Updated with Someone Hertz too, i was quite behind, and gotta say, it just reinforced my opinion that is a really good manga, it's impressive how this series started and everyone was like "it was cool but how it will continue from here?" and the manga just continued so easily and natural while getting better & better with the passing of the chapters, of course it's not perfect, many of the jokes or references still fall flat many times, it's inevitable when you're not japanese but everything else is so well done that it makes you understand why the japanese public that can fully take the manga appeal is enjoying it so much, so i'm very interested in seeing how Someone Hertz will evolve from the Listener Koshien :^_^

lol kkkk i'm fine, @Kiaida is the one who is about to send a nuke to Shueisha :grin

Btw, you saw the home of the forum? I talked with the administration and we decided to make some changes dividing the home between 2 towers with the recent discussions in the Forum as the 1st and the former articles in the 2nd tower, looks a lot better now right? 🙏

The adm plan to start updating with new articles in the future too.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Its that time again.

Here is the full set of one shots that debuted in Jump Giga Winter 2026, enjoy:

Ippon Souka by Yoneboshi

Benkei by Umeharu

Tokyo Punk Kill R by Morihiro Hayashi

Tenjou Tenge Renai Dokuson by Shuuma Sakurai

Kotonoha Hazumu by Dodota

Monster Fujimura by Teppei Kiyota

Uchi Meke Gyokushin by Mayu Aoi

Yuki Ni Shuura by Sango Iwakami

Brass Bone by Ayano Sasaki

Heroing by Koroko Sai

Gray Dogs by You Hisayama

Neon Satan Generation by Shirou Makigyuu

Aruji to Myokuya ichiya Monogatari by Jondon

Densetsu Ken no Tsukukata by Hayato Nanakusa

Yufune no Yubune by Tsumiki Nishida

Doremi by Ittetsu Sakamaki

Hoshi no Tonari ni tachi Takute by Ryouhei Takahashi

Ayakashi no Kami by Tenki Oohare

Kanbami by Yoneboshi

Kagami no Yadori by Eisuke Noro

Coil Girl by Koharu Hatakeyama

Hope you enjoy the one shots. I will make my own first impressions shortly.
Ippon Souka by Yoneboshi: Good art, quite above of what i usually see on Jump GIGA one shots, interesting mecha/sci-fi stuff, would like to see the guy doing something on Jump.

Benkei by Umeharu: Interesting artstyle but gotta be honest, the author needs to improve a lot in the coreography because a lot of the action and sword movements were confusing to me.

Tokyo Punk Kill R by Morihiro Hayashi: Bruh, how this guy improved his art so much in such a little time? Comparing this one shot to Star of Beethoven and is wild, it's like night and day, he improved everything, i wouldn't mind him returning soon with something like this.

And btw, that thick dark skinned girl, yeah Hayashi definitely has a type like Kawaguchi LMAO!

Tenjou Tenge Renai Dokuson by Shuuma Sakurai: Huh, a "succubus/demon x human" romcom with a bit of ecchi here and there? color me surprise, but being honest it really doesn't look like a Shonen Jump manga, it looks perfectly well like a Shonen Magazine manga kkkk.

Kotonoha Hazumu by Dodota: The typical GIGA one shot with average looking art, it took a while for these to appear kkkk anyway, looks like a Young Magazine seinen sport series.

Monster Fujimura by Teppei Kiyota: Looks like a generic seinen action series, not interested.

Uchi Meke Gyokushin by Mayu Aoi: Average art at best but i did find interesting the focus in both male & female kendo, maybe there's potential with the author refining his art with time.

Yuki Ni Shuura by Sango Iwakami: Very amateur art but different from the others i can feel passion and some charm in the amateurism, and the content was visually pretty interesting, a mix of drama with exorcism, this is the "Chainsaw Man" style of manga done right, and take this as a compliment because i'm really tired of these but i think this is someone to keep a eye on it, is just a matter of improving the art because the atmosphere and content seems to have quite the potential.

Brass Bone by Ayano Sasaki: Ohh this one is good, it's interesting, good art, good & unique character design for the main guy & girl and a manga about playing trombone/trumpet? it may sound silly but i thought the one shot was actually pretty interesting visually, it may not look like a Shonen Jump series but this is a newbie with potential, i would be totally fine seeing this being serialized.

Heroing by Koroko Sai: Hmm, the art is amateurish but the artstyle is good, with time this newbie will definitely be drawing quite good, the one shot is clearly influenced by My Hero Academia, i would say the artstyle and character designs are also inspired by Horikoshi art. Anyway, someone to look forward i guess.

Gray Dogs by You Hisayama: Meh, another one of these Chainsaw Man clones, the mc even looks like Denji, to be fair the art aint bad, only needs refine, but the rest is pretty obviously inspired by CSM.

Neon Satan Generation by Shirou Makigyuu: Oh wow, i wasn't expecting seeing a newbie with this level of art, what is dude doing on GIGA? He can perfectly well serialize something in the main magazine or Plus already lol The plot is okay, it seems to be something like the son of the devil actually going to the human world and working at a ramen shop? it kinda reminded me about Gondaira's Poro series but with a much superior art, anyway, this guy should be publishing a one shot in the main magazine lol

Aruji to Myokuya ichiya Monogatari by Jondon:

Kid: Mom i want Magi!
Mother: No sweetheart, we have Magi at home

The Magi at home: lmao!

Jokes aside, i guess it's something different than the usual? It's visually interesting, decent art but is definitely not a Shonen Jump manga, you can smell the "BL bait" from faaar away, feels like something you would see either on Sunday or G Fantasy?

Densetsu Ken no Tsukukata by Hayato Nanakusa: Hmm, okay, seems to be one of these typical fantasy series with the hero and his sword? it looks okay but definitely not Shonen Jump, i don't think the magazine needs this kind of work when you have literally hundreds of them out there.

Yufune no Yubune by Tsumiki Nishida: Hmm, not bad, nice artstyle and nice boobs too :P, a different take in the exorcism stuff at least for Shonen Jump standards, the author has potential.

Doremi by Ittetsu Sakamaki: Yoo, this one looks cool, the best action one shot of the group, by a mile, the art and artstyle is pretty cool, the author is ready to serialize, he draw really well for a newbie with no serialization, and the content and action was pretty crazy, i do think the manga looks like something more in line with Shonen Champion but i would love to see this author serializing something on Jump, i think he's ready.

Hoshi no Tonari ni tachi Takute by Ryouhei Takahashi: Hmm, isn't bad i guess? Seems to be a mix of superhero action with mecha and a mix of romance between the mc and the hero girl, the art is obviously amateurish but it has potential with work and time.

Ayakashi no Kami by Tenki Oohare: Okay, this one is definitely the most stylish and surreal one shot of the bunch, it's purposedly very stylish and psychodelic, a mix of horror, comedy and surreal visuals with a group of gyaru girls as protagonists, it will never work on Jump but it's fine as a one shot.

The 3 final one shots were actually originally winners from the Jump New World Manga award republished on Jump GIGA, i already commented about them.

My favorite one shots:

1. Doremi by Ittetsu Sakamaki (Battle Shounen with a bit of surreal stuff like Dandadan)

2. Brass Bone by Ayano Sasaki (Music sport series, really interesting)

3. Tokyo Punk Kill R by Morihiro Hayashi (Battle shounen mixing ninjas, hot nuns, demons and etc)

4. Yuki Ni Shuura by Sango Iwakami (Drama & exorcist, it may feel like a CSM clone but done right)

5. Neon Satan Generation by Shirou Makigyuu (Artist is too good already to be just on GIGA, should be in the main mag and working in a serialization)

Anyway, pretty good Jump GIGA issue, way better than the usual stuff and thanks for the work @Phantom RPG

Live action Robin, oh my god.....truly a baddie in every format.

Anyway, it's quite surreal to see the....well more surreal parts of One Piece actually kinda working in live action. I always thought the series was way too "goofy" to work in live action, but I at least thought East Blue would be fine. It's when they enter the Grand Line that it truly picks up on the wacky scale and what I was really worried for. But so far, so good, from this trailer at least. And Robin looks SO fine.

Pleasantly surprised to see The Unluckies made it in too, still think they shouldn't have cut Hachi out of the first season, that's it's biggest misstep for me so far. Unless Karoo isn't in this for some reason, which....would be beyond stupid to cut him out, but even if he's not in this season I'm sure he'll be in Season 3.

Oh did i forget to mention Robin looks great? Because she does!

Ok Robin fawning over. For now.

Good to know they listened! It has improved, indeed, but IMO they should avoid the spoiler threads (they are the ones showing for me on the home right now).

Gotta remind that completed here means final approval by the editor and the rest of the batch is in various stages of completion too. Last time it came back when the 4th chapter in the batch was approved and this one is the 3rd of the next.

5. Neon Satan Generation by Shirou Makigyuu (Artist is too good already to be just on GIGA, should be in the main mag and working in a serialization)

Anyway, pretty good Jump GIGA issue, way better than the usual stuff and thanks for the work @Phantom RPG
Glad you liked it. Won't lie, this was a good series of one shot for a jump giga issue. A good variety of genres and some interesting plots.

Well without further ado, here are my personal opinions on the one shots themselves:

Ippon Souka by Yoneboshi: this one shot and the one he did for the award were really good, if someone were to tell me is is only a newcomer to the scene i would laugh and sat they were kidding themselves. I would seriously not mind seeing him debut a series in the magazine proper like wholy crud. Also i do like a good sci fi esque themed one shot and this one managed to be a doozy.

Benkei by Umeharu: It has an interesting artstyle for sure, but the action scenes leave a lot to be desired especially for a famous japanese figure in benkei, so i hope he improves this part as mich as he can.

Tokyo Punk Kill R by Morihiro Hayashi: am going to agree with the lot of you, this was a massive improvement over stars of beethoven. I now kinda wanna see what he could do next as a full blow action series.

Tenjou Tenge Renai Dokuson by Shuuma Sakurai: I don't know about you but i thought it was certainly charming in a way, it also knows how to mix the ecchi with the romance quote well. I could very well see the author be the next rosario + vampire to be completely honest here. Looking forward to more of his work in the future. This is an author that should appear in the magazine with his own series.

Kotonoha Hazumu by Dodota: It does look like a series that would show up on young magazine. But It was not really interesting to me personally speaking, I do hope the author improves though overall.

Monster Fujimura by Teppei Kiyota:Its painfully generic for a battle series to be honest, its unfortunate cause the art is great but the whole plot it went with is way to cliche for my taste. The author should try and improve his story more in my frank opinion.

Uchi Meke Gyokushin by Mayu Aoi:For what it is worth, its unique but i just did not quite click with the artstyle so it was somewhat hard to follow, but i could see this author being an diamond in the rough so long as he improves the art considerably.

Yuki Ni Shuura by Sango Iwakami:Was kinda surprised by you Shinuki seeing potential in the author in question, but the more i see though the amateur art i could finally understand why you said this author has a great deal of potential. So i will also keep an eye on him for the future, he only needs to improve his art and that pretty much it.

Brass Bone by Ayano Sasaki: Now this was interesting one shot, never expected to be interesting but it was memorable in its own right(I think i recall using chatgpt to ask which one shots were the most talked about and this one was at the very top from what I gathered within Japanese audiences), never expected to enjoy a more musical themed one shot but here it is and it was a joy to look at. This is an author I would no doubt try and get him to debut a series as soon as possible.

Heroing by Koroko Sai: I thought it was enjoyable for what its worth and i agree that it wore its MHA appeal in its sleeves, but it was well done overall, with a bit more polish ans i think the author is pretty much set for the future. I wish to see him in the magazine when he can.

Gray Dogs by You Hisayama: This was significantly weaker than their other work "Stray cat in the city" by miles, also it felt way to similar to chainsaw man in some aspect. Definitely needs to work on story, the art is fine but the story needs to work similar to how it worked with stray cat is my personal opinion.

Neon Satan Generation by Shirou Makigyuu: Glad to see that someone liked this one shot and the art, this an author that should and cpuld debut in the coming months if it were up to me personally speaking. It was an enthralling one shot for what I could gather.

Aruji to Myokuya ichiya Monogatari by Jondon: This was kinda weak, it did not leave me in awe to be honest and the BL bait was so obvious that it kinda destoryed what i imagined to be a relatively interesting story to be honest. Hope the author comes back with a more interesting plot.

Densetsu Ken no Tsukukata by Hayato Nanakusa:This read like it was a one shot made for weekly shonen sunday to be honest, but in a good way. However i do think insaw something akin to this before so i do think the author needs to come up with an even more interesting plot next time he makes a one shot.

Yufune no Yubune by Tsumiki Nishida:Great art but sadly ruined by its rather bland storytelling, i saw this similar premise twice before with a one shot by hideaki nabe and kento amemiya before hand. So i would say the author needs much improvements in thw stpry department before considering making an official series. Harsh? yes. Necessary? Absolutely.

Doremi by Ittetsu Sakamaki: Best battle shonen one shot I have seen in giga, I ha e some favorites from last year but this was awesome nevertheless. I really think this author should make an official debut in the magazine proper cause this was stellar in a great way and glad that shinuki saw it that way as well.

Hoshi no Tonari ni tachi Takute by Ryouhei Takahashi:For what its worth, its charming in its own way despite the amateur art(Which could do with some work), just hope the author improves the art and continue making this rather unique stories.

Ayakashi no Kami by Tenki Oohare: it was certainly a unique one shot but its not really fit for weekly shonen jump. But i hope to see more of this author soon.

My top six favorite one shots for this issue are as follow:

Doremi. Amazing action one shot with a unique battle system similar to dandadan.

Ippon Souka. Great art with a unique sci fi appeal that I have not seen in a while with some crazy battle scenes.

Brass Bones. Unique premise with a interesting genre in musical sport.

Heroing. Intersting action with a good hero appeal.

Yuki Ni Shuura. Great mix of drama and exorcism to make a unique storyline.

Neon Satan Generation. Great artstyle with a interesting premise. Author shoul already being set to debut in the magazine if they can alongside the authors of doremi and brass bone)

Hope my review was good for ya to take a look at them.

Also, anyone having issues in the site where when searching for specific threads or forums it just shows no results whatsoever. Same thing happened when I went to look up my previous posted content thought out the years of me being in the site.

Just to remind, anyone that want to post the nominations, feel free to do 🙏
I’m still working on mine, but I should be done soon hopefully.

Just add it to my Mangaplus influence "conspiracy" theory!
I think you meant to put the word “theory” in quotes, regardless of whether or not it’s real it would still be a conspiracy if they were conspiring to prop Shinobi up an unnatural amount.

the drop was bigger than otr's drop, wasnt it?
Yes, actually now that you mentioned Harukaze vol 2 actually sold pretty much the same as Otr vol 2 with a extra day:

Otr of the Flame #2 (2,947) - 6 Days
Harukaze Mound #2 (2,996) - 7 Days

I guess in the end everybody gets beat by Otr.... :whistle

Yuki Ni Shuura by Sango Iwakami:Was kinda surprised by you Shinuki seeing potential in the author in question, but the more i see though the amateur art i could finally understand why you said this author has a great deal of potential. At first i thought it was just another CSM-style exorcist series but with the passing of the one shot i started to get sucked into the whole drama/depressive atmosphere of the art & drawing, and even with the very amateurish artstyle you still can see he has some good fighting coreography ability.

True that. It was kinda mesmerizing it a great way. Also am going to begin willing into existence Yoneboshi, Shirou Makigyuu, Ayano Sasaki, Ittetsu Sakamaki, Sango Iwakami and You Hisayama (Although to me personally, go back to more sci fi stuff and less focus on chainsaw man shenanigans, its more of the author's strong suit)
