I know you lack knowledge and common sense, but he definitely isn't a radical left socialist. Biden himself admits it and has been distancing himself from actual leftists. I swear, if you actually fact check things and not believe memes from far right or believe Trump's lies, you might actually have a chance of being right every once in a while.

Is this a joke that I'm just not getting? Do you not understand how election results are reported? Maryland as an example - the extreme West of the state and the Eastern Shore are pretty red but are much less populated, hence they report their results first. Trump could have won 100% of the votes in those places and he would still lose the state. The key parts of the state are the more heavily populated counties in the I-95 corridor, and they take longer to report their results. Hillary Clinton won Maryland by 25+ points, Trump was never winning there.

You can say the same thing with Virginia, the more populated areas are in the North near DC and they're going to report their results last. The margins might be different with VA because of the size of the state, but if Trump doesn't carry enough of the sparsely populated counties to make up the difference, the chances of him winning the state are non-existent.

Now a projection being wrong can happen, but how is that fake news? People don't stop counting votes if a particular news outlet calls a state for someone... The results still have to be certified.

I love how the more you talk, the more you show how little knowledge you have in anything political. Not to mention, those numbers look outdated.

THe primary wrongdoings came from republicans and republican supporters, from losing/throwing out ballots and removing mailboxes to voter suppression and voter intimidation.

#1 On Friday, Pennsylvania's Supreme Court ruled unanimously on a key concern surrounding an avalanche of mailed ballots, prohibiting counties from rejecting them if the voter's signature on it does not resemble the signature on the voter's registration form.

No, Trump wants the Supreme Court involved because he's hoping the conservative judges he packed the court with will help him suppress votes and fix the election in his favor, because fuck what little democracy we have. Trump is doing nothing more than trying to cheat to win because he knows he's likely to lose through mail-in.

Democrats probably not being able to win the Senate is deeply troubling, the same is true for the only few house seats they flipped.

There is room to still flip the senate with georgia, maine and north carolina, because mail votes are still coming in and mostly democratic votes are still to be counted.

But it is clear that this is not the blowout democrats had hoped for, even if Biden might still end up winning by a fairly huge margin in the coming weeks and even tho Democrats may be lucky and get 51 Senate seats.

The troubling thing is how much more money they had than their republican opponents. They still were not able to win races in which they outraised their opponents 3 to 1. That means something is deeply wrong with the messaging and their target groups.

It seems like it was a mistake to cater to republican swingvoters. They didnt turn up in the numbers democrats had hoped for.
Similarly, they lost PoC voters to the republicans (which is a little shocking) while the saving grace was doing better with white men.

In a changing electorate, that is probably not going to cut it. In my opinion, no matter how you slice it, democrats need to embrace their left wing because it has shown to be popular and bring out numbers it historically didnt.

Without Covid and without Trump being insanely unpopular, Biden would not have had a chance in this election.
Voter suppression aside, in a united states with the demographic makeup it has, that is ashaming and they need to go soul searching after this, even if they win (which, as i said, I am optimistic about right now).

No. American rigfhtwing tends to be relatively extreme. As in, Biden is a centrist in the democratic party, but he is an economy friendly guy who long ran on law and order.
That would not be shockingly absurd for a middle left politician in a european country depending on the center for that country, but it still is hardly a classical leftist.

Biden is a centrist through and through. It is really just that the republican party has endorsed some absurd views that could make him be seen as left (absurd views when it comes to taxes, civil rights and law).

The bigger issue is that democrats in general actually can't win the senate. The degree to which the senate favors rural US puts democrats in a pretty terrible, and perhaps unassailable, position. Fivethirtyeight wrote an interesting article about this some time ago...

As for the bold part...

I think there are two issues for democrats in rural US:

Qanon: I think this is way bigger than the media gives it credit for. 30% of the US has gone utterly insane with this. And that 30% is going to weight a lot in rural states. Democrats basically have to overcome rural states believing they are satanic pedophile blood drinkers.

Tribalism: Obviously this relates to the qanon but this has at least a few more layers to it. There are way too many issues which are divided among partisan lines even though they don't even related to right or left wing issues. Climate change in the US is seen as a left wing issue even though the science behind it has nothing to do with left or right mumbe jumbo. This of course also ties into messaging and getting their base to actually vote for policy. It's a mistake for democrats to allow an election to not be about their candidate and policy. Regardless of the outcome, it's a simple fact that the 2016 and 2020 elections have been about trump, not hillary or biden....
