Fairy Tail's art struck me as One Piece at first too. I was a little confused and was tried to find out if it came from One Piece. I only found out a month after I started reading Fairy Tail that it was from the creator of Rave Master.

The more I read FT the less I think it looks like OP. By this point, they feel so different to me that I can't really compare them. It's funny too because I know people who won't read OP because they don't like the art style, but they'll read Fairy Tail.

The Rave fan-service cameo I'm waiting for anxiously is the Jiggle Butt Gang. I love those guys. There needs to be a funny crew like that in FT that shows up every so often for a few chapters of funny.

I've never read One Piece before, but I'm reading Rave, and it was kind of hard not to see the fact that a lot of the character's base personalities are sort of drawn from those characters. I'm sort of interested to see if Natsu stays as he is or starts to change a bit more...especially after he meets Igneel.

And as for the mad dog Plue, I seriously want Lucy to throw him at someone so he can relive his action scenes from Rave to some extent

And he's fuzzy!

anyone know where I can download FT volumes? Either direct downloads(megaupload, rapidshare, sendspace...), or torrents?

Ever since MH took down all FT chapter/volume downloads I am at a loss. I don't want to download all the chapters individually either, but rather them in volumes.

This something I wanna talk about Midnight's mage/power/whatever...I think his/her (whichever she/he is) mage are Reflect or replier or something like that! Cuz s/he reflect Natus's fire breath while asleep! And Hoteye? Sure, he kick midnight's ass too easy but all the injuries on midnight disappered and hoteye get it about the same time, my guess s/he reflect all damages back to hoteye or whoever the closer. I not too sure about chapter 153 yet (if you haven't read it yet, go and read it).

I guess it too early to tell about midnight mage/power but I just have a rough idea about that, that all.

This is probably a clue to his ability. I think one of those Blue Pegasus guys who got their asses handed to them said something along the lines of "None of my attacks hit him!" as well.

I personally have no good idea what his magic could be; he could have the magic to control other people's magic for all I know.

Damn, I alway keep thinking ahead before I type thing down. Mean to put in, Midnight create a reflect ball or shild or something to keep harm away from him before he asleep or sleeping mage or something. That were one thing come to my head.

Control other ppl magic...could be that, but I don't think it have anything to do with his injuries disappered.

In any case, this might be a bit OT as well but I've always wanted to know: what's mashima's relation to oda? I've heard too many versions of this to count; some say he studied under him, some say he was his assistant, some say that the above is a load of it and he's just coincidentally using the same style...

Mashima never worked for, or studied under Oda. In fact, he apparently never worked as an assistant for anyone.

Fairy Tail Calendars

Does anyone know if there is a Fairy Tail calendar for 2010? I haven't bought one yet and since this is my fav series at the moment, I'd love to get one. I've tried looking up Kodansha calendars, but no luck.

anyways i was re-reading the last couple of chapters with the introduction of Gildartz. as i read i kept thinking of Shanks from One Piece. idk if its just me but Gildartz and Shanks are REALLY similar to me. i mean they both have that badass rugged beard haha.., they both act like mentors to their respective protagonists (not really with Gildartz and Natsu but the way they interact reminds me of Shanks and Luffy), they both are one of the strongest in their groups (Shanks is captain of his crew and Gildartz is arguably the strongest mage in FT), and they are both missing a limb or two :P. i know oda and mashima never collaborated but their styles are so strikingly similar.

not that i'm complaining, i love both mangas.

ahh if only all mangas were like those two...and Eyeshield 21 of course.
