Japan are believed to have been made by daidarabotchi. Some are even named after them."

If it were just about whether Nue or Roboco is more likely to get a cover then I wouldn't be so surprised by Roboco winning out just on seniority and... "popularity"? If that's the right word to describe Roboco's relative position. Maybe visibility.

Regardless, factoring in the reason for said cover page, which is more the kind of reason you'd give a normal color page and not a whole cover page, and yeah this is kind of an oddball pick, like they really had nothing to fill in for this week and just defaulted to Roboco cuz it seemed like the safest/most available one to do for whatever reason.
I agree it's pretty much Jump not having much series to give a cover so Roboco is like a "safe choice" mostly due to being a older estabilished series even if a lower selling gag, my original point is that "ToC rankings" have no relevance in this case since Jump will absolutely gain nothing from putting Roboco in the cover instead of Nue, Roboco being in the cover will not make more people buy the magazine issue, they could literally just give the cover for Chojo and it would have zero impact in the buyers numbers, so why not also give it for a battle shounen that sells better? Jump isn't losing anything doing it and you don't overwork the same authors.

Astro Royale killing it!

Need a Kill Blue color page and a Shinobi Undercover one.

Surprised they're letting Hakutaku go this long. Waiting til around chp 7 or 8 of SydCraft to start the next serialization round maybe?
Hakutaku is only 11 chapters with this week issue, way too early for a axe.

Feel like Kill Blue is more likely to get cancelled than get an anime. Honestly a <25k seller getting an anime would be wild. If there is anything that encapsulates how washed Jump is nowadays, it would be that. If you wanna give it a chance to rebound, do that but an anime? That’s crazy to me
You guys gotta realise we're not in the 2010's anymore, a series that sell less than 30k in a month getting anime is the most normal thing in this industry, Gachiakuta from Shonen Magazine which is hyped in the west sold 17k with vol 12, and that has a anime by Bones in production, so why would Kill Blue getting one be so wild?

Again, it's not about rankings, a gag series getting a cover for a volume release a month before it happens is just as random as you can get.

Answering some comments since i was mostly off in the last 2 days:

This sounds nigh impossible to me, Mashima just finished Eden’s Zero and that was while he was also both writing a biweekly series and fully authoring a monthly manga on top of that. Even if he’s still raring to go, it'll be at least a year gap like he’s done between his other main weekly series, and I doubt it will happen anywhere but Magazine given his 25-year history and ongoing patronage of Kodansha. Plus the guy’s almost as old as Oda, so for his own sake he should probably chill out a bit.

Still; big if true.
If you're talking about Dead Rock, Mashima actually writes and draws the series, he did while doing Edens Zero weekly, dude is literally a machine, at this i wouldn't be surprised if he publishes two weekly series on Jump and Magazine at the same time :grin

Vol 3. with Terasu and Kinpa on the back 🔥 🔥
Great side profile for Kinpa :datass

what are the chances of this volume have better sales than the previous 2? Is there a chance of something like that happening?
Isn't impossible but it's most likely not happening, it's more realistic to just wishes it keeps the same amount.

Yearly Oricon Raning
1. Jujutsu Kaisen (7,610,995)
2. ONE PIECE (5,250,210)
3. Soso no Frieren (4,988,170)
4. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (4,723,562)
5. Blue Lock (3,881,269)
6. Kaiju8 (3,398,326)
7. Kingdom (3,234,204)
8. Haikyu!! (3,077,085)
9. My Hero Academia (2,943,985)
10. SPY X FAMILY (2,662,408)

By Volumes (Just WSJ):
01. One Piece #108 (1,552,215)
02. Jujutsu Kaisen #25 (1,542,345)
03. One Piece #109 (1,467,881)
04. Jujutsu Kaisen #26 (1,416,480)
05. Jujutsu Kaisen #27 (1,191,959)
06. One Piece #110 (1,123,762)
08. Jujutsu Kaisen #28 (982,900)
10. Hunter×Hunter #38 (734,441)
11. My Hero Academia #40 (717,757)
15. My Hero Academia #41 (607,661)
30. One Piece #107 (397,184)
37. Jujutsu Kaisen #24 (359,616)
Damn, Haikyuu managed to outsell My Hero Academia despite not having a single volume released in years, just because of a movie, this is literally the Slam Dunk of our generation, proud to have been a big fan from the first year :pleased

How much time they count for the volumes sales? 8 weeks sales? the whole year?
Just to be more precise after @Thehoennhippo answer, it's a entire "fiscal" year but it's not from January to December, it's from November to November, the Yearly Shoseki rankings are from January to December which is why they are different.

My 2025 Predictions
ONE PIECE: Elbaf wiill continue, new movie is gonna be announced, and still above the 1m mark
HUNTER X HUNTER: Gonna retrun to Hiatus soon, but return to the magazine even sooner than normal
MYF: Its gonna end in early/mid February, S2 in Spring
UU: Its gonna end in early/mid February
Roboco: Its roboco, so who knows (i just want a Bleach and Black Clover parody covers)
SD: Decent Boost for the anime
TES: Close or even gonna end
WW: No boost, gonna be close to end
BB: Ending at fall
KB: Its gonna die
Nue: Struggle to survive, but will do it
Kgb: Continue to grow for 1 or 2 vols more, then who knows
Chojo: Its not looking Good, gonna die
Astro: Struggle to survive, hope it lives
Exorcist: Struggle to Survive, prob gonna die
Hima: Struggle to survive, hope it lives
HAKUTAKU: U-19
Ichi: Early Hit, depends on time if it mantains it
Shinobi: Struggle to survive, hope it lives
Sid: Gonna get the axe

New series/Future of Jump:
-Burn the Witch will return
-Naoshi Komi will return
-A new Jump game will be announced
-A Big hit by a newbie
-At least 1 GFC winner will be published
Damn, i didn't knew iker were just @BelTL all this time, all the doom and gloom in these predictions... :grin

There is absolutely no way they announce an anime for mid ranker like Nue or bottom ranker like Kill Blue, while there is no anime for their hit like Kagurabachi? People's bias and hate are really showing here. That's why i call people delusional.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

MYF and UU is not a "big" hole. Putting them in same sentence as MHA and JJK is wild. They are likely forgotten by most people once they ends, except by their own niche fans.

Do most people even remember other mid rankers that was published alongside Dragonball and Slam dunk, frankly.

No hate for them tho. I myself is a huge stan of a very obscure manga that noone even knows, Harlem Beat. I just won't ever have the cheek to call it "big" no matter how much i love it and think it is objectively a very good manga.
Didn't respond before because i was mostly off in the last two days, but unless you're purposedly trying to start a fight, Jesus Christ, you need to chill out and stop acting like people have a agenda everytime they say something, half of the thread already explained to you but again, Kagurabachi isn't going to get a anime sooner than everybody else in the magazine just because it sells better, it's not how it work, if it was Sakamoto wouldn't have waited longer than Yozakura or UU to get its anime announced, that's why i predicted it might not get a anime in this year yet because it will only reach 2nd anniversary around August/September.

Also, Yoza and Undead ending will also left a big hole for Jump, you're talking about 2 battle shounen series which has been going for half a decade in the magazine and having a loyal following, getting anime, novels and collaborations going on, also, people keep talking about axed series even a decade after they ended, or smaller series like Hinomaru Zumou keep being talked years after, pretty sure these 2 series will still be topic talk about Jump years in the future :grin

Is... this another Nue vs Kagurabachi debate? Welcome to the new year, same as the last one lol.
Fans fighting invisible fights, nothing new :catshrug

I know that I have been gone for a while, and I am working on my final review. But I wanted to catch up on what has happened lately that I missed. Well, congratulations are in order for Kagurabachi getting the cover.

Also for it to get to 1.3 million, that is fantastic.

Shirai coming back with the artist of Stealth Symphony is cool. The name APPLE has my attention. I hope it fairs better than another apple series, “Hungry Joker.” (And no, this isn’t an insult, it is just a commentary). But then again Death Note had 🍎, but that was just the temptation food for Shinigami.

And finally, Undead Unluck is collaborating with Capcom to add Undead Unluck in Street Fighter 6? This is Tozuka’s dream come true. I had a prediction last year that UU would get a fighting game. But this is better. I hope that this is the beginning for Tozuka’s career for bigger things.

Half the discussions about UU this year were mostly because it flopped on every area
</s>
More seriously it didn’t deserved that to be honest but life is unfair

Talking about one shots named Apple, Komi Naoshi is known for having published a one shot called Apple on Jump in 2008: https://mangakakalot.com/chapter/apple_komi_naoshi/chapter_0

"Pre-Nisekoi" Naoshi was for sure a creative author....

Half the discussions about UU this year were mostly because it flopped on every area

And yet it's here getting covers and collaborations with a big video game franchise and making JP Jump fans go nuts :catshrug

That is if he can handle, working on Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest and Dead Rock at the same time. I can’t even imagine him handling 3 series at the same time. I would have posted that panel from Bakuman where Mashiro was drawing like death when working on PCP and Reversi cause that was madness learning that Mashima was doing a Weekly (Eden’s Zero), Bi Weekly (FT100YQ), and a Monthly (Dead Rock), series at the same time.

But not as crazy as Nishi working on 2 weekly series at the same time with Iruma-kun and Ichi the Witch.

You know, speaking of game collaborations, how many have we had in the past? And which ones do you want to see in the future?
