While I heared Gruvia is most popular ship in Japan, People hate that Wendy essentially took Juvia's spot on main team, People love her love shenanigans more than Wendy's Flat\Small jokes.
Also, as sad as it is, without her Hiro can't write Grey, Yes I would love Grey to do things on his own, Like Juvia, But Hiro literally refuses giving him anything unless she is around.

This is why I can't appreciate gruvia as much as I want to. It holds back Gray individually so much.

I both agree and disagree. Hiro tanted his rep too much to take his words seriously.
But factor is, FT is very popular unlike his other work.
So it all will depend on his superiors, How much affect Hiro has on them now. As writer Hiro lately has nothing to show, 100yq is doing good (as possible) duo too being FT sequel, His other stuff leach off his name gained from previous works. They still can make money, FT is big ip, So will they stick with Hiro or have him give Ueda more charge. who might decide to make it longer or shorter. so there are a lot of factors.
At this point, judging how space manga went, He would try to not come of as complete liar, so around 230-240.

The main problem is mangakas usually don't decide how many chapters they are given - publishers do. So it's not like Hiro is lying, he probably has been prepared to make more chapters for EZ (judging how rushed EZ's ending was, he likely wanted a little more).
Also as a side note - remember that in Volume 12 Afterword Hiro wrote that the series was supposed to have around 10 volumes. So yeah, maybe that's good that Hiro sometimes doesn't follow his plans, as we get a little more story after Phantom Lord

You have to go see on the topic of cover of EZ, that I posted yesterday, he explains how he plans the chapters for the end and I find it really shameful what he says.

For the rest if 100 quest goes up to 250, it leaves us a hundred chapters, which could be a good thing, if it is done correctly, we do not rush the fights, nor the narration.

There is still a lot of fight to do and see if Elsefira is the real final boss.
