Alright wanted to way in here on this topic. Raven you can say your opinion in a way that does not put others down here. We all care about the series (or at least most of us do) and just because Saber this week did not like the chapter does not mean he did a bad job, simply that you liked the chapter and he did not. You cannot say you are more objective since that's also subjective. You have a right to dislike the review, i am just not a fan of how you do it but it is what it is. And before you tell me it's none of my business, i will say it very much is. As not only is this posted publically, but also i dislike the symbolism in which these reviews are critiqued so harshly. It could easily lead to people not wanting to support what i think is a solid idea for each week.
Once again like i have said before one's goal in writing a review should not be to make yourself flawlessly unbiased or something of the sort. Simply because there is no such thing, your opinion has to go into a review otherwise it really is no more than an overview then. The only time where being more objective is preferable is when you do basically speak for a site such as when video game reviews come out. Even then there is going to be bias though. There simply is no need to denounce yourself here from the review not being your position, as that is assumed. This is just a review system in which one review a week is highlighted, not the consensus of the entire thread.
Honestly expanding upon my comment on objectivity, there really is no such thing with this type of stuff. Like when i use it and others use it it's more meant to mean this is good or bad by consensus. The other way you could use it is as a word to mean you look at things with less bias than normal. For example i could say i find a series insanely enjoyable but that i don't necessarily think everyone would like it if i was recommending it to someone. Still everything has subjective elements to it since we are not robots is my point.
Also the argument we should not rate chapters low since the mangaka worked hard is also shaky. First of all the reader and author aspect is mutually beneficial. What i mean by that is one does not go far without the other. We don't have a manga if Hiro decides not to write it, and he cannot write it if we don't buy and support it. I personally do buy and support it, but i also understand many who simply cannot. The reality is our opinion individually means nothing to Hiro at all anyways so why care about that? If someone dislikes something say it, we are talking about a manga here not Hiro himself.
I wish we could all try and support this system by accepting we all have different opinions, but not by putting others down as a result. I think we should all think about the fact that if it was our review up there and it was getting attacked such as this and rated, how would we feel about that? I hope this slows down as it is really disappointing to see such back and forth over someone's personal opinion on a manga chapter.
