All Purpose Sig Contest Discussion Thread 2011

Thoughts on this style??

I like it Coffee, it's a pretty sweet abstract sig and style. Great lighting and nice effects. Although I'd like to see a sig in this style with a render too.

I forgot who exactly it was, but someone posted a Popout type sig on here about a week or so ago and I asked about the character in it, but nobody seemed to have any idea about it.
I may have just run into the character but Im not 100% sure though it sure looks like it -

I think he is the character from Zombie Loan -

It was me, I see a similarity, but I'm not sure if it's the same person either. The original render had a lightning type thing coming out of his hand, and he didn't have a sword like the Zombie Loan character seems to have in his pix. There also looks to be something around his eye and the hair shape is a bit different. I still find it funny that someone would want a sig made from a render that they don't even know where it is from.

The thing under the eye is the biggest thing, the rest can be explained... T_T darn I thought I had it

I think your signature looks nice even though you say you gave up on it. I find it sort of ironic that you say you gave up on your submission when your render is the one that was selected for the contest.

When you originally nominated your render, did you have an idea for a signature for it that just didn't work out quite as you planned?

Nope, I haven't XD I just remembered seeing some sigs with that render that were quite beautiful. Never thought that it would be so difficult to work with that render. It's vertically bigger, so it's kinda hard to make it fit sig proportions. I also thought it was ironic that I was having such a hard time to make something nice with the render I submited XD

It looks good. I thought I would have been the only one to get trouble with this render,but it seems everyone had a hard time
To me this render was made for a scenery type sig. I really wanted to put her on a castle balcony you know

Yeah, that would have been much better idea than try to pretend is a game banner or whatever XD I should have tried some scenery too^^

But to be honest, I was expecting better results from you, since you're the best here when it comes to shiny girls signatures Still, your signature is clearly better than the rest of the submissions. My vote is yours, as long as Bugzee and Coffee don't come up with something crazy again xD

Thx for ur kindness xD Guess it was a weird theme for me: my render, my comfort zone, and I didn't go well. Those things are good so we can try new things next time^^ I have someone else's sig in mind to vote for now^^

lol. Hmm I wasn't being kind That's my sincere opinion.
When it comes to signatures I do my best to be honest about what I see in order to help the artist improve his work.

So I tried following suggestions from you guys and tried to do a signature while constraining proportions, and I made one
Maybe because I'm such a Toaru no Majutsu no Index's fan but I really like my new signature .

I know it's a little too bright but I want to know what you guys think ?
It's a really simple sig btw.I can't really handle advanced ones so it's just brushes+render+background

Fast improvements Congrats. I really like the way you handeled the background!
Yes, the sig is more bright than it should be. You can keep it that bright if you wish to, but it shouldn't affect the visibility of the render itself(the faces in this case).
Just work on your text a little bit more.

I'm sorry! The focal point was suppose to be inbetween the two faces but unfortunately, everything is too bright for that..
