Its called plagiarism, but i dont know the ins and outs of the law nor if its up to the orginal author to prosecute.

This discussion was had and finished 7 years ago when Mashima started Rave.
His style is just very similar, if he really would be copying Oda's work, I don't think it would get published.

Copyright violation is up to copyright holder (author/publisher?) to sue the other party. No one else can take any action. At least in Japan, that is.

For me, if Oda's style is copied in somewhat crappy way (ie. Tsugihagi Hyoryu Sakka), I'd get really sad, but seeing how Mashima draws + develops the story so far, I don't have any problem with it. At least he's not ruining Oda's works.

I meant it as a joke, anyway (hence the 'XD' ) but still, his style is ridiculously similar to Oda's. I didn't know that he had already published another series 7 years prior with the same style, so I suppose it could just be coincedence. Interesting.

no, no new thread: it is a good idea to changee the topic titles for it. Now back on topic: I did not read c002, but I will later on this night. But good kefi is doing this one and have my trust in the second release.

About the guys who say this is a rip off. This is always a lame reaction. Every mangaka is influenced by another one. The art is similar (now wonder, because he worked with oda) but the story is no rip-off. It is original, and good. I like it, fairy tail...

Lucy is so Nami fused with Elie (From Rave), the same goes to Natsu combination of Luffi and Haru!

I have read this chapter (someone had to dcc it to me, I seem to be blocked on your chan) but....

Really great work, keep this project ongoing. Man I had goosebumps when that headcharacter (natsu I think); layed down his hands on that little boy (while showing his background with that dragon teacher): so coooooollll
