Keep telling yourself "They did Kaguy and it was good" :)
I look at some of their good stuff like early FT and early Nanatsu no Taizai. They can cook.
Question is, how invested they are.
Kaguya is top tier but isn't a fighting shonen so they have more freedom to select when to use good animation. The team behind the adaptation also gives a **** which I can't say about the FT adaptations apart from maybe the first (although the Gildarts thing still irks me).
They never did a fighting manga adaptation which I would consider top tier so that + past experiences with FT leave me very anxious...
(btw, I felt like a 🤡 after seeing the Kaguya adaptation. The only reason I didn't go crazy was it not being a fighting shonen, because although I love Kaguya and think it deserved a good adaptation, I felt cheated).
A-1 never seems invested in FT, hope its different this time if they are really the studio.

Hold on actually, what credibility does this random account have anyways?

The guy spoke to Mashima using an AI translator and from what it sounds like, Mashima's been feeding him information regarding the series??

How do we know that this isn't just a troll?
There are no other sources, masta_my hasn't published anything since February, it was the only credible source

Stop trolling with me again. You did it before and @Kiki asked us to stop. You are not amusing me anymore and I will stop to speak with you.

Weekly sales, I'm kinda surprised Again

Nothing really surprising here Fairy Tail is a very popular series with large fan base that are still active supporting the series while if you look at Edens Zero there fanbase is very small even with the Anime airing it still won't boost the series like Fairy Tail

I know that, I was talking about this degree. in 3 days it still managed this. and surprising part is these is not even counts the day it was 9nth of the day sales, April 10, this count ended on 9th April. I expected it to be in top 50 on its second week. Hope this will affect Hiro a bit on his "priorities".

Isn't this selling way better than it did in a while, or I'm confused?

Tougen anki selling more than space manga. This just compounds misery upon misery. Tougen anki is a relatively new manga and it is dominating space manga. I'm sure the only reason space manga isn't getting axed is because of hiro's fame. If this was shuiesha it would have been axed a long time ago. I hope Hiro starts taking this sequel seriously, it his biggest hit and him giving attention to an unnecessary manga is not fair to us fairy tail fans. We deserve more

Once again using the cover of a new volume to promote EZ? Please, they disgust me

They should give up, they didn't shine in the first season, much less they will in this one, where there are great series on the air like Oshio no ko, KNY, tengoku, kono subarashi, Jigokuraku, tonikaku, etc.

I wish they were like that with the FT promotion, but kodansha and Mashima ignore the series

Yeah I can feel your pain man. Why are they doing this to us fairy tail fans. We want nothing to do with this dogshit series. Like why the fuck is mashima trying so hard for this series but not fairy tail. It's like mashima is using the fairy tail popularity to boost space manga.

I have to say that although I prefer Fairy Tail and wish Mashima would be the one drawing 100YQ, its perfectly normal to use your more popular series to promote your more recent one and Mashima didn't even want to write the sequel let alone draw.
FT volumes had "from the creator of Rave Master" in the cover for ages and although using the cover of a volume to promote another series isn't the same situation, one more time, FT isn't Mashima's main project and Kodansha benefits from a mangaka having another successful series.

Kodansha are still the main villains here though, they convinced Mashima to write for 100YQ but are not pulling any attention to it, promoting EZ doesn't stop them from promoting FT at all and Ueda at least is 100% focused on that project. They also half-backed every FT adaptation even before the manga ended (the 2009 one gets a pass but it's still infuriating on a lot of things).

I'm still hoping it isn't really A-1 for the new anime because they should not be allowed to touch FT after the last 2 seasons.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

FT should also have more movies, lesser franchises produced more than 2, its ridiculous that they only have this many.

Oshio no ko, KNY, tengoku, kono subarashi, Jigokuraku, tonikaku, etc.
And Ousama Ranking Season 2

I got it the first time, when the EZ s1 debuted, but do it one more time with the S2? Both YQ100 and EZ started around the same time, but I don't remember seeing any promotion for YQ100's manga on EZ. So the promotion is only one-sided? EZ can promote his series on YQ100 but this one can't on EZ?. At this point, both Mashima and Kodansha should understand that most FT readers don't care about EZ.

If mashima does not want to know anything or has no interest in YQ100, why is he still leading? I understand that at the beginning he was needed due to Ueda's lack of experience in fantasy, but a few months ago he mentioned that Ueda was going to lead the series, right? why hasn't this happened yet? I mean, Mashima isn't putting any effort into the story/narrative in this sequel and Ueda does the most important thing, the drawing, so what does Mashima do?

A1 did a great job in Dragon Cry, if they animate YQ100 with that quality I have no problem with them continuing to control

Well, like I said that is also Kodansha's fault, there's really nothing stopping them from promoting 100YQ more. Then again, one thing doesn't make the other necessarily bad, I still defend that promoting your other manga with your more popular one isn't bad and is rather normal to do. The season 2 for what I know covers some of the more well received arcs so the second wave *could* boost the sales this time. Also while a lot of FT readers don't care about EZ the opposite isn't true, a lot of EZ fans (contrary to what FT haters want people to think), are also Mashima fans in general and would be reading 100YQ and care for the anime announcement.

Mashima is still pulling his weight in the series even if EZ is his main project, he still talks from time to time about FT and it doesn't seem he's doing it just out of obligation, he was still convinced to do it, 100YQ has been a mixed bag in terms of story but it still has some good additions to the franchise imo (not to mention that writing for the manga still takes time and effort, no matter how much or how little he cares it still is way more work than if he refused I don't think he can just go through the motions).

I think the reason he wants to give Ueda the reins is also because he's basically stealing part of his recognition as the mangaka for 100YQ, and it seems Ueda doesn't feel 100% comfortable do do it all himself for now (that's why Mashima said he planed to do that when Ueda felt more secure).

In the end, EZ isn't hurting the sequel. The only thing that EZ did that hurts the sequel is dividing Mashima's time and blocking 100YQ of his art, but the sequel is already a bonus of a manga that ended, no Author has to work on the same thing forever even if it is more profitable.

About Dragon Cry, I preferred the first movie tbh, and the animation wasn't that great apart from 20s of Natsu beating the dragon (still better than the final season but what isn't). One movie is also very different than one season.

I'm sure if Mashima pressured Kodansha to promote FT they would do it, he might even do it himself, maybe doing color pages more often, but he doesn't do it either, neither Mashima nor Kodansha seems to have any interest in promoting the series. I don't know if EZ will gain momentum (it seems unlikely, it had a better chance to stand out in its first season, since it only competed with BNH and TR) but it doesn't really matter, the annoying thing is still how little attention Mashima gives to YQ100. I think there are many readers who only follow Mashima through FT, they may support the mangaka by reading his other works, but if in the end you make them choose between him and FT, they will surely choose FT (The difference in sales of EZ and YQ100 is proof of it).

I don't know what weight Mashima is placing in the series, it seems that whenever he has time, he prefers to be in another project than in YQ100 (new original anime on the way, new manga on the way, Gates manga, spin-off of series, he helps in the art of video games and other series) and when appearing he always tries to get a new job before dedicating himself to YQ100, I understand that his priority is EZ, but he just announced the end of this series and already wants to start a new story? so YQ100 is not even the second priority of him? in fact YQ100 has any priority in the life of him? it seems he only does it because he gets a check at the end of the month.

If the only thing that stands out from Mashima's works are his designs and Ueda now does this for YQ100 then it's clear that Ueda is going to get more recognition than him, I mean, it's not like Mashima is trying hard to tell a story (despite that at the beginning of the series he said that he had a plan and a story to tell [I think his plan was to keep improvising]), I think if Mashima is somehow upset that Ueda gets more recognition, then he should take the series on its entirety rather than planning a new series after EZ.

I have never said that EZ harms the sequel, but what you say about Mashima's time, it is something that he himself wants, I understand that a mangaka can get tired of writing the same story for 15 years, but then let it go, Mashima seems a small child who, when another child arrives to use a toy that he does not like, immediately becomes jealous and takes it away, but once he leaves, he leaves it forgotten. If mashima is tired of YQ100, then let him leave history, surely someone else can continue writing the same mediocrity that he does.

The anime has been in production for about 2 years, if A1 is in charge then at least I hope to see something like Dragon Cry, the fight with Animus was quite good and the designs of Lucy with her star dress were great, although of course I prefer KyoAni although it seems unrealistic.

I think I didn't explain myself well. I wasn't implying that Mashima is upset that Ueda is stealing his spotlight, quite the opposite, Mashima seems to want Ueda to take over and he wasn't the one who asked to be the writer for the sequel. If he didn't leave it's not because he's opposing but because he was asked to help, it's not fair to compare him to a small child that sees his old toy being used when he didn't plan to be involved although he already knew about the sequel being planned.

The way he talks it seems that he wants 100YQ to be Ueda's project not his, which is fair because it originally was supposed to be just Ueda. I still have been enjoying quite a few things about 100YQ (and liking others less at the same time), in reality we don't really know how the series would be without Mashima at this point, the only way to find out is for it to really happen (Fairy Tail also always had the characters and their interactions going for it so art is not the only thing Mashima contributes to the manga).

Also Mashima always pilled up extra projects even before EZ, when he was making FT, it's not surprising he continues to do that. Some of the projects he was involved since EZ also included the FT ip. About the new series, it's obvious that he wasn't going to focus on 100YQ after EZ ended, he likes to draw and Ueda is already drawing 100YQ, the only option would be to kick him out and that would be both mean and unfair (there could be some type of agreement but I wouldn't bet on that).

Not saying it isn't ok to be frustrated with the state of the manga but I don't believe Mashima is simply ***ting on it. Kodansha, on the other hand has been doing the bare minimum in a lot of fronts since the original series.
