Re: Boku no Hero Academia by Horikoshi Kouhei

Chapter 8 was sweet! Liked the "Deku" declaration, massive points win with the girl, gj Midoriya!

Also, have you see the guy's mask who said that Bokugou's ambush was "unmanly"? That guy carries an Akumetsu mask, AWESOME!!!!! 8D
If you don't know that is a manga about an "anti-hero" who kills himself and a evil guy one at the time, and not small criminals and such but powerful people in big positions who actions and plans had ruined the lives of thousands or millions of people. It is a pretty good story and also a sad one as each time he dies to basically die for his sin to kill somebody, a new him replaces his old one and everybody believes he is still the same though he is not. A bit confusing at some points of the story but defintely a good manga. Am glad Horikoshi made an Akumetsu reference! <3

And from what I saw in the raw I can se cleavage girl with the cool hairdo become a fan favorite.^^

Very good so far, but can't help notice it sticks closely to derivative themes and cliches. Maybe they are playing it safe while its still new but one does hope it strikes on a unique angle soon and not become similar to fairy tail.

Cliches are unavoidable this early I think. I have the same fear as you but I am ok with it as long as they are well used.

The storyline so far is a bit generic, but its pure fun at its core. I can't wait for more...

So his explosion powers are related to his sweat...:oh, he must be weaker in winter then. The tittle of warped genius fits him perfectly.

I don't particularly root for Izuku but Bakugou needs to lose this.

That is some good win ... not an ass pull or anything ... but straight out strategic win ... liked it ... Would love to hear the losing team after this ..

Good that he didn't win by KOing Bakugou, would have found that surrealistic.

Liked the page with Izuku calling him a dumbass :lmao.

How so? Izuku punch with all the power, would have killed him! If Izuku at that time were able to control the strength, he could have won by KOing Bakugou! I don't see surrealism in that possibility. Of course this one is way better. :)

That's it. He doesn't control his Quirk yet, Bakugou is clearly the better fighter ATM, if killing was allowed Bakugou could have killed him with his ultimate attack.

But since that day with All Might he being training to have better control. The importance of that increased even more with the first day of school! So him training off-screen that ability and being able to have a better control now is not any kind of stretch. It could be the big surprise of the chapter.

Now this outcome is better, because I want his learning to be more gradual.

Wow impressive chapters I must say.

I really like how the mangaka is using for his story his characters' personalities and quirks very well. Bakugou's and Midoriya's common childhood history was such a great background for their fight. It was not lame or bland nor was the pace slow. The fight had a great progression with a great outcome. Bakugou will have to become less individualistic so that he can become a great hero. He should observe Midoriya well because his rival/friend is truly becoming more impressive

The recommended student are really awesome .. Bakugou gives a vibe of a villain rather than a hero... I am still confused whether he has an inferiority complex or a superiority complex ....

The villain designs look cool ... They give a dangerous vibes ...

I am worried about symbol of peace ... with all big talks surrounding him, he doesn't look that all mighty, considering the time limit he has for being in the all mighty form ... I would like to see his special moves and all...

By the way , it would be interesting if al might is out of picture and Midoriya has to figure out his quirk all by himself ..

Re: Boku no Hero Academia by Horikoshi Kouhei

I finally caught up with it and I have to say it totally deserves its position as new success from Shonen Jump, it has a lot of potential.
The beginning of the story was very normal, with the training and all, but when the Entrance Exam started and when Midoriya got in the school, it really showed its full potential: good characters with superb character design and personality; we only had good developments from Midoriya (from wimp to brave), Uraraka (she will be a great support to Midoriya it seems) and Bakugou (everything at him is explosive!), that said I think the next chapters could focus on some of the other characters, some of them were introduced in chapter 11 as recomended students and they are awesome as well, I hope this next arc gives more opportunity to them to shine now that Midoriya and Bakugou problem is "solved".

The first class with Eraserhead was awesome, but I got into it in the battle between Midoriya and Bakugou, what an awesome battle, full of tension and explosions! I really thought that Midoriya and Uraraka strategy was awesome, but it was full of failures in the end, it is nice, it means that they are far from perfect and barely won. The fact that Midoriya didn't win upon Bakugou directly was also a good point, it would unreal.

I expect some good battle from this next arc. Since it is pro villains, the teachers will have to show their strength, it is good to improve our parameters, until now we only saw students most of the time and we tend to think that they are incredible, but pro heroes should be even more interesting to watch. Let's go to some serious battles! I'm hyped! :XD

Ochako is definitely shaping up to be a good female protagonist. And as you said, she'll be a great support in the future not just mentally, but physically as well. Think about it, her quirk allows her to reduce to the gravity of objects, who's to say she won't develop the ability to increase the gravity pull of objects in the future?

Now, going back to Izuku's quirk, we know that it puts an ungodly amount of strain on his body, but Ochako's quirk can off-set that drawback. Think of the Raikage-Oonoki combo in Naruto. When Izuku learns how to use his quirk with his legs, Izuku can rely on her by making him lighter, thus only needing just a very small amount of leg power to move around. With this, he can achieve All Might's agility at the cost of a small fraction of the power output. And when he needs to hit his opponent, Ochako can multiply his gravity for extra stopping power at again, a small fraction of the power output needed for a hit. All in all, it makes them a perfect combo.
