I missed the deadline for the mother theme, because I went travelling and came back after what was planned ç_ç
so Mom couldn't make an appearence here (I was really going to use my mom)

ohoh sword is interesting... let's see what people can come up with...

I didn't realize that it would be so hard to find images related to mothers. Besides using images of actual mothers (there are quite a few mother characters), you could have done a picture on anything or anyone being maternal. For example, someone could have used Riza Hawkeye from FMA with her dog, Black Hayate, since dog owners often call them "parents."

A few more ideas might have been to go the "mother earth" route, "holy mother," or even Shaft ("He's a bad mother-- Shut your mouth! I'm only talkin' 'bout Shaft!"). For those who like Naruto or Fairy Tail, you could have done submissions on Sasuke or Zancrow using Kagutsuchi if you tried to make the mythological connection to how Kagutsuchi was the fire god so hot that he burned to death the great mother goddess, Izanami.

Anyway, I just wanted to point out that, if you give it some thought, there are plenty things to do with the themes. If you guys are ever having trouble with ideas for a theme, feel free to contact me or anyone else for some help trying to come up with ideas.

I'm pretty sure the sword theme will be a bit easier than the mother theme. I don't know if it's because there are more resources and variety with swords but the mother theme was a bit hard for some, I suppose. Then again, if we were to do a father theme there should be plenty of ideas available.

So, what you're saying is that you think we should try a father theme next year?

Hi all, I just wanted to say that the main reason I didn't enter the Mother theme, was a lack of time rather than the theme itself. This time I may enter, but it will have to be one of 2 sigs I made a few weeks back that have swords in them. I just have too much school work to make anything new for a while.

@ Coffee -I like your sword sig, I like the pop-out style a lot. Though, the green and red makes it feel like Christmas to me, lol.

I tried to make like... three mom's sigs xD Hated all! I think I wanted to make something special, like a homage, and the pressure got too big xP At the end, I was almost making some "mother earth" sig xD

Nana, you remind me another artist I know in RS, that also has an otaku mom xD You guys really like artistic stuff there, right?^^ That's cool.

That's why my friends always want to exchange moms XD
in PoA there're always art events, like Bienal do Mercosul and such, and anime/manga/games related events... it's really different from SC, I miss that...

Coffee, it doesn't remind me christmas (maybe a little now that debaron mentioned it XD) but maybe you could try a green with a little less saturation just to see how it goes? that would also make the red stand out... but so far I like it n_n

I'don't know, it was just my first impression. :P And generally I'm not a fan of that color combo, so I'm kinda biased. But IMO it doesn't look bad or anything, and I do really like the sig.

I feel bad that I don't have time to make something just for the theme, but what do you all think of this sig:

Hmmm... I like your current sig more than the Drake sig. It has more appeal to it an looks cleaner and has better flow.

@Kakashi - Lol, at the no edit - it sucks. Thanks a lot for the feedback. And I agree, I never really finished the Drake sig, so it makes sense.

Also, WOW, your sword sig looks amazing!!! I've really liked all you recent sigs but this one is seriously awesome! I love the blue and red glows coming from the sword. I don't know if your finished with it, but to make it even better you could experiment with some selective blurs and/or burn some parts to give it more depth/have an obvious light source with more shadows on the render.

No I don't think I'm finished with it... I want to add text and maybe some more effects. I wasn't really thinking about adding the glow to the sword because I thought it would be hard to see the sword, but the outcome looked really cool
Will have to play around with burning and stuff as you said, and maybe more C4ds.

@Kakashi: Nice work bro The effects are totally awesome but they are messy in some places. Just adjust the signature so all the effects (C4D) follow the same flow.
