Re: NBA thread

ok I youtubed it..

OMG that superman dunk wasn't even a dunk! was that intentional or accidental?

but that last dunk though, that was nice. I've never seen that before.

oh and I just read about Kobe playing limited minutes due to injury...what's up with that? that's so uncharacteristic of him..he always play while injured.

Re: NBA thread

no, he shouldn't be playing, but nba forbids it cause its just a pinkie, so byron scott just let him play for two minutes and didnt let him come back. but his injury is really serious man, it could leave him out for the rest of the season, but he chose not to, instead resting for six weeks, because he really believes this season is the closest chance he has at the championship, with the lakers on third at the west, with gasol and bynum returning

Re: NBA thread

the Net's president has informed a team aministrator that the Jason Kidd trade is a go. How much will this trade affect balance in the West?

Re: NBA thread

Not a nuggets fan but im an Iverson fan. Dont count them out. They are at the 9 spot and the fact that they have a 60% winning percentage just shows how good the west is.

Re: NBA thread

lets look at the west
1. * LA Lakers --
2. * San Antonio 0.5
3. Phoenix 1.0
4. * Utah 3.0
5. New Orleans 1.5
6. Dallas 1.5
7. Houston 3.0
8. Golden State 5.5
9. Denver 6.0
10. Portland 10.0
11. Sacramento 12.5
12. LA Clippers 19.0
13. Seattle 23.5
14. Memphis 25.0
15. Minnesota 27.0

so far, its been a tight battle from 1-9, which is crazy, the difference of 1 from 9 is only six games. if this standing holds come playoff spots, one out of houston utah denver and GS will have to go. so far its denver. but im guessing its gonna be GS. utah is on top of its division so it has a higher ranking, and while houston is on fire it's fourth in the texas division. honestly i love all the contenders in the west except san antonio. they're boring. utah as well. GS may be a dark horse but they sure are the most entertaining team in the nba since the jordan bulls!

and shit, yao is out for 4 months. shit. that was painful to hear. tmac is going home early again

Re: NBA thread

Im not sure man, I see playoffs for the Cavs and Lebron is having the better season. 30 pts 8rebs and 7assists is what Lebrons averaging.

I think the saddest part about Yao's injury is that he might not be able to compete in the
Beijing Olympics
this summer.

Yao says:
"If I cannot play in the Olympics for my country this time, it will be the biggest loss in my career to right now."

re: Kobe for MVP:

I think it's safe to say that Kobe has proved he's top candidate for this year's MVP. Not only is he putting up the stats, but at least now, his team is actually winning. In addition, he's been distributing the ball more than ever, so the argument that he's a "ball hog" does not hold water.

Exactly. They wont 10 in a row and they played preety basketball.

If the Lakers are going to roll like they are rollin right now,Lebron aint gettin shit, hes team aint gonna win as much as the Lakers. And stats dont mean shit in da nba rankings,Nash got it with 12pts 11ass or something and won it twice,Kobe used to score ~35.5pts per game and none,Lebron will get his time, but now its Kobe.

Re: NBA thread

Nash had like 17 and 12 assists in the years he won mvp, actually I think his scoring was a bit higher and the Sun's were near the top of the West. Kobe and Lebron are the top 2 candidates in my opinion. I think Lebron should get it though, he is having a better season.

Re: NBA thread

Nah its gonna be Kobe,if Kobe doesnt get it,then it would be a major dissapoinment. And it would be a fact that the legue hates Kobe, but now the Lakers are on da top of the West,he realy deserves it.Nash had a good record and made Amare and Shawn better,i think Kobe did that to!

Re: NBA thread

Im just one of those people who think that the player who had the best season should win MVP. If we are talking about giving it to the best player on the top team then its definitly Kobe and maybe they give a little thought to KG but in terms of who is having the best season, I say Lebron.

well, if you have a guy who's scored 81 points and virtually proved that he's a scoring machine, a season where he's averaging less than 30 points is considered pathetic.

you have a guy who's never won an MVP, yet has been a top candidate for it in the past 6 or so consecutive years, another year being ignored is easy..

when you have a guy who's never won an MVP, yet behind closed doors people admit he is the best player in the league at both ends of the floor, why does Kobe need an MVP trophy anyway? who cares..

yes, the league definitely has a bias towards Kobe, isn't it obvious?

I think the MVP should be given to the guy who works the hardest, gets his teammates involved (and in the process, makes everyone better), and also being in one of the best teams in the league.

does Kobe work hard? Absolutely...he's played through injuries, and not once did he ever complain about it. I wouldn't be surprised if, yet again, Kobe doesn't get it...what's new?

does he get his teammates involved? let's just look at the two most improved players in his team: Vucacic and Farmar.

fine...let's give it to Lebron, a team that will probably not go anywhere in the postseason.

a better candidate than Lebron, if you ask me, is Chris Paul.

If the best personal season, then why Kobe didnt get it last year and year before that, why T-Mac didnt get it when he was in Orlando??It has to envolve the team to in this times.
