Dude, there's literal fucking tik tok creators in Israel openly mocking palestinians by wearing make up and putting white powder on there faces and shit even the fucking miltary is dancing and laughing
https://fxtwitter.com/_saker__/status/1715275823207350494 > Legit absolutely fucking disgusting anyone whose still defending this shit get a reality check, these people are wanting all palestinians wiped from a land that they stole. This is literally the same Zionism that Theoder Herzl preached for, literally wiping out an entire race of people which is what Netehyahu and his Zionist cronies want is the exact same as what Hilter wanted.
Right, I've seen it and other stuff.

But like I said, and I know I might be being pedantic, it's not Nazism. Invoking that term when talking about Jewish people is opening yourself up to criticism that distracts from your point. It's even more than fair to compare the obvious ethnic cleansing going on. But IMO it's important to be distinct and say that the Israeli government is run by ethnonationalists and neofascists.

From my understanding, Joe Biden does not support Palestine, but instead supports Israel. Why is that? I think Palestine is in the right here, and I definitely stand with them.

All USA presidents support Israel, Biden claimed many times that he is a zionist.

The only President that really criticized Israel at all was Obama, and he kind of walked his statement back regarding illegal settlements.

@M3J: Hearing more about the history between Israel and Palestine along with seeing Israel's behavior over tha past 2 weeks.

Initially the combination of nothing but pro Israel stuff on the news combined with a lot of lefties online failing to condemn Hamas, combined with being conditioned to see Jews as victims thanks to knowledge of their history and a lot of recent events last year with Kanye and stuff making anti Semitic views more prevalent in society made me think that a lot of people are using this event as an opportunity to be open about their jew hatred without being shouted down for it.

Cept here's the thing vast majority of Jews and I live near a Jewish community here, and I openly asked them and you know what they've pretty much told me they CONDEMN Israel for it is IN FACT A ZIONIST REGIME, and not just these people you can literally find numerous media sources be it articles, or videos of Jews calling this a Zionist Regime, an Apartheid state, calling out that in Judaism, there's no "claim to this land of Israel" in fact its literally what Zionism is by Thedor Herzl the Jewish man who pitched the idea of "claiming the land of Israel" to UK, the UK who decided not to consult the native people living in Palestine and give away the land without consent.

https://jewishcurrents.org/a-textbook-case-of-genocide > This dude is an Israeli Holocaust and Geocide Study Prof in the states btw legit calls this a genocide like bro, the fact Israel wants to wipe out ALL PALESTINIANS off the face of the earth is NO DIFFERENT from what Hitler's Nazi Germany wanted to do, WIPE OUT ALL JEWISH PEOPLE.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/mani...wish-leaders-unity-hamas-israel-war-1.7003820 > Here another Jewish man and I quote what he said:

"We grew up with this idea that as Jews — because antisemitism is so prevalent — that the only way for us to be safe is to have some place that we could go, should something like the Holocaust happen again."

Shuster said he's been called a "self-hating Jew" in the past for his critiques of Israel.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/israel-hamas-gaza-1.7000577
"If you criticize Israel for its treatment of Palestinians, it shouldn't be [called] antisemitism," he said.

"You can't have it both ways. You can't claim to be a democracy and then claim that you need to be protected for not behaving the way we expect democratic countries to behave."

> Rabbi explains Judaism is not Zionism and even explains that Israel is Zionism.

So clearly, multiply Jewish people around the world are able to distinctively tell the two are apart and call Israel out for what it is a Zionist Regime, an Apartheid state.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/CJi-AwESVEc > Another example calling out Israel for its Zionism and referencing the Naqba, which is literally what happened in 1948. > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakba

I don't even like HassanAbi but here's a video of him and a historian calling out a video for its false narratives where the historian is laying down facts. >

If we're talking about politicians, I've unfortunately seen too many support Israel or not show actual support for Palestine. Even the further left have been criticized, and it was disappointing to see Bernie and AOC not support Palestine.
[/QUOT
Most of politicians are in bed with Israel its no secret, But social media power is giving a voice to everyone and it can reach thousands, In that regard, I saw good people with platforms support Palestine from both left and right, however, like i said many republicans are just heartless, more like brainless.

So you refuse to open your eyes and result to insulting me huh, cool man guess you side with the oppressors who are fucking Nazis just like your dumbass American Government that are supporting Nazis, ignore the fact you failed to refute about South Africans who know their bloody history and are able to tell the difference and can easily see that what Israel is doing is an Apartheid, thank you for telling me that you are okay with a genocide of people.
I apologize for insulting you. At the time I replied I was fairly annoyed with things in general and brought that into this discussion when I should not have. That said, I did not feel your post addressed much of anything I said, and in fact made many (incorrect) assumptions about how I feel about the topic. I feel that you misunderstood this part of my post:

The moral of the story is that Israel isn't going to bomb Hamas/Palestine into submission, and Hamas/Palestine isn't going to terrorize Israel into ending their occupation
I was not claiming that Israel isn't bombing Hamas (or that they never have). On the contrary, this statement's intention was to communicate that no amount of bombing is going to solve anything, as these problems are likely to continue. Most of what I said in my post is objectively true, too. Hamas leaders do in fact mostly reside outside of the Gaza Strip and West Bank. Israel very likely prefers the regional tension as it puts them in a position to receive foreign aid. It's also unlikely that Hamas's actions ever lead to the ending of the Palestinian occupation.

To address the actual post here:
What did you honestly expect me to say? I try not to engage with Straw Man tactics, which you are heavily relying on. If you can post in a way that avoids deploying such tactics then I would be happy to engage in a discussion about it, and you may find I actually agree with you on some things. On the contrary, if you're going to just call anyone who disagrees with you on this topic a Nazi and say they're OK with genocide then what's the point? I also just don't really get how South Africa's opinion on the topic is relevant to anything I said. I mean, it's basically "Known supporter of Palestine supports Palestine, says situation is bad." It added nothing to the discussion and feels like yet another Straw Man ("you don't agree with this government who had an Apartheid? You must be pro genocide!!!").

All I really see are Straw Mans, no sources on anything or quotes beyond your own opinion and I believe you can do better.

From my understanding, Joe Biden does not support Palestine, but instead supports Israel. Why is that? I think Palestine is in the right here, and I definitely stand with them.
At the risk of yet again having everyone make assumptions about my stance on this topic, I will try to answer this. You're asking why a politician has a main stream opinion. It's because he would like to win the election next year. Throwing in for Palestine is a sure fire way to ensure that Trump 2024 comes to life. Here's what Joe Biden throwing support for Palestine looks like:

First debate - everything will be about Joe Biden supporting a terrorist organization (Hamas). There will be very little focus on the occupation of Palestine in Gaza and West Bank. Any attempts Joe makes will be met with obstinate resistance: "So you are on Team Iran?", "You can't support Palestine without supporting Hamas!"

Millions of Trump's campaign dollars will funnel into the most important effort of its existence: coming up with a nickname for Joe Biden that will resonate with Trump's base just like "Crooked Hillary" did.

There will be some obvious accusations of anti-semitism against Joe (which will be odd, seeing as how the alt-right actually has Nazis) which will stick. You'll see political ads with Joe's forehead featuring a swatsika.

ANY fucked up thing that Hamas does will be brought up in a negative light in campaign ads against Joe Biden. You'll probably see campaign ads that are just footage from the attack a couple of weeks ago that end with something like, "Joe Biden is OK with this. Are you?"

This is all assuming he doesn't lose to a late primary challenger after committing political suicide. Also, a lot of dark blue voting districts are very populated with Jewish people. Jews in the USA are mostly liberal, but a president or any politician taking a stance against Israel is likely to change that for at least that election.

On top of all of that the USA is strategically aligned with Israel, so the president coming out and saying they don't support the biggest (and one of the only*) allies they have in the entire region is not going to poll well. It also doesn't poll well to throw in support of Palestine when you have kidnapped or killed Americans over there in the past couple of weeks.

Disclosure: The above has nothing to do with my opinion on this topic. It's just my thoughts on how a President throwing in support for Palestine would go.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

I wouldn't say that.

I went from unbridled support for Israel to supporting neither, to supporting Palestine a smidge more. All in the course of that time.
I feel like most people I know weren't strongly opinionated on the topic, and the recent events sort of served the purpose of bringing the situation back into view (as it comes back into view every decade or so). In modern days there's a lot more unbiased evidence of Israel's misdeeds so it's easier to align with them than it was 10 years ago.

I wasn't strongly opinionated on it either until the attack that kicked all of this off, just like with Ukraine. Not a lot of people pay attention to global politics here in the states, and I'm no different.

A lot of lefties won't condemn Hamas because Hamas either aren't guilty of what they're accused of, or because they're in response to what Israel is doing. I wish more people realized that instead of demanding every single Muslim condemn Hamas.

The hatred for Jews is a thing, sadly, but it's not from Palestinians. Even Israel is attacking Jews who disagree with Zionism and are siding with Palestinians.

At least three or four bigoted/right wing accounts seem to be pretending to support Palestine just so they can get engagement and make money off that, which is a problem since it takes away voice from Palestinians.

If someone insists anti-Zionism is anti-Semitic, refer them to this video

Sound quality is kind of crap, but the content is good

If it's not just a grifter's motivation, if someone is far-right and supports Palestine, it's pretty damn likely that they're anti-semites. Not that it's necessarily a requirement though. There's examples of anti-Semites that are zionists, the same way racists supported the Back-to-Africa movement. It's mentioned in the video I just linked.

That makes sense, but I always figured Muslims were even more hated than Jews.

I think nowadays there are more anti-Semitic Zionists, especially given what Israel represents.

Muslims definitely shot up in the wake of 9/11 but most white supremacists I've seen blame Jews far more for everything. They're basically behind the "white genocide" and replacement theory shit. Essentially, Muslims or any POC is bad in their eyes, but the reason why they're even an issue for them is because of some Jewish conspiracy. I've even seen specific pagan white supremacists in Europe try to appeal to Muslims through a mutual hatred. But basically any issue a white supremacist has with anyone of any "unsavory" ethnic background can be blamed on Jews somehow.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

And then you in turn have people like Netanyahu using that sort of association to say the Grand Mufti of Palestine is who inspired Hitler to go through with the Holocaust. Basically Netanyahu is trying to suggest that the Holocaust would have never happened if it wasn't for Muslims.

> 54 year old white man in America learns and educated himself on this "conflict" which isnt even a conflict and even he calls Isrealis as Zionist-Jews, almost like all the Jews who have studied and preached Judaism have said that Zionism is not Judaism, "Claiming the land of Israel" is Zionism and not Judaism, amazing how I'm told in this thread that its not Zionism, and yet some of you ignore that literal Jews around the world ARE CONDEMNING Israel, amazing huh on top of that dude even says he might be one guy but he's gonna use his voice to spread awareness and make sure people know the truth now that and in his words "you have white people speaking out against this" and will not be voting at all lmfao.

> Jewish man literally calls what Israel is doing a violation of Judaism.

Another one. Aiding and abetting false statements in writing.

Go after all of them. ALL OF THEM.

Anyone who's asserted the election was stolen or rigged. Get em' all. Even better: she says "I didn't make sure facts other lawyers said were true were actually true."

I wonder which lawyers she's talking about? And is she gonna have to testify to that? I just wanna see Giulianni have to plead guilty on tv. I wanna see how far the MAGAts go to pretend reality isn't real.

Just a reminder that a good chunk of these folk believe that trump is still in fact the president, that he currently leads at least half of the US army, that he personally executed Hillary years ago for treason and the hillary that occasionally shows up on TV is a clone or robot or whatever.

Yeah.

But I think there are "enlightened centrists" that are convinced the crazies aren't that plentiful, or that we're just seeing the worst of them on tv. I've given up on Republicans, but the centrists can still be saved I think. I think. And if they can, the optics help.

Who said what isn't Zionism? I'm not sure who you're referring to here

Most Conservatives do, but the far-right and unapologetic white supremacists probably don't IMO
