Broadcast distribution always ends up being their copyright lawyers’ pissing contest. In Canada, we don’t have nearly the amount of legal anime as the US because of distribution rights. It’s a lot of lost revenue but lawyers don’t seem to understand. This will further illegal streaming because if someone can’t get GOT through legal means they will just find another way.

Net Neutrality isn't really about copyrights; it's about Internet Service Providers (ISP) having the ability to control what sites you go to.
In other words, it's essentially the equivalent of saying "Pay-to-Play" concept. For example, if you want to have access to Facebook or Mangahelpers, you can jump right into them by typing it in the search bar under Net Neutrality. Without Net Neutrality, the ISP will literally block you from having access to those websites unless you're willing to pay some form of fee (See Portugal for example).

Just imagine the consequences of that happening: Millions of Americans will have to pay more for Internet, the collapse of various online businesses, and many other harmful effects such as legal censorship.

The main issue when it comes to net neutrality is ISP charging website owners over what speed viewers can access their websites. It's a greedy move which benefits literally no one but ISPs, harms websites that get charged and screws over people who already pay for an internet speed. You also have ISPs being able to control what people can or not view which is in itself extremely troubling.... It's the end of open Internet.

And the sad part is that we have people who simply believe that Net Neutrality is some "Internet Communism" the way those Anarchy-Capitalist fucks and Libertardians believe. What's also sad is that Net Neutrality is what allows Internet Freedom in the first place, something Libertardians have abandoned just because Regulations and Governments are the Boogieman who needs to be put down.

But I guess if the repeal passes through, then I'll have to thank the Trumptards like a handful here for allowing all this shit to happen. I hope they're happy with the Internet gone, all thanks to the "Fucking the People and Children" party (formerly known as the GOP) they've elected.

It’s in the same category because if companies want to charge people extra for Netflix or other streaming services, it becomes a copyright issue. Also ISP telling lawyers so and so from x location downloaded Thor illegally is giving them too much power. On top of that, allowing them to charge for using twitter or gmail and blocking people from those sites means blocking people from any website including torrent ones or illegal streaming.

As far as I know every country has different ISPs, so I don't think this would affect those outside the States, wouldn't it? Don't get me wrong, I do support Net Neutrality, and no ISP has the right to be a dick towards its consumers. I just want to know how this would affect those not living in the US.

The issue would be that many websites and services used outside the US are based at the US and those of course rely on US ISPs. So if they get slower connections due to internet speed lanes or whatever chikanery they come up with that is also hurts consumers outside the US. Add to that that ISPs outside the US aren't exactly prone to behaving ethically or in any manner that evidences giving a shit about their consumers (they look up to comcast even) so if the US gets hit by this then it is a matter of time until other ISPs at least try to use the US ruling to make their own cases.

It’s a shame because I actually really like/ have a lot of respect for him and his handling of the end of the Cold War (as much as he’s often painted as a bit of a war monger I would say from my study of him that quite the opposite is true; and he seemed to have a genuine hatred of a situation which saw people living under the looming threat of nuclear Armageddon.)

I would think that's mainly because the disease was not as well-known/well-socialized as it is today. So even if his closest people noticed something was off, most people back then would pass it off as simple dementia. And besides, a disease like that wouldn't have looked good for the administration, either. So it's understandable.

BTW, Trump's doctor was obviously a hack and got paid off to clear him for the elections

But... isn't that a big deal anyways? I mean, sure, a yuge number of people still think moore was preferable to a democrat but the amount of votes that had to shift or be absent for this result to be possible is more than significant. Alabama is not a state that is normally up for grabs. Trump won the state comfortably (26 points) and according to the internet most if not all government offices are held by republicans there. Republicans, and trump should think of alabama as a referendum on them as a whole and their reaction to it should match the result... Even if things were going well republicans should have been worried that they were going to lose their majorities in the house and senate because that is how elections normally go. But if you consider this result along with other elections then things should look pretty fucking grim for the republican party for next year.

Problem is, neither parties hold their own to the same standards that they hold the other. I think the primary demographic that actually does would be female Democrats, when they asked their own to resign after sexual misconduct allegation.

And republicans will always hold anything liberal or left wing as worse than a pedophile or serial killer, as long as they're conservative leaning.

Oh, I'm not saying things like "Wow look at Alabama! Democrats have a chance next year!", but it's more of a surprise that Jones won in one of THE most conservative and religious states in the country.
