A special Georgia Election (6th Congressional District) took place yesterday, and no candidates achieved Absolute Majority (50%).
Which means Democrat Jon Ossoff will face-off against Republican Karen Handel on June 20. While Cheetos Benito is bashing on Ossoff, Ossoff did pretty damn impressive in a Republican-Dominate district for a Democrat, and if Ossoff wins, then it will be quite historic (if he wins, then he will be the first Democratic Representative since John James Flynt who served from 1965 till 1979, and these are the Democrats that went by the name "Dixiecrat").

So it looks like Julian Assange has been cornered long enough. If Ecuador gives him up, then it's the end of him.

So it seems like a government shutdown hinges on the wall funding thing.... Kinda retarded that they are still going on about a stupid wall like that. On principle I would be against a government shutdown but the wall thing is so astoundingly stupid I don't even know what to believe anymore. Anyone has any information on this?

Well, and now a trump order on the sanctuary city thing was block. I know what the order was about though I have no knowledge regarding anything of what allowed a judge to block this order. I get the impression trump will be spending unnecessary amounts of time at the supreme court. Can someone get trump a copy of "how to be a president- for dummies".

So far, he never actually went 'to court' when he announced to see people in court.
He will be mad on twitter and then just forget it.

Oh, so trump is still going strong with a new health care law. Haven't read anything specific about it but I wouldn't expect anything dramatically different from the previous one. It got support from the freedom caucus which is... a horrible sign. I guess it is them who made a concession here so perhaps not as horrible as that should imply. So again the big question, will trump get enough republicans to pass it or will he fail at that and them blame democrats? The circus continues...

Apparently, a lot of republicans are getting on board now that they're not affected. Forgot the specifics, actually, but something along that line.

Anyway, fuck politicians and people who are against net neutrality. Any politician against it is a proof that they're not for the people, and they'll probably get lightning fast connection.

So far I have only seen the freedom caucus guys get on board with this. The "moderate" republicans who opposed the previous bill based on not wanting millions to lose insurance have not gotten on board yet. I read something that suggested that people on congress wouldn't lose their obamacare benefits if the bill passed... Which is a surprising level of hypocrisy even for this administration.

Another interesting read. it is somewhat optimistic but I would argue the next step now that trump has freedom caucus support he will basically strong arm the rest of the GOP. Of course, that did not even come close to working the last time around which should also be a cause for optimism. I guess it depends on whether trump can convince fellow republicans that their reelection hinges on the bill. However that also depends on whether the bill is popular at the national level or not. So... perhaps there is a strong case that the bill is mostly doomed already? Am I missing anything?

I didn't see that last week, but i had a good laugh:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...germany-chancellor-us-president-a7699591.html
"Ten times Trump asked [German chancellor Angela Merkel] if he could negotiate a trade deal with Germany. Every time she replied, 'You can’t do a trade deal with Germany, only the EU,'" the official said.

They continued: "On the eleventh refusal, Trump finally got the message, 'Oh, we’ll do a deal with Europe then.'"

Ms Merkel was reportedly able to convince the Republican leader that a US-EU deal would be easy to implement, sources told The Times.

Britain has reportedly been pushed to the back of the queue for a post-Brexit trade deal with the US following the meeting.
I will say it now: Have fun with trump implementing TTIP :D
That would be the icing on the cake.

I thought Dems opposed to the passed healthcare reform would have a more professional way of showing it, especially if they keep touting the millions will die from this line of reasoning for opposition.

Senate appears to be drafting their own, then it goes back to House.

I'm looking at the zombie AHCA, and it's the same old crap:
  • The ban on preexisting conditions is gone
  • Premiums for older people are spiked considerably
  • There have been no public hearings on the matter
  • Every patient advocacy group and just about everyone else in the healthcare industry oppose the measure
  • Congress is exempt from the new rules that allow states to waiver requirements
  • 20 million people lose their coverage, possibly even more
  • It slashes taxes on the rich by about a trillion dollars over ten years
This is a stellar example of an abomination produced by both spitefulness and stupidity. There's no telling what the potential domestic implications are, as well as international ones too. This is beyond embarrassing where we prove to the world we're hacks, the AHCA itself is a moral abomination.

We need ACA. Seriously, Or at least, a better version of ACA. All republicans are doing is fucking over the Americans who aren't wealthy while making sure they're safe. This is ridiculous, and just another example of why the republicans are way worse than democrats.

How can you blame the better party, when democrats failed to rally behind their supporter of the most benevolent health care plan proposed by Mr Sanders before the election? If anything democrats only have themselves to blame.

Because they're the ones who are choosing to repeal ACA for no reason but Obama, and they don't care that it's hurting so many Americans. All they had to do was either improve ACA or replace it with a better policy, but instead they're making it worse. I won't feel bad at Trump supporters and/or republican voters being fucked because of AHCA.
