Don't get me wrong - Jellal is a beast and one of the strongest characters in the manga (he always was), but this Hiro's statement about Spriggans' power doesn't really prove Laxus v Jellal situation as they respective fights were completly different.

It's also worth mentioning that this Spriggans rank is made for the upcoming game. We don't know yet if the game is 100% strict to the manga (well, to the anime, game's official site states that the game is based on anime not the manga somehow )

Laxus only ever appears strong when it time to fight some random "gildarts level guy" but he completely disappears when it's time to fight the real deal and then mashima just have him leach of characters like Erza and natsu for feats.

This is actually pretty grave, Erza in Alvarez was losing to Ajeel in a 1v1, then in 100YQ she fought toe to toe with Laxus. This smells Kurumada level rebutal, an statement that discredit the author words.

To explain the Kurumada thing, he is the author of Saint Seiya, in an interview when he was asked about the strongest gold saint he picked Virgo Shaka due to being the closest to god. Then later in his manga, he made the guy who fought both Shaka and Gemini Saga say that the gemini saints are the strongest of each generation, so the manga debunked what he said on a interview.

100YQ Erza being around Alvarez Erza seems to be a big contradiction to the manga.

Mira got a offscreen fight with Jacob (Mira is the offscreen queen ) but Jacob nerfed himself with his ridiculous weakness, and it was emphasized that Mira only won due to this nerf while Ajeel lost to Elfman and Lisanna with no excuses given to Ajeel

Also, I know it's controversial, I do count August as "random guy". He was walking around for a bit and then killed himself. That was his whole role. He was the son of Zeref and Mavis but since they never learnt about it, it did not matter on the higher plane. Irene was the reason DS Magic even exist, DiMaria is the reason END woke up, Brandish finished the Zodiac Key subplot. August is pretty skipable tho, he did not contribute to the main plot at all.

I hate Erza I don't even hate laxus. Over the past few months I've come to genuinely despise this series. The fans piss me off, the author piss me off, everything about it pisses me off. It's a shittty series

Personally I think one of the reasons for that is because the type of magic they use, until Erza used some type of water magic she wasn’t able to harm Ajeel

Well Elfman has sand counter form and Lisanna can counter for things like sinking into sand.

She just used an stamina drainer form before, but the fact that she used it against fodders don't help, and you can add that Jacob was still somewhat harmed from the fight he lost, which can also be said about Ajeel, but this one it's we that are saying, the only emphasized excuse was Jacob's one, and it was given by Mira herself who shouldn't be stronger than Erza who couldn't solo Ajeel.

Wouldn’t Mira also have been harmed from being tortured by Irene and shot by August, the second one is debatable because of Brandish.
No one is saying Mira > Erza
Like I said before Erza was at disadvantage when fighting against Ajeel
