because Fox News is a reliable source. :derp

I wonder if it's because of the racist tone that Trump gives out.

That's a video they made themselves, what exactly is it exposing? :lmao

Not that I'm a big fan of CNN myself, I definitely think they're a bit too sensationalist.

No, Fox News is not reliable at all. They cater clearly to the uninformed republicans and conservatives and report news as what the two groups want to hear. Given what I know about the republicans, anything geared towards them is not honest information at all. Ted Cruz is one politician that likes to lie or use his demographics' inability or refusal to look up information to his advantage. At this point, CNN is far more legit than Fox News will ever be, until they cut out obvious catering to a political affiliation.

Well, sharkbait used the word "clickbaity" which I think suggests two things:

1.- He doesn't know what clickbait is.
2.- He takes offense with them publishing something meant to be humorous.

Well, that, or I completely missed the point here.

That CNN are fool of goofballs on camera and they shouldnt be trusted. They also made tons of mistakes this year reporting active shooters when there werent any, mistaking flags as ISIS symbols and in that video many other mistakes. I avoid CNN for their blatant non partisian coverage.

I mean, whether any of that is true or not, the same exact thing can be said about Fox News, you just seem more inclined to enjoy their kind of bias...

My issue with CNN isn't whether they're politically biased or not. The issue with them is that they latch onto things and insist on around the clock coverage to the point that it's overbearing. They also bring on people from all sorts of political persuasions to give their thoughts on things, but as they're not journalists themselves, they can sometimes do and say stupid things. I guess this is how they get away with non-biased hosts (aside from Don Lemon, perhaps). But again, I guess they still might not get the ratings Fox News and MSNBC get.

Ironic, once again, as Fox News is way worse, yet you trust them. I also remember them saying Net Neutrality was shot down when in reality, it was approved. For that reason, you should avoid Fox News too because they're extremely biased. However, it seems like you're okay with biased sources that tend to report incorrectly as long as they adhere to or agree with your views, which is a common theme amongst the republicans that I know.

Is there a republican candidate that has the least cancerous effect on US? Out of the democrats, I can only think of Bernie.

^to be fair, anyone paying attention to foxnews will develop a basic misunderstanding of net neutrality, specially considering they basically endorse the sheer idiocy republican candidates spout about it.

You have Ted "I literally and overtly don't know what net neutrality is" Cruz. I question whether he has ever used the internet or even knows what it is.

Marco "Everything I say is the absolute worst generic republican stereotype but I pretend it's hip and cool and new" rubio. I mean, the guy doesn't even disagree with net neutrality, he just doesn't want government. The stuff in his own website does not make a shred of sense. He seems to have at best a moderate grasp at what this whole "internet" thing is but not enough for his opinion to fully evidence it.

You have Donald "I talk therefore I am" trump. I mean, this literally means nothing.

Then there is Ben "God dammit kids, stop pestering me about this complicated net stuff. In my day nets were for fishing. And get off my lawn, I am literally too old for this shit".

And finally Jeb " I want to be an asshole about this" bush.

And the absolute worst thing about this is that republicans on average agree with what was done with net neutrality. In other words not only republican republican candidates opinions on net neutrality vary between "I don't get this. I wish there was some way I could just access the whole of the worlds information to inform myself about this" and "objective idiocy" but they are literally going up against what their own supporters want. So far trump easily has the most coherent opinion on the matter based on him literally saying nothing about this.

I don't think any of them really understand the internet that well. Their debate when online security (?) was brought up further reinforces my point. Scary thing is, their supporters will believe any crap that comes out of their mouth.

Yes, the core of the problem there is that certain people are manipulating a certain false premise which is being taken to its logical extreme in modern day reactionary ideology. Starting from that false premise, you get:

ALL government regulation = bad/anti-"freedom"
Net Neutrality = government regulation
∴ Net Neutrality = bad/anti-"freedom"

There are other such false premises involved, but I think this is the big one at the crux of it (for those who are still confused, and for those who want to manipulate them).

Agreed, I absolutely hate how they can spend multiple days on a 24/7 network talking about the same 2 or 3 topics the entire time. But they've chosen to go for temporary ratings spikes all the time instead of steadily building a solid reputation for journalistic integrity that will attract a loyal following. The sad thing is all signs point to the possibility there likely IS a market for good (especially investigative) journalism, but they can't bear to weather the low ratings numbers they will have to sustain temporarily in order to get there, as word of mouth spreads. It also would cost more though, which is certainly a major hurdle, but CNN is one of the organizations best positioned to be able to afford that expense, if they ever wanted to get serious.

But something else I hate about cable networks like CNN is that they actually don't have a lot of depth to the issues they do cover. They'll get two (or the equivalent of 2) of the safest "experts" (often just pundits, who are only fellow journalists and not experts at all) to give you the same "debate" based in a false dichotomy every single time... when there are often further highly valid angles that deserve attention. (Every now and then they'll include another viewpoint but lowkey trash it repeatedly throughout the segment, playing favourites instead of challenging everyone with fair scrutiny.)

There can be a problem with false equivalency reporting (i.e. climate change deniers being treated as mainstream), but I think that's more a problem of lazy presentation (and lazy reporting). If someone was spreading false rumours about you and they seemed to be catching on, would you ignore them and just hope they go away? No, you do what you can to debunk and counter that narrative. Same thing with bad science and corrupt lobbyists.

There are so many who have expertise in a field but who also make engaging media personalities, like Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Bill Nye, or even CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta (who I don't always like but at least he's not Dr. Oz). In my ideal world, every news story would consult with not only people like them, but also make an effort to include some ordinary people (enough ego-tripping journalists!) from different walks of life, especially those who would be most affected by a proposed policy under discussion, in order to get their reactions in real time. They might not cover every angle in every show they do about a topic, but they would ensure you KNOW there are other competing ways to think about that issue, and they would get to all the ones they reasonably can, eventually.

Mr Sanders continues to live a double standard. As a democrat he should be following rules for great use of donors money and fly only on mainline non private flights like most Americans. He continues to show reasons for not voting for him.

Name other candidates who don't do this

You read the article, right? It's supposedly due to a dip in campaign donations. The opposite is probably happening with Sander's campaign, hence the change. I don't understand why you think this is an issue.
Because in our state of virginia we are extremely concerned with candidates use of money on private things and more. Surely anyone remembers the candidates use of commercial airliners or private and facing scrutiny for wasting money. Worst yet jail time for improper use of money.

Well fair enough, but why fixate on one candidate? And how is a private jet considered misuse of donations when they use it to campaign and the office they're running for has an entire 747 to himself paid for with tax money?

How much money does Marco Rubio's campaign spend on private jets? Where do you think he gets that money?

This is ridiculous. There is nothing inherently wrong with sanders using a private jet for his campaign. It's not like he used his party's credit card for personal expenses ( which is colloquially known as blatant thievery ) or claims to support balanced budgets while buying a boat while being borderline bankrupt.

I think it is. When ones campaign is focused on addressing the wealth disparities, using a private jet, something that non wealthy Americans cant fly on, it raises ones eyebrows at the hypocritical double standard Sanders is claiming he stands for. There are alternatives like driving to town hall meetings grass roots style, train or bus for his staffers is available.

don't see what's hard to understand. For republicans, it's okay if other fellow republicans or conservatives steal stuff, lie, attack other republicans, or whatever, but if a democrat or liberal does it, SHAME ON THEM! Republicans are full of double standards, which I thought was obvious.
