Then you have to see how the characters are interesting for the Japanese. If it's in terms of personality and sight I find that juvia has more than gajeel.

I agree, he has moments when it's abused but that's what makes him so charming. Mashima has abused a lot of things on all her characters (lucy's fan service that doesn't bother me for me). The stupidity of natsu which is sometimes exaggerated in my eyes (ex: blowjob on lucy), the ability of erza which are WTF etc. But that's what makes manga so charming. With naruto it is one of the manga where I still watch the episodes or read the manga.

Seriously though, what is up with FT and polls, it's been around like 10 years and only had some really underhyped popularity polls, no big announcement, no big colour page with the winners, nothing.

This twitter poll was only running for 50 some days so can't imagine it being more than 1000-2000k people voting but it's after 328 episodes and in the middle of 100YQ so more info

• How did Gajeel not even make the first poll...?
• Hiro said Mavis was more popular than he thought she would be so her rising isn't surprising
• Lucy falling in popularity is predictable, Lucy mostly only contributed at the end of Alvarez while Erza had Irene connection and multiple developments occur. Lucy doesn't fight as much as Erza either
• Jellal and Laxus being in top 10 now is good to see, I'm glad japs like them as much as westerners do
• Juvia is only popular cause of her attachment to Gray, she doesn't fight anymore and doesn't interact with others outside of Gajeel
• Mira only fell cause of lack of screentime during Alvarez
• No spriggans even mentioned in the one-off votes, but Zero, Jackal, Kyoka, Sorano, Mest were. Brandish and God Serena were the most popular male/females spriggas though

They collected the votes on Anime's Twitter (which has few followers) and just had a little over thousand replys.
Fans also indicated more than one character (mostly by ships like almost all twitter fans)

It might have been me if we talked about it before the anime version of the Alvarez arc came out, but if it was any time after then probably not.

I'm pretty sure I've seen people saying it will come out in January/February 2020 though.
