well about Gildarts he didnt stand a chance against that black dragon lost 2 limbs and some inner body parts in just a few sec.
And Mystrogan said Gildarts is possibly the strongest?

What im thinking about the slayers is that the dragons (the good ones) left their students with a perpose. and that each was chosen for it.
Also that their magic isnt just the teaching but i recon they got something from the dragons.

I just remember this page and it's stated in the intro that Guildart's mission was interrupted by a black dragon so it's clearly that the black dragon was not the mission.

The Dragons trained the kids, in my opinion, to either battle OTHER dragons, remember not every dragon is good, AND to protect the dragons from other enemies. He did give up. it was too hard and he suffered too much from the Black Dragon. Now if the Black Dragon wasnt the mission that means that it was either something stronger than him, or capturing something he was protecting. INTERESTING!!!

Black Dragon definitly the black sheep of the dragons? lol.
Gildarts owned in a few seconds (hes said to be the strongest of fairy tail). Atm i doubt Natsu or anyone else stands a chance against a full power dragon. I mean if they cant best the other mages how can they own a dragon.

Its might be possible that different forces from different magical realms are fighting over dominance in the universe... bit far fetched but not impossible.

As far as we know these dragons were not unfriendly they educated and were parents to Natsu and the others.
Yet this Black dragon attacks Gildarts in a split second nearly killing him. Big contrast there.
It could indicate civil war amongst dragons? Or that they are on different sides?
Also that Zeref is alive and plotting.
These Exceed are no different in that aspect, they rejoice the fact they rule over humans, the human kingdom in its turn claims superiority as well. Even tho they worship the Exceed.
Nobody has seen the queen of the Exceed who the Exceed in turn worship as a Goddess... wich always sounds fishy.
I wouldnt be surprised btw if someone put something in place to drain all regular magic power, sounds like the best way to pacify the mages.(not talking about the anima)

Another thing (i wouldnt be surprised if Lisanna isnt realy dead)

I think Mashima is starting to get serious about this pairing. He just doesn't know how to really flesh it out and is dragging it out until he can get a good idea of how to bring these two together.

But their interactions already got rather close i think.

There's a chapter this week but the chapters usually come out on Sunday or Monday these days. So just have to wait a bit more.

The only reason we got chapters on the weekends was because a scan group managed to get raws really really early. They no longer can do that, so raws have gone back to showing up early meaning Sunday night, or Monday for a chapter that comes out on Wednesday. Chapter 176 came out in stores this past Wednesday, the 17th. Chapter 177 will be coming out on Wednesday the 24th, and raw scans should appear on the 21st or the 22nd.

Could be mere coincidence or something is up...
All the dragons disapeared in the year 777 right? Howcome its the same year as Lucy's mom died?

Its just that well if i was writing a story and someone happend to be dead and some group of dragons disapeared... and they are not related .... i wouldnt put the same year or date on the tombstone of the dead person....he could have picked 776 778 779 or w/e why also 777 and also its marked out in big on the page!
Anyone got a clue>?

Yeah it was discussed many times already... We are all waiting to see what's Layla's connection to the dragons.

I'd like the next dragonslayer natsu meets be let from rave. it would be fitting since he was half dragon. he was also my favorite character. I would say lightning element but I dont know if there is going to be one since there was already luxus

Yup , they're the same person. There are a lot of ways to spell his name, and although the author himself stated it was Jellal, in english, the translators have seem to have gotten used to Gerard and so have the audiences .
Jellal, Gerald, Jerald, etc, etc.
