Adds a crazy second dimension to why Samura views the sword bearers as sinful. It's not just that their lives were spared in favor of killing Akemura after the war and being done with it, although he certainly believes that as well. It's that even during the war, when there were 200,000 lives actively at stake, they couldn't register a chink in his armor. No wonder he continued training so hard and even developed his true realm despite being away from tobimune for 18 whole years.

Enten was crafted to destroy the other enchanted blades but there’s no way the intent was to send Chihiro out there right?He wasn’t even willing to explain the war or Shinuchi to Chihiro so I can’t believe the plan was for Chihiro to go to war with Soga.Who was he planning to arm with Enten? Was he going to use it himself?

His speech about having principles and accountability reeks of a man who wanted to end things on his own terms. I'd wager he was even contracted to Enten before he died, hence why it was at his body when Chihiro came to after the fire.
