Its not that people can't take criticism of their favorite series. Most people criticize aspects of a creator yet still enjoy their work. If you only have bad things to say about a series why are you even reading it? Its quite obvious that its not your cup of tea or you dont think the author is doing a good job. If an author is, in your opinion, doing a bad job and you believe they can do better, yes you stay and criticize. However if what you consider a bad job keeps happening most people will drop said work instead of just torturing themselves by reading it. If you stay, knowing what to expect, then at that point constructive criticism just becomes hate because you end up only seeing the things you dont like about the series. The reason people are frustrated is because most people who complained about Fairy Tail always complained about the same things till the end. The PoF, the plot, the fanservice. And yet throughout all of Fairy Tail those things have never changed. They are always there and the author didn't seem like he would get rid of them. Its strange to assume that he would now. Therefore knowing that, if I disliked those things I would have dropped this series the moment I realized that its something that will most likely always be prevalent in his works.
Yea if people only focus on the negative things that they dont like about a series all the time and never talk about anything positive its obvious that they are not enjoying it and there is no real reason for them not to simply drop the series.
And yea when people hate and complain about Fairy Tail they always talk about the exact same stuff all the time like the friendship, fanservice and a few other things but that stuff kept happening in Fairy Tail over and over from beginning to end so if that stuff really annoyed them so much they should have stopped following the series many years ago.
Thats Hiro Mashimas style and how he likes to do things and i think the Japanese fans like the friendship stuff, the fanservice and most of the other things people here complain about so i think the big Mashima and Fairy Tail hate is mostly or only a western thing.
Its the Japanese fans that these manga authors mostly listen to and care about i think and if the Japanese complained about that stuff the same way people do here he probably would have stopped doing it.
It seems to me like Edens Zero is going to continue doing all that stuff people hated so much about Fairy Tail so the people that dont want to see that should understand that it would be a good idea to drop the series now that it just started.
If they keep reading the series only to complain about it for a long time i guess they will start using that "im only reading it to see how it ends" excuse again.
I personally love the focus on how important friends and family is in Fairy Tail, Edens Zero and other mangas and anime and i love sexual fanservice so those are great and positive things to me that makes me enjoy these series and other mangas and animes way more.
I strongly suspect that most people here in the west actually like and enjoy those things just like Japan does but must pretend that they are against it because thats the opinions you are expected to have here nowadays to be normal and morale and to be politically correct.

Ft was my fave manga and i like edens but let me say this. The people complaining are mostly bandwagon. Sure theyll talk shit about FT and EZ but you know damn sure behind the scenes its their guilty pleasure to indulge into the series. Take Black clover for example. People, especially youtuber reviewers tried to talk so much shit but now they cant because its actually pretty good. If you dont like you wouldnt read. You read because deep inside you like it but youre basically to stubborn and tsundere to admit that you like said story. Easy to see through peoples bs. And sorry for the profanity if profanity wasnt allowed.
I suspect that many people that hate on Fairy Tail are only really doing it because its a popular thing to do and people want to be part of the crowd.
Its probably a peer pressure or mob mentality thing.
People hear so much hate on Fairy Tail on the internet that they feel that they must do the same and they see other people complain about power of friendship, fanservice and other things so often that they just automatically start saying the same stuff.
I saw plenty of people complain about power of friendship and fanservice when nothing like that was even happening in the chapter.
Or maybe there was just a tiny bit if fanservice in the chapter in only like one panel or maybe the characters just said the word friend once and power of friendship and fanservice was the only things many people talked about.
Fairy Tail was always one of the mangas that got the most attention, views and comments.
In the old days atlest if you really did not like something you avoided it.
I suspect that many of the people that complained and hated on the series actually liked and enjoyed it but did not wanna admit it.
I saw the same people that loved to complain about the series come back every single week for many years so if they really hated the series they probably would have stopped following it and stopped caring about it a long time ago.
Like why care about seeing whats going to happen next in a series if you hate everything about the story, the characters and everything else in general.
