Elizabeth being the only child of the SG would be boring. She'll be only the "heir" to the throne because Elizabeth the sole child of her mother. Look at the dynamic between the 3 Demon princes much more interesting than would be. And Meliodas being heir to his father despite 2 brothers is more impressive than him being heir because he a only child.
Wow thats crazy bro but I like the idea. Imagine if Elizabeth has sisters who like Estarossa whom a Goddess whos suppose not to have darkness but she had after SD bore her.damn. Make it happen NS make it happen.lol

Elizabeth is the current heir to the throne because there is no other child that can ascend as the next Supreme Deity. Personally, I believe that the SD does care for her to an extent, since Ludoshel's offer indicates a form of parental affection from her to Elizabeth.

Even if the Supreme Deity dislikes Elizabeth and has little care or affection for her daughter, it's still beneficial to have the princess of the clan under her full control. I'm sure we can agree that Elizabeth has abilities that are very powerful for a war. Imagine if the Goddesses were in a war against the demons. Having Elizabeth active as the support has huge amounts of benefit, since her healing is easily the strongest. One example of Elizabeth's huge beneficial input is during the Indura battle. If it wasn't for her, there was a likely chance the Indura would've killed the Archangels or grievously harmed them. But since she was there, they came out of it perfectly healthy, whilst neutralising and weakening two commandment users. Having a daughter or ''pawn'' if she doesn't care for her in a war is very beneficial, especially when Goddess Elizabeth is arguably stronger than the AA's, or at the very minimum top tier Goddess class.

Personally, I believe the Supreme Deity wanted Elizabeth to be the heir to the throne because she was the only child and had the power + potential to do so. But because of Elizabeth's personality and ideals, her daughter out right rejected it unlike Meliodas who accepted his future position before his betrayal. Maybe this is why the AA don't recognise her as the true heir because Elizabeth herself refused the position immediately. However, I do believe the SD was perhaps persistent on Elizabeth becoming the heir but recognised she wasn't ready or suitable yet. Elizabeth's personality is not suitable for the next God and leader of the Goddesses, so to mould her own daughter into the best candidate: she sent her out into the battlefield during the holy war in order to change her ''pacifistic ideals''. After all, pacifism during a war can easily be changed. Imagine if a friend of Elizabeth's died right in front of her due to her peaceful ways? It almost force her to change ideals as she would recognise that her pacifism was foolish and incorrect. But, I believe this attempt from the Supreme Deity failed (incredibly) since instead of Elizabeth changing her stance in her ideals, she in fact forced them greatly on the battlefield and on the people around them. I mean, the Archangels wanted to eliminate the ten commandments but because of Elizabeth, all of them survived. One thing I have always wondered is why Elizabeth was specifically punished for her actions. I mean, all she did was fall in love with Meliodas and converted him, which is a benefit for the Supreme Deity since it brought over the second strongest demon to the Goddesses under the influence of her own daughter. Doing this also prevented a future Demon King from spawning and ascending to the throne - another benefit for the SD. The other action she was punished for was for saving the enemy, also known as not killing Derriere/Monspiet when they were unconscious. This isn't specifically a ''betrayal'' and something that is worthy of punishment. Because without Elizabeth's interference, the AA's might've suffered serious damage or even death. But due to her interference, the Goddesses were able to still neutralise two commandments and weaken them to a degree. I don't believe that ''saving the enemy'' and falling in love with Meliodas really deserved eternal suffering so it makes me question maybe the SD punished her for not conforming to the throne and her expectations. Kind of a ''You still defy me? Well let's see if 3000 years of suffering keeps you disobedient to me.''. Might be possible the curse was also a form of conditioning, to change her daughter into a fit candidate for the throne, since it would have the potential to once again eliminate Elizabeth's peaceful ideals.

If you look at Ludoshel, he directly disobeyed an order from his superior whilst fighting the commandments. Elizabeth, as the princess who is technically of a superior rank to anyone in the clan besides her mother, told him to step down and stop interfering against her purifying the commandment, but he completely ignored her (committing ''treason'') and went against such orders. Why doesn't the Supreme Deity punish him for his treason? Well to me it seems like the SD is much more critical and attentive to Elizabeth's actions than to anyone else in the clan because she is her daughter and the future heir to the throne.

Just to mention, I think there might be a possibility that the SD loves Elizabeth as a daughter. Since if she's the only child it leaves much more room for the SD to put attention on her. It would be a nice addition as well to make the Gods different. DK doesn't love his children whilst the SD loves her only child.

Let me start things off:
I don't think SD gives a flying f*ck about Elizabeth personally. She is valued only for what contributions she makes to the Holy war and if she uses her gifts to fight for her, the SD would forgive her and take her back. Elizabeth undoubtedly has a myriad of goddess powers which she excels in even beyond the AA, but the SD simply doesnt care about these abilities because she won't use them for her. Why put your child, however talented, in charge of your military if theyre just going to spout hippie peace bs?

Elizabeth is the heir imho. Simply because she is the only child as far as we know. But the need for an heir seems rather inconsequential since to all appearances the gods are immortal. The DK only wants Mel back because he's proud of him, not because he's dying and needs an heir. The SD otoh is sickened by Elizabeth's lack of antipathy for the demons and thus exiled her.

She currently has no rank in the goddess clan. Sariel and Tarmiel care for her and respect her abilities so they support her and call her "lady." However, Ludociel uses the term mockingly and the SD has cast her out until she eventually helps her win the war.
I believe she cares for Elizabeth's abilities, because they are exceptional and beneficial for the clan. But in a personal context, from a standpoint to a Mother and Daughter relationship - the SD doesn't care, she just wants to use her as the heir to the throne and future tool, just like how the Demon King only wants Meliodas as his successor and not because he loves/cares for him.

If the Gods are immortal and ever-lasting, why does the Demon King want Meliodas as his heir? To me that doesn't scream ''I'm immortal'' (DK perception) but rather ''I am long-lasting but eventually will die, so I need an heir''.

The Gods probably live for dozens of the average Demon/Goddess life-span (e.g 1500 years for an average Goddess is 5000 for the SD?). I don't believe they have eternal life, since they seem pretty desperate to acquire a power such as Merlin's ''infinity'' which has the potential to grant eternal life.

Elizabeth technically doesn't have a rank among the Goddesses, since it's just ''princess''. But with that title it naturally demands a lot of respect from those outside the royal family in the clan. Even after Elizabeth was punished and ''betrayed them'', the AA's still heavily respect her title as the princess. Even Ludoshel. He never disrespects her title, but only her character and beliefs. Since she has such a title and the AA's respect her, she has a great influence over them. Sariel & Tarmiel seem quite loyal to her and whilst Ludoshel isn't and freely ignores her wishes, the other AA's influence him. Ludoshel was trying to belittle her but the second Sariel told him to shut up, he did so. Elizabeth's position is quite convenient in this war. She commands the sins and has great influence over the AA's.

How would it be boring? Elizabeth being the only child adds more chemistry and a deeper meaning to the relationship between herself and her mother, the Supreme Deity. Personally, I don't find the relationship from the Demon King to his sons meaningful or impacting, because he doesn't really care for them besides using them as tools of war or as suitable heir to the thrones.

If the SD had a deeper relationship with Elizabeth, maybe to the possibility of loving her - then it would add character for one of the Gods, and make the relationship between them much more interesting.

Meliodas in my opinion being the heir over the over two brothers isn't that impressive since he's just a behemoth and the natural option for the next King. Now if all 3 of them were equivalent candidates and there was a struggle for a choice of the next heir then that would be much more interesting and make Meliodas much more impressive as the heir.

Wow thats crazy bro but I like the idea. Imagine if Elizabeth has sisters who like Estarossa whom a Goddess whos suppose not to have darkness but she had after SD bore her.damn. Make it happen NS make it happen.lol
I really don't like this. Nakaba introducing siblings now without ANY foreshadowing and hints is absolute bullshit. He's had many times to do it but has failed each time.

Now, if Nakaba properly introduced them and build them in an acceptable way then I can accept this.

But on a personal note, I want Elizabeth to be the only child of a God because it puts more spotlight and attention on her - which I want because I love her so much. But that's probably me being a bit too selfish after watching an Elizabeth get no spotlight for near 200 chapters :teehee:3c:-_-:cheez

You know, I understand why you are assuming that she is the heir. But nothing says that being the child of the SD makes you the next leader. So far it's not been said that monarchy is applied in NNT. Meliodas is indeed a prince, the first son and was going to be the next DK, but no one said that it's because of his lineage. It's because he was powerful and had the ruthlessness. Those are the reasons why his father seems to want him at least.

In the Fairy clan, the Sacred Tree chooses the next FK and he awakens Disaster. In the Giant clan, the leader is the strongest. So, Elizabeth's position doesn't necessarily mean that she is the heir IMO. Is the SD even looking for one? Maybe, but we don't know. Not everything between these clans are straight parallels.

That's a fair point. But I think it's a fair assumption considering the Demon King chose Meliodas because he is the most suitable candidate. If she is an only child, then she indirectly would be the most suitable candidate.

I find it a bit weird that she is the only child and wasn't a point even considered to be the ''heir to the throne''.

Strength, ruthlessness, the thirst for power and potential are the key to be the heir of a " God ".

The DK even said that Meliodas once wished to be the strongest Demon in existence, he had that thirst for power.

The DK pointed out the potential of his son ( only one out of 3), praised him and wanted him to be his heir badly, the Supreme Deity didn't do anything like that for a single Goddess lmao ( no Elizabeth, no 4 Archangels or a random Goddess that we didn't know yet ). Huge difference here.

The Goddess Clan and Demon Clan even recognized the huge potential of Meliodas as the next DK. Dolor ( leader of the Giants ) and Gloxinia ( leader of the fairies ) also know his reputation and potential to be the King of all Demons.

The Supreme Deity hasn't even made an appearance yet.

That's why I said the SD might've tried to mould and change Elizabeth into being the perfect candidate. Send her out into the battlefield or curse her so she ascertains those characteristics which suit the heir of the throne.

We all know Meliodas wasn't the perfect heir from the get go. It most likely came from his potential and training/moulding he received from individuals such as the Demon King, Chandler and other demon clansmen. Elizabeth probably didn't have the same influence, hence why she doesn't have the correct mindset.

Elizabeth probably does have the potential to be next heir if trained or moulded correctly, but Eliz either outright refused activities such as training or was quite strong willed in her beliefs/attitude.

Wishful thinking, even before showing the DK, Meliodas was already said to be the heir of the DK. And that was from the mouth of the King of Giant.

Meliodas was established to be the heir before the apparition of the DK himself lol. You see why I said that is a huge difference? Once again, Elizabeth wasn't hinted to be her heir, and that is the same for her Archangels. The only one who has that potential is Meliodas and that is not from being his son, Estarossa is his son and yet, he got nothing. The praise and hype for Meliodas are insane.

That is because he is the MC lol, Nakaba created another Akira if you get what I meant. It is not a secret that Meliodas is literally his own self-insert now.

It probably is wishful thinking, but at the same time it isn't completely unrealistic.

Meliodas wasn't immediately revealed to be the heir. The commandments came in around chapter 110 (not sure, but around there) and it was only in chapter 173 as you highlighted that he was revealed to be the heir to the Demon King. He wasn't immediately revealed to be the heir because these important things/reveals require development and proper build up - Meliodas was hyped up prior to this reveal. Look at Elizabeth now, she's getting praised by the AA's consistently and getting hyped up for something. Maybe a big reveal of her powers or backstory/position in the clan, or maybe she's getting a big moment where she has a combat moment. Who knows. Maybe even mommy herself will come along and have a secret chat with Elizabeth, like how the DK privately spoke to Meliodas and mentioned how she could've had the throne but her weak ideologies of pacifism ruined her chances.

You do realise that Elizabeth is the main female protagonist, right? She has a lot of similarities with Meliodas, so it wouldn't surprised me if she could've been the heir but chose not to.

I'm just saying it took time and development/hype for Meliodas to get that big ''heir of the throne'' reveal. Elizabeth seems to be getting the same treatment from the consistent praise from the AA's and chapters being all about her or majorly for her - so don't count her out yet.

I said: " he was revealed to be heir before the apparition of the DK ".

After his apparition, he still maintains that Meliodas is his heir, in the Supreme Deity's side, it is complete silence.

Elizabeth isn't praised in the same direction that Meliodas is praised for. She isn't praised for her fighting prowess or strength, but her healing skills.
Still, that is nowhere close to being praised for being the heir of a God lol.
The Supreme Deity couldn't care less about her, she didn't monitor her in the same way that Meliodas was getting monitored by his Father for centuries. Proving the difference in care here.

Lol, the same similarities? Meliodas and Elizabeth are just lovers, one his the MC and the other is the second, Hawk the third. Those dynamics exist in any generic shonen manga, nothing new here. Even their personalities are like day and night.
She isn't portrayed to be the " rival " of Meliodas, if she had that " Sasuke " type of portrayal, I would believe you in a heartbeat but, unfortunately, she is his lover/wife and he is the MC who entertain us ( the reader ) for his fighting prowess. That their role.

It is like Natsu ( MC and fighter ) x Lucy ( main female ) with Happy ( Hawk ) in the same way.

Just personally from my view I don’t see Elizabeth as the heir. From her own admission she’s stated that she’s too naïve, which is a trait that someone groomed for the throne shouldn’t have. She’s supposed to govern lives, but would still think in such a basic manner. and not only that, but Ludoshel implies that if she returned to Goddess side then her mother would break the curse. Which begs the question why is he so nonchalant about that? If the curse was to teach her a lesson to groom her, then letting her back willy nilly won’t fix anything.

Then of course there’s the fact that she was never given a grace and the fact that anytime she comes into comparison with Mel, her hype is always less than his. Estarossa made Mel seem like the greatest demon ever. Drole acknowledges Mel, but not Elizabeth even though he saw her again before he died. Mael’s praise was really just about her healing abilities. The DK has been stated to want Mel back, nothing like that for the SD

Sure she isn't being praised in the same context. But if Elizabeth was groomed to use her raw power for attacks and offensive power rather than healing and purification, we would see a truly powerful Goddess. After all, I do believe she has the potential to be the heir she just requires the correct conditioning in the context of moulding her preference to powers and her own ideals.

Maybe similarities wasn't the word choice. What I mean't is that Meliodas/Elizabeth are very parallel to each other.
Mel is a Demon, Eliz is a Goddess.
He's the son of a God, she's the daughter of a God.
He's a prince, she's a princess.
he's a sociopath killer, she's a pacifist.

Maybe another parallel characteristic is both of them being heirs to their clan, who knows.

Sure, Elizabeth doesn't have the supposed characteristics that an heir to the throne should have. But, she definitely has the potential to be the heir if properly conditioned and groomed successfully. Meliodas had a master and supposedly the influence of the DK on him consistently, shaping his beliefs and aspirations. It may be possible Elizabeth escapes such influences, leading to her pacifistic ways. I saw the deal Ludoshel offered as a form of control. Basically the SD suggesting a ''come back to me and be 100% obedient, and I'll break the curse''. This form of pure obedience from Elizabeth to her mother may include accepting her position as the heir to the throne, which entails subsequent conditioning and grooming that she originally evaded - leading to Elizabeth being the perfect candidate in time.

I mean, realistically why would you give a grace to a pacifist? Regardless of her being your own daughter and powerful. It's the fact that she didn't make Elizabeth the supposed ''leader of the Archangels''. Any military power isn't suited to Elizabeth's personality and I'm sure her mother understands this.

To me, Goddess Clan related hype and reveal is a lot more vague than the demonic side. Meliodas position in his own clan got revealed a long time before Elizabeth's and wasn't subtly hinted at, it was just outright revealed (him being a prince I mean). And since the current arc is Goddess focused in a sense, and Elizabeth is getting hype/praise for a big reveal/moment, we may see something from her character (e.g a backstory, a full fight). Mael's praise was given after a context of healing, so he most likely did praise her for her healing abilities. But at the same time I almost find it hard to believe that a hard-willed proud Goddess like Mael (with sunshine) would even pay attention to healing prowess, you would think only someone who had a unique character or huge potential/power would grab his attention and therefore be worthy of his praise. I mean, Gowther did include the statement of Mael being mightiest Archangel with that praise, which suggests a context of power. Personally, since I do believe Mael might've had a ''thing'' for Elizabeth he might've praised her entire character (e.g unique beliefs in the Taizai world, healing prowess, potential, raw power etc) or if he didn't, the praise was about her potential/power (healing would fall under her power).

The DK has been in Purgatory for over a billion years by now.Them having immortality via longevity should be obvious.
Then why does the DK seem so desperate to have Meliodas as his heir? If he's immortal, then he shouldn't be rushing so fast to put his son into the throne and take his mantle.

Why would his reason be limited to just that?
If that was truly the case, then he would've allowed Zeldris(who is easily the most fitting to hold the mantle of the DK) to absorb the degrees a long time ago, instead of bothering with his problematic, rebellious son.

The fact that he's been chilling in Purgatory for over a billion years and taking his sweet time to return into the fray should tell you that he isn't worried about running out of time.

Then why does the DK seem so desperate to have Meliodas as his heir? If he's immortal, then he shouldn't be rushing so fast to put his son into the throne and take his mantle.
I doubt it lmao, she doesn't give that vibe due to her personality and the way she walks, interact and move lol.

What you believe is only wishful thinking because nothing indicated her to be her heir, zero statement from a single Goddess, Demon or even a person outside of the Demon/Goddess Clan. Meliodas has to work very hard to be considered as an heir, the DK indicated that he wished ( before becoming that strong ) to be the strongest ever ( best quality for a successor ).
I don't see Elizabeth having that kind of wish lmao. She seems to not care about strength, power level, training to increase her power to show off, etc. That is self-obvious, unlike Meliodas who cared about all of that.

Of course that there is some parallel, in the same that Man and Woman have parallel to each other too. But they are far too different in personality, the way they talk, the vibe that they give, etc. One is easy to read, the other can't be read by anyone. ( even Elaine and Dolor can't read him lol )

One is a fighter, he loves fighting and he is a genius at fighting ( he is basically like Goku ), the other one is a pacifist who prefers healing and saving others than fighting due to the lack of care of hurting even her own enemy lol. The difference is huge here.
The only character close to being like Meliodas is Meliodas version 2 aka Zeldoris, same face, same body, same Father, same teacher who are close at strength/power, etc.
Normal since they are brothers.

Maybe the requirement for being the next SD is:
1) Best brainwashing ability among the Goddesses
2) Best darkness-purging ability among the Goddesses

No(although i am actually hoping something like that happens), i mean as the successor of the DK, Meliodas has been said to be able to naturally have the ability to surpass his father's power without the commandments, but he himself didn't take that route because he only had 3 days to get strong enough to avoid Elie's curse activating and absorbing the commandments was the fastest way. My view is that Elie also has this potential
If it was the case, the Supreme Deity would force her that throne like how Meliodas is forced to be in that throne by his Father lol.

There isn't someone who was hailed as the " successor of the SD " by literally the entire Clan ( and the Ruler herself ) on the Goddess side.

You see not her or one of the 4 Archangels is forced by the SD. Not even Mael ( Escanor ), the strongest Archangel and Goddess besides the SD, the one who holds the fate of the entire Clan and his defeat meant the despair for them all.

He was their " Sun ".

.
We don't know anything about the Supreme Deity to even make that conclusion about what her plans may or may not have been for Elie.

She has zero Plan for her, she let her in the dust for literally 3000 years with the lamest curse that doesn't benefit her in the slightest ( without even monitoring her ) + didn't even bother to give her a grace unlike the DK who gives everything to his Kids and cares for them in his own way.

For now, it is safe to say that she doesn't give a damn about her at all.

Again, we have no real evidence for the claim you are making as to her intentions. But what we do know is that Elizabeth is the same 'position' in the Goddess clan as Meliodas is in the Demon clan, and Nakaba has been hyping her since chapter 1. I think its very likely that her potential is more vast than we have seen
Same position? Lol what? Not even close.

Show me Elizabeth being the leader of the 4 Archangels + having a grace + hailed as the heir of the SD + feared warrior by the enemy side.

Familiar isn't it? That sound like Meliodas, yes.

Then, I will believe that nonsense. She has zero hype, what the hell are you talking about?

The evidence that we had is zero, which is like I said, she doesn't give a damn about her at all.
