And no one is entitled to come to trial mode of the inquisition, to say:

I think you confuse Final Attack with One Shot, a One Shot type fight is like those of Saitama where the character does it with a single attack, if you do it after a combat with a concentrated attack in a final way, it is considered as Final Attack , and not as One Shot, Natsu's are final attacks.

Well, as already said, mashima and the publisher took a big risk when starting EZ.

Because if it does not have the expected success, the fans will yell that "" it would have done better to continue FT still a little, rather than started EZ and precipitated the end of FT "".

That's not what I'm looking for. In fact, that is the exact statement I believe people are misinterpreting.

Yes, it's true that Hiro didn't think he'd write more than 10 volumes when he wrote the first chapter, which he confirmed in the afterword of Volume 12. And yes, he confirmed that the support of fans was indeed the reason why FT turned out to be longer than he thought. He even confirmed in Volume 6 (the volume where the Phantom Lord arc began) that he initially imagined he'd write about a guild war towards the end of the series. So of course people would assume Phantom would be the ending.

But what that source doesn't tell you is that when he actually started writing the Phantom arc, he was doing it earlier than he expected, according to Vol. 6. It means by the time the Galuna Island arc was being written, the series was already expanding further than he intended, and he already had more stories he wanted to tell in this setting, including what I imagine to be the then-unresolved plot threads regarding the dragons, Jellal/Siegrain and whatnot.

With all of this in mind, I find it very, very, very unlikely that he thought to himself, "This is most likely where I'm going to sign off on this series," when he started writing this arc. What I'm looking for is an interview and its translation that people have told me about that proves otherwise.

From what we can gather from the afterwords of Volumes 6 and 12, Hiro went into the series expecting to write about 10 volumes or so, with a vague idea of a guild war happening "later" in the series. Now, seeing how the arc ended about halfway through Volume 9, of course people assume that Phantom Lord was meant to be the ending.

But here's the thing people are missing: according to Volume 6's afterword, by the time he actually started writing the Phantom Lord arc right off the heels of Galuna Island, he was doing it earlier than he expected at the time, which means Fairy Tail had already started growing beyond his own expectations. And not once did he say that it was meant to end with Phantom; that was a conclusion readers came up with on their own. So the idea that "Phantom Lord was supposed to be the ending of Fairy Tail" was about as far from the truth as Hiro saying "Fairy Tail was supposed to end with Natsu and Lucy having a daughter named Nashi." And by that, I mean it was very, very far from the truth.

that makes more sense, since Hiro kick started other plots like Ultear and Loki during Galuna Island and Phantom Lord arcs. Why do that if Phantom Lord arc is the finale.

With FT in its latest volumes despite how terrible it was its end, it has a fairly large loyal audience,
not for nothing is the third best-selling series in the magazine in history.

You are confusing the Kodansha publishing house with the weekly shounen magazine.

Kodansha is the publisher, the magazine is a magazine that belongs to that publisher, for example SnK is published in the bessatsu shounen magazine, in the same way with Vagabond, Sazae san.

And yes, Hajime no Ippo and Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo belong to the magazine and those are in fact the two best-selling series in that magazine (Hajime the last time I knew it was around 96 million while Kindaichi was over 85 million) while FT It is the third most sold manga of that magazine with 64 million.

In Kodansha FT, although this is based on my ignorance of the best seller, I would think that this is among the 10 best sellers, here we all know that the king of that magazine will be SnK in a few years.

Well I had dropped this sequel and never thought I will return again,I was so angry at that time.

But today something happened,I was checking the Oricon sales and one thing caught my attention

Ft sequel actually got the top 11th position in sales, pretty damn good actually.So it actually picked up my interest.Could there be a chance that it improved?

Then @Crescent Jinx actually encouraged me too pick it up again.And I listened to her and binge read it.And I admit I was so wrong before,the series is good and reminds me of the good old days of FT when it was my favourite series.There are lot of good things though Touka being the White mage still irks me(which I humbly find unforeshadowed).


Other than that it's pretty good.

Also after being told by her I actually checked the old threads,I saw there was a conflict over team Natsu being defeated.Well they didn't go all out and used the same power they used against Acnologia.So it's logical.Also Mashima should have introduced this type of fighting in the Alvarez arc where where instead of one shots this should have happened by the Spriggans.


But ultimately I take back everything I said.Infact I am so sorry to Mashima and his devout fans for being salty at that time.

I remember @Doughboy was angry at me.Can't blame him.
