How can time travel make sense, when we can't even test it and look what's realistic or not? Don't forget, this manga is about magic and dragons, neither of which would make sense in reality.

Well, time travels can make sense - in a hypothetical way. But if readers stick to their own expectations only, actually not only time travel constructions aren't going to make any sense.

Mashima used parallel timelines/muliverse hypothesis - which was established by the Edolas arc - and therefore denied the grandfather paradox as the time travellers were able to mess with causality without affecting themselves or their own original timeline. Which is why Future Rogue returned to his timeline and Future Lucy's soul was reunited with her friends'.

That's just Mashima being misleading. Hisui is talking about Rogue while Lucy is being shown.

Oh. That. In that case... a Edited Manga problem, I'd guess. It's much easier in Japanese than in English to use pronouns without mentioning gender, and if the Manga Editors thought at the time that Hisui was talking about Lucy they could have decided to use 'she' when translating rather than something like 'they'. I didn't see the raws, though, so don't quote me on that one.

Hehe.But Mashima wouldn't kill many people.He prefers happy endings and all good stuff.I remember he said in an interview that he was dissapointed in how Rave ended,he said that he should've made a happier ending.Well the name itself is Fairy tail so i will never expect mass deaths and "empty" endings with a few number of characters surviving in the plot.Fairy tail is better off without many deaths imo,FT's theme is "festival".People gathering together and enjoying life with their nakama.Manga would be off if he does make an arc where many characters would be killed.Recently Gray,Romeo's dad would've stayed dead but Mashima revived them anyways.Well Mashima didn't probably know how he'd deal with Ultear so he killed her probably to give some development to Gray since he's one of the main characters and he does need character development.

He was perfectly fine with Rave and how it ended, but he wanted to create a story that wasn't just "Rave II". What could have had Rave as happier ending than Rave got?

And actually there’s another sister/brother relations unrevealed in the story yet. And it’s not Yukino’s which many readers already aware of.

he's responsible for taking ultear away from UR
putting UR through major grief
raising ultear to be a villian through empty promises and lies.
after all that ultear whom gray thought he saved. makes a great sacrifice
being her time and becoming an old lady to repent for her sins
does anyone think gray has any hatred or feelings of anger towards purehito
in which he might want to take revenge for the UR family
(when he's way stronger though)

Another case of convenient amnesia? I swear, that ailment is spreading around like a plague, where people forget key moments from a story just because. So sad.

Bzzt. Sorry, you got the answer wrong.

Read the additional information given outside the manga/watch the anime. It was Brain (Of Oracion seis) who initially kidnapped Ultear by telling Ur that Ultear died when Ur took her to see a magical health facility. She actually escaped at one point and when going back to Ur, saw her with Grey and Lyon, and (mistakenly) thought that her mother adopted them because she didn't need/want Ultear anymore, because as far as Ultear knew, Ur abandonded her to that facility. She then goes back to the facility to become stronger of her own choice, but with her anger at Ur.

Brain then ditched the facility when he decided she was too strong to be a member of oracion seis and she willingly ended up joining grimore heart sometime later.

As evil nutcases go, Purehito was fairly nice to Ultear (and presumably his other guild members), even if he was a bit insane for wanting to revive Zeref, and willing to kill/let fairy tail members die.

This will go down as one of my favourite Special chapters so far. The comedy was just so brilliant and like lawlett said, we got to find out a bit more about Cana's life when she joined the guild in search of her father.
My favourite parts of the story was the return of Gajeel and his bunnies on stage, not seen since the Battle for Fairy Tail and Maso-Mira punishing Erza, with Lucy then getting dragged into it. Poor thing lol
