Elza:
Elsa:
Erza:

I could probably dig up more examples of each, but I kind of don't feel like like it. I only grabbed a manga page for Erza, but I'm pretty sure the anime screenshots are faithful to what the manga showed at that point. Anyway...

Uh...

Yeah.

Or is the fact that Lucy, who next to no one would argue is at the top of the guild, and Natsu, who was already worn from a match and a half, had to put some effort into a match enough to completely trump the fact that they did pull off a win?

If Erza being able to oneshot Natsu was meant to be taken seriously, then there serious match wouldn't have shown them both trying there all and trading blows. Massive reaction from the characters over anything that happens in Fairy Tail is also often used for comic effect, so your not doing much to convince me that her beating Natsu was anything more than a quick laugh. Not to say Erza couldn't normally beat Natsu, but in a serious fight it wouldn't be over nearly as fast/ Especially now.

Although really, this whole argument seems a bit moot, considering that Erza and Natsu have both shown off since the timeskip and for all we know Freed could have spent his training time making Laxus sandwiches. Gajeel and Natsu have both pulled of dual element too, which Mashima doesn't hesitate to showcase as intensly powerful. Even if it turns out that Gajeel didn't keep the power up he still had the power to pull it off. Don't forget that.
I never said that they didn't won, did I ? Natsu looked in a good shape to me.

What serious match ? Erza dodged all of his attacks and then it got interrupted. That's not a massive reaction, it's a serious one. Maybe you should go read the chapter again ? I'm not obliged to convince you, since it's already a manga fact whether you're convinced or not.

Pantherlily was worthless against the Seven Kin? He lasted as long against Azuma as Mirajane did. He did that as a swordsman without a sword. When he was defeated, he was defeated by Azuma's Tower Burst, which appears to be Azuma's best attack out of his own resources. Mirajane went down to some random time bomb Azuma set. Furthermore, calling Gajeel's battle with Pantherlily a "struggle to draw" is rather a stretch. Gajeel handily shattered Pantherlily's sword, then doesn't seem to have bothered to use any powerful techniques afterward. Even so he fought without any real problems until the time came to deal with the whole one floating island about to smash into another.

How much you last doesn't mean you're strong. Mirajane managed to damage Azuma and thrill him. The cat didn't even scratch Azuma (even with Wendy and Doranbolt helping him, which should compensate for his lack of a sword.) Gajeel locking all beat up after the battle should be a sign of struggle.

He was still counted in series as having won. That the dog member was not in shape to get up and continue things. As for the two of them being inferior to the Seven Kin, people seem to have drawn the wrong conclusion from that. It doesn't mean that they're really, really weak. Other than Erza, all the members of Fairy Tail that fought the Seven Kin were "far inferior" to the kin other then Meredy. So Yomazu and Kawazu are probably around the same level as Natsu, Gajeel, Gray, Elfman, etc. And Gajeel beat both of them.
Even if he had won, still doesn't make much of a victory (squeezing the entirety of you power on a goat and a chicken.) While I agree that most 7 Kins were superior, it doesn't mean that those two were that strong. Kain didn't look so powerful and he still was far stronger than those two. And so was Meredy and Rustyrose.

It is a joke. It's a running joke in the series that every time Natsu is running around yelling "Fight me!" at a stronger member he gets one shot. It's utterly meaningless as evidenced by the Festival Arc. Laxus defeats Natsu in one casual blow at the start of the arc. Natsu dusts himself off unharmed a short while later, goes on to fight Laxus again. This time while Laxus is taking it casual, Natsu is an even match for him. When Laxus gets serious and enraged and stops holding back, he still can't put Natsu down for the count with one hit. Even when Laxus pulls out his trump cards and catches a surprised Natsu with a Lightning Dragon's Roar, it's not enough to KO him at all, when the casual blow at the bar had Natsu out for a few minutes. Erza casually defeating Natsu in one hit falls into the same category as that one casual blow Laxus just couldn't replicate when it was time for an actual battle.
He still can't put him down for the count ? You mean like when he almost vaporized him if not for Gajeel ? Or when the two of them combined using their best attacks couldn't faze him ? You're ignoring many things here. Even in actual battle he was shown easily defeating Natsu. The difference was so overwhelming that even when the two combine their best attacks couldn't managed to faze him. If you want to think it's a joke be my guest, I'm not planning on repeating myself over and over again.

And the topic here isn't about Natsu, it's about Gajeel. We're drifting from the main topic too much.

Since when exactly has "erza" been the official translation though? I don't think there is any document that actually suggests that and the manga and anime do seem to show her name consistently as Elsa.

It's been the official US translation since Del Rey released volume 2. So a little over five years. All twelve volumes they did have a message in the back of the book saying that they asked Mashima to provide them with official names, although Mashima himself seems somewhat wishwashy on the subject. And I just posted images of the anime and manga not being consistent anyway.

Well, if the author has not been specific about it then I don't see how exactly there could be an official translation. Others might have used several translations however without a definitely answer from the author not a single one of them would be official.

It's the official translation for her name because it came from the official translation of the manga. The accuracy of the official translation is the part that ends up being a nightmare when arguments start up around her name.

Exactly. Just because Fried can last a little tiny bits against Mirajane doesn't mean he's great at all when he fail to do anything or land any decent hit on her.

And it doesn't that Gajeel is necessary weak either. Is there anything that shows Fried won't be even more pathetic than Gajeel if he's the one in Gajeel's shoe? Kain didn't look powerful, but he that doesn't he is NOT powerful. He's still a strong and capable mage.

I highly doubt that attack will truly vaporized Natsu considering Natsu takes on several more of Laxus attack after and he stay 100% intact.

And Fried hasn't shown any attack near that magnitude at all. Fried would just die if he was the one in that fight. That's a sign of Laxus being strong. Not the two being weak.

And the topic here isn't about Natsu, it's about Gajeel. We're drifting from the main topic too much.
It's Hangout topic. There's no particular topic here.

I don't want to bring up this arguments, but since you seemed to be wanting manga facts so much, so let's just get it over with. In all of your arguments, you're ignoring a simple fact that very important. Time skip. Remember what that did to normal members of Fairy Tail? Even the likes of Max has become equal to (No Lightning Magic or Second Origin) Natsu. And that's a regular members of the last ranking guilds in the ENTIRE country. Fried is around Natsu level pre-timeskip too. And he doesn't show to have 3 months training like Natsu and his friends or Gajeel and so forth.

The fight we're seeing right now is another level entirely in term of magic power used. Just because Gajeel is weak when he's on Tenrou island 7 years ago doesn't necessary means he weak now because he's shown ability to fight the top 5 members of #1 guild in the Fiore. That's impressive feats. Fried doesn't show anything that suggests he can do anything on that level at all. So far, he at best seemed to be "maybe", and that's a huge maybe, considering he can't beat 7 kin without tons more people helping him, maybe better than pre-timeskip Natsu. That's still being very biased of Fried power level. And since you seemed to be wanting to ask other people for proof so much, I'll have to ask since when do Fried show ability to be even with Gajeel now after the time skip that he crush the #1 guild when his power seemed be around Max level of the weaking guild in Fiore? And the gap between an average members in the weakest guild (that's not #8 in Grand Magic Tournament, that's even weaker) and the top members in the strongest guild should without a doubt be fairly large.

I like Fried a fair bit, so I don't really want to use this argument. But hey, you have to live with the facts that the author give you, right?

He bested her in hand-to-hand.

He was vastly superior to someone several times stronger than those two. Didn't really get the bold part. Are you saying that Kain isn't as strong as I think ?

I highly doubt that attack will truly vaporized Natsu considering Natsu takes on several more of Laxus attack after and he stay 100% intact.
He would've died, whether vaporized or not. He was already beaten horribly, that attack should have finished him off.

And Fried hasn't shown any attack near that magnitude at all. Fried would just die if he was the one in that fight. That's a sign of Laxus being strong. Not the two being weak.
His attacks are meant for destructive purposes, unlike the DS art. Of course he would't be able to defeat Laxus, but would've put up a better fight than those two individually.

It's Hangout topic. There's no particular topic here.
We're still drifting from what we originally argued about. Freed was training with Laxus for the same period of time as Gajeel. And didn't Erza one-shot Kagura with her power from 7 years before ? That's a girl even the mighty # 1 guild fears. That should speak of how strong the S-Class Mages even before the Timeskip. If Freed improved at the same speed as Laxus then he should still tower over Gajeel.

I like Fried a fair bit, so I don't really want to use this argument. But hey, you have to live with the facts that the author give you, right?
By facts, do you mean him not showing anything after the TS ? Well, that's not fair at all. I could go out of my way and say that Laxus could Curbstomp Gildarts if we go by these facts.

Maybe, but then she beat him. Handily. Like, he didn't even last a whole chapter.

And since Natsu wasn't hit by the attack, and this is Fairy Tail where everything is hyped and no one dies, he probably would have survived being hit by Laxus.

Since Laxus took out a wizard saint, yeah, maybe he could beat Gildarts. Probably not, but who knows? At least we've seen both Laxus and Gildarts doing something since the timeskip. Freed was demoted to fanboy for the arc. Until he does something it's pointless to make a case of how strong he is now. As for the past, That's the second time you've made an argument based on a portion of a fight while ignoring the results of it.

I'm saying Kain is probably stronger than you think.

He would've died, whether vaporized or not. He was already beaten horribly, that attack should have finished him off.
Naw, Natsu tank a lot more attack after that without any healing move at all. That's just Laxus being dumb.

His attacks are meant for destructive purposes, unlike the DS art. Of course he would't be able to defeat Laxus, but would've put up a better fight than those two individually.
I don't think he would be able to. Judging from his fight with Mirajane, one strong attack from Laxus and Fried will cry that he can't fight anymore and that Laxus is on different scale entirely.

We're still drifting from what we originally argued about. Freed was training with Laxus for the same period of time as Gajeel. And didn't Erza one-shot Kagura with her power from 7 years before ? Just because Laxus grows strong doesn't mean we can assume that insane growth of everyone else. Laxus is a lot more exceptional of a mage than most of the cast.

By facts, do you mean him not showing anything after the TS ? Well, that's not fair at all. I could go out of my way and say that Laxus could Curbstomp Gildarts if we go by these facts.
Well, Gildarts was already way above and far above everyone else. Laxus match with Jura can sure shows that Laxus grows stronger can be consider to be equal to Gildarts. It's surely fair. If Fried is surely strong as you say he is, he'll do something to impress people soon. Until then, there's nothing that can prove that Fried is even as close in power as people who takes part in magic tournament now.

And if you're giving Fried undue credits due to your assumptions and lack of evidence, that's hardly fair to Gajeel.

All in all, Fried was cool. But that's all. What he shows doesn't really make it look like he'll be able to match Dragon Force 3rd Gen DS at all. He'll probably be crying same way that he got show some real power like when he fought Mirajane.

You can't and shouldn't assume stuff when making an arguments on how much people get stronger. Especially when it's a huge difference enough to jump from a common mage in the weakest guild in Fiore to top 5 members of the strongest guild. That's just far too big of a jump to assume. Like far far far too big.

Still better than one-shotted..
He only one shot Natsu in a comedic fashion. Nothing more. Why can't he take out Natsu in the same fashion when they are actually fighting later in that same arc? Because the gap between them is actually not that high as you make it to be.

Okay ?

That's you making the same kind of assumptions that you don't want me to make. So no, he would've died\lost.

One strong attack would've also defeated Natsu. It wasn't even a strong one (by Laxus standards.)

Just because Laxus grows strong doesn't mean we can assume that insane growth of everyone else. Laxus is a lot more exceptional of a mage than most of the cast.
Then why are you comparing Post TS Gajeel to pre TS Freed ?

Well since you want to play it like that...

Freed put up a decent fight against Mira who's equal to Erza. And Erza with pre TS power one-shotted a girl that the super 3d Gen DS feared :pwnge Doesn't look like he's the one who's gonna be crying.

He only one shot Natsu in a comedic fashion. Nothing more. Why can't he take out Natsu in the same fashion when they are actually fighting later in that same arc? Because the gap between them is actually not that high as you make it to be.
Erza did it in a real fight, whether you take it or not is up to you. As I showed above, Laxus could've easily defeated Natsu had it not been for Gajeel.

How is it assumption that he's not vaporized if he take on several more attack without dying?

Natsu shown to able to tank strong attack without being a wuss like Fried.

Then why are you comparing Post TS Gajeel to pre TS Freed ?
Because Fried doesn't show any improvement since then, and there's no way we should assume that they are stronger.

Well since you want to play it like that...

Freed put up a decent fight against Mira who's equal to Erza. And Erza with pre TS power one-shotted a girl that the super 3d Gen DS feared :pwnge Doesn't look like he's the one who's gonna be crying.
Mira is not equal to Erza. She was Erza rival BEFORE she gone all emo about her sister death and stop developing her magic. There's nothing that shows they are equal afterwards. Mira doesn't put up as nearly good of a fight against Azuma as Erza did.

And regardless of how you view it, Fried fight against Mira is not a decent fight. No one else in the forum but you seem to think it is, judging from response from before. You fail to shows me how decent it is when all I see is he fail to deal a single good blow on her. And Mira's not even using her strongest Satan Soul. If Mira is not using her full strength, and crushed Fried. That's not a good sign for him. That invalidates your argument even if Mira is equal to Erza and Fried is fighting evenly with Mira (both of which is not true, anyways) because Fried is not "fighting evenly" with full power Mira.

And Erza doesn't even one shot Kagura. Kagura learn about the pass, and admit defeats on her own. She can still fight if she want to, and result would be unknown. If Erza truly one shot Kagura, Erza would get the point, not Minerva. So in this counter argument you're just making 3 assumptions combine to try to support your point. Doesn't look valid to me.

Just because you last some pages doesn't it's a decent fight. Natsu last much more than several pages against boss of the arc on various occasions. But so what? Are you saying that Erza can one shot Jellal, one of the ten wizard saints, because she can one shot Natsu?

Erza did it in a real fight, whether you take it or not is up to you. As I showed above, Laxus could've easily defeated Natsu had it not been for Gajeel.
Sure, I'll just say Erza did it in a comedic fight. Whether you take it or not is up to you. And as shown in various fights against manga boss, just because an attack look like it would finish Natsu off would mean it will actually finish Natsu off. You're assuming that it will. So I'll assume Fried will died even sooner than Natsu, too, because assuming is valid, amiright?

How is it assumption that he's not vaporized if he take on several more attack without dying?
Laxus claimed that the attack would of blown him up. Gajeel seconded this statement saying that Natsu would've died and Laxus is just laughing at his death. This is an unarguable manga facts. Saying that he would've survived isn't simply an assumption but also arguing against a direct manga fact.

Natsu shown to able to tank strong attack without being a wuss like Fried.
Like he was wuss against Zancrow ? Anyway, I proved you wrong up there, and that he would've died. Wuss or not wouldn't matter when you're dead.

Mira is not equal to Erza. She was Erza rival BEFORE she gone all emo about her sister death and stop developing her magic. There's nothing that shows they are equal afterwards. Mira doesn't put up as nearly good of a fight against Azuma as Erza did.
So says you. But Mira did put just as good of a fight against Azuma as Erza did. And both have lost. It's just Mira didn't have a Tree of friendship bringing her back up an powering her to infinity. And she had her sister to worry about.

That invalidates your argument even if Mira is equal to Erza and Fried is fighting evenly with Mira (both of which is not true, anyways) because Fried is not "fighting evenly" with full power Mira.
I don't care what people in this forum think. Fight starts, they go Hand-to-Hand = Freed triumph. Mira uses the surrounding to her advantage and strike with her strongest attack (in that form at least) = she wins. I never said he fought evenly, he put up a decent fight proving by him overwhelming her in the hand to hand combat. She didn't use other than this Satan soul against Azuma. So you're either contradicting yourself (with her being stronger than Erza in her strongest form) or you're trying to deceive me.

Yeah, you have a point. Too bad the Manga stated she won, regardless of who took the points. That's not an assumption.

Just because you last some pages doesn't it's a decent fight. Natsu last much more than several pages against boss of the arc on various occasions. But so what? Are you saying that Erza can one shot Jellal, one of the ten wizard saints, because she can one shot Natsu?
Don't compare an emotion powered Natsu to a normal Erza or Freed. We've seen we're Natsu stands without the emotions and friendship (and Eitherion as well as the flames of rebuke.) And where does he stand ? Getting one shotted by all S-class mages, outclassed by Cobra (while Erza easily defeated someone much stronger than Cobra), outclassed by Racer (who Gray put up a better fight against) as well as being easily defeated by Zancrow and Ultear. Using Natsu after he was powered by emotions doesn't sit well in these kind of arguments.

Nope. Manga states it's a real fight. Can you bring me a page saying it's a comedic fight ? I would love that. Especially with me having several pages pointing it's a real fight. And no, I'm not assuming that. Since both Gajeel and Laxus stated so, it's a fact.

Still better than one-shotted.

It's because this is Fairy Tail that Gajeel came and save him. He would've died but he didn't.

I'm not trying too hard to guess.

What fight are you talking about ? Kagura Vs Erza ? Kain Vs Freed & Bickslow ? Or Freed Vs Mira ?
Kain vs Natsu and Lucy, actually. And if no one had been there to save Natsu he still wouldn't have died. Think about how many times-in any shounen-an enemy will hit the hero with there best spell, say something to the effect of "I'm amazed you're even in one piece," then stare in shock as the hero gets back up. I think Natsu had gone through that twice already by the time he fought Laxus. I know he at least had that exchange with Jellal.

Freed put up a decent fight against Mira who's equal to Erza. And Erza with pre TS power one-shotted a girl that the super 3d Gen DS feared :pwnge Doesn't look like he's the one who's gonna be crying.
Freed did not put up a decent fight. He got kicked around, held his ground for a page after activating his forbidden last resort technique, landed one hit, then got KO'd, and if you're a character in a fighting shounen series and your forbidden last resort technique can't even hold out five pages, there is something wrong with you. Then after that he trembled in fear. You can go and give that chapter another look over if you've forgotten those details. Since, you know, it's only one chapter. And it's treated seriously by the story too, unlike the running gag oneshots that you've been falling back on. [One serious chapter] > [Played for laughs oneshot] in terms of measuring out power difference.

I maintain my stance. Freed is a force to be reckoned with when given the time to set up all the traps he pleases. In a spontaneous battle you are giving him too much credit.

What of that fight ?
No, he would've died. That's exactly why there was someone to save him. Even Gajeel said that he would've died, would you all quite it already ?

For more than one page ? First off, it was three pages. Second, the entirety of the fight lasted 7-8 pages. There wasn't enough time for him to get kicked around. And besting her in hand to hand means that he put up a decent fight.

One shot running gag you say ? Here they admire how strong Erza is while acknowledging the fight as legit. Once again mocking Natsu for his defeat and acknowledging the fight as legit. Not to mention that the whole chapter was dedicated to show how vastly superior the S-class mages to Natsu. Bring me one proof from the manga that this is a gag. I don't want your opinion, I really don't.

Yeah, he really looks beaten down, and there's absolutely no one laughing at that to indicate that, hey, you should be to.

And no, here's how it goes:
Page 1: Mira kicks him mid air.
Page 2: He narrowly avoids colliding with the ground and decides to activate his forbidden technique.
Page 3: He activates the technique.
Page 4: They exchange blows until he grabs her tail.
Page 5: He throws her by her tail into the water.
Page 6: Mira gathers the water while he watches in shock.
Page 7: She beats him up with water.
Page 8: He fails to recover as she readies another attack.
Page 9/10: She annihilates him with water.
Page 11: He falls to the ground, clearly defeated.
Page 12: He squeaks and trembles in fear.

And again, if your forbidden last resort technique isn't good for five pages, there is something wrong with you. If you need to fall back on it in your first big match too, there's something doubly wrong with you. Freed's specialty is setting traps, not spontaneously fighting. Even if he can do both, he's far from the best at the latter.

The first 3 pages can't be considered part of the fight at all. At page 10 the battle ended.

He doesn't triumph simply because Mira doesn't look like she take ANY damage from being blown away at all. It's like saying "Hey, I deal 1 damage to a boss with 1000000000000000000 HP, I must be awesome!". Mira doesn't have any injury or anything of that sort from Fried attack. His attack is worthless. And you still fail to address how Fried is shown to be nearly as strong as people that's in the contest. He doesn't show enough gap of "common mage in the weakest guild in Fiore to top 5 members of the strongest guild" Fried doesn't show that he's that much stronger than Natsu.

Laxus claimed that the attack would of blown him up. Gajeel seconded this statement saying that Natsu would've died and Laxus is just laughing at his death. This is an unarguable manga facts. Saying that he would've survived isn't simply an assumption but also arguing against a direct manga fact.
Why does it matter what Gajeel and Laxus think would happen? They aren't Natsu. A lot of people are thinking Erza is crazy and probably going to died when she fight 100 demon, does it happen? No. Gajeel and Laxus just assume that the attack can kill Natsu.

Like he was wuss against Zancrow ? Anyway, I proved you wrong up there, and that he would've died. Wuss or not wouldn't matter when you're dead.
It's fine to be a wuss if he can get up and win, don't you think? Fried sucks so much in comparison and clearly lost his will to fight. So it matter.

So says you. But Mira did put just as good of a fight against Azuma as Erza did. And both have lost. It's just Mira didn't have a Tree of friendship bringing her back up an powering her to infinity. And she had her sister to worry about.
Erza win, Mira lost. Azuma is using stronger tech to bring down Erza. Who cares about Tree of Friendship. That's because Azuma decide to more stupid than a brick and used Fairy Tail Tree magic power to hurt a Fairy Tail members. Hey, I thought this is the manga of feelings. Doesn't having a sister to worry about raise up her magic power?

I don't care what people in this forum think. Fight starts, they go Hand-to-Hand = Freed triumph. Mira uses the surrounding to her advantage and strike with her strongest attack (in that form at least) = she wins. I never said he fought evenly, he put up a decent fight proving by him overwhelming her in the hand to hand combat.

Fight start, Fried used an attack, it deals tiny damage that doesn't matter. Mira than proceeds and beat him like a joke. Why is it a decent fight that he can beat her in hand combat? There's no real page that shows that's her specialty at all. Any DS shows a better hand to hand combat skill than Jura, they would put up a decent fight 10 wizard saints? And so forth.

She didn't use other than this Satan soul against Azuma. So you're either contradicting yourself (with her being stronger than Erza in her strongest form) or you're trying to deceive me.
That's her own stupid decision. And why would she be stronger than Erza when she losts and Erza win even without using the strongest armor that we saw she have now? Not to mention the second origin upgrade

Yeah, you have a point. Too bad the Manga stated she won, regardless of who took the points. That's not an assumption.
So Gray beat Urtear when she got all teary and lost her will to fight, is that a victory as well?

Don't compare an emotion powered Natsu to a normal Erza or Freed. We've seen we're Natsu stands without the emotions and friendship (and Eitherion as well as the flames of rebuke.) And where does he stand ? Getting one shotted by all S-class mages, outclassed by Cobra (while Erza easily defeated someone much stronger than Cobra), outclassed by Racer (who Gray put up a better fight against) as well as being easily defeated by Zancrow and Ultear. Using Natsu after he was powered by emotions doesn't sit well in these kind of arguments.
Why should we just ban it? It's the thing that he had at his disposal. If Fried can't be good enough to use his emotion that way, that's just Fried being weak.

Nope. Manga states it's a real fight. Can you bring me a page saying it's a comedic fight ? I would love that. Especially with me having several pages pointing it's a real fight. And no, I'm not assuming that. Since both Gajeel and Laxus stated so, it's a fact.
It's a comedic fight because it's supposed to be a gag meant by the author. If you don't see that, I have no way of convincing you. It doesn't look like you read enough manga to know about it. We also see people comments on how scary Nami is when beat up monster trio. Does it matter? They can all just kick her butt. Those words doesn't prove that it's a real fight at all.

How it looks to you doesn't matter to me. He bested her in hand to hand and that's that. How is he stronger than the people in this contest ? Since we haven't seen him fight, we can't know. Can you prove to me that he can't one-shot all the people in this contest ?

It matters more than what you think. No one said that Erza was gonna die. How about you quit the meaningless tries ? It's a manga fact no matter what you say. As if your opinion is more factual than what two characters confirmed.

It's fine to be a wuss if he can get up and win, don't you think? Fried sucks so much in comparison and clearly lost his will to fight. So it matter.
Like when Natsu started shaking and crying against Gildarts and remained silent in shame for a whole day ?

Erza win, Mira lost. Azuma is using stronger tech to bring down Erza. Who cares about Tree of Friendship. Erza lost. Mira lost. Azuma was stronger than both. Who cares ? Azuma does. Having a sister to worry about raises your MP ? Not when you have to take blows instead of that sister.

Fight start, Fried used an attack, it deals tiny damage that doesn't matter. Mira than proceeds and beat him like a joke. Why is it a decent fight that he can beat her in hand combat? I don't care how much damaged he dealt. I really don't. It makes a decent fight because he didn't get one-shotted. No DS have shown the hand to hand prowess that Jura shown.

That's her own stupid decision. And why would she be stronger than Erza when she losts and Erza win even without using the strongest armor that we saw she have now? Not to mention the second origin upgrade
If she could put up a fight against Azuma (while protecting her sister) as good as Erza did. Then in her strongest Satan Soul she should be stronger. She couldn't use that armor then. Don't even try to use that as testament of her strength. Erza also lost.

So Gray beat Urtear when she got all teary and lost her will to fight, is that a victory as well?
Nothing to do with what I said. By the time she got all teary, Erza was already acknowledged as the winner.

Why should we just ban it? It's the thing that he had at his disposal. If Fried can't be good enough to use his emotion that way, that's just Fried being weak.
It's not at his disposal, it's an outside power source. And we should ban it because it's not his power. So Jura, Gildarts, Laxus, Jellal, Hades, Everyone in the world (beside Erza and Natsu) are all just being weak ? Not flying.

A comedic beat down is like this. Not even the next page, in the next panel no one cared about what happens. When Nami beat the Monster Trio, no one cares. But when he challenged her, got beat and then have the whole chapter just dedicated to show how weak he's before the S-class mages. Yeah, it's not a gag.
